It's more fun to believe it IS planned in the sense that the producers handed Hammond a printout of the Mexican flag and said "here's the Indian flag for your reference" and he didn't twig.

No; the Union Jack's diagonal stripes, as you know, are not centred along the diagonal, they're to one side. The direction then ends up being clockwise or anticlockwise. If the flagpole is on the left of the flag, the direction is anticlockwise; and the reverse for if the pole is on the right. James' was the other way round. It's better to explain with a diagram.

I remember when this special was released and everyone hated it. Even Jeremy admitted it was quite weak. But looking back, this is probably one of their best compared to shit we have now.

It's an old-fashioned oil burning (sometimes gas) oven found in old cottages. It stays hot all the time so it's used for heating the house too.

An Aga is a big wood/oil burning iron fire/cooker. The manufacturer who makes them is called Aga.
They're usually found in old British country houses and are used to heat water, the house and to cook food.
