  • Just because you ride a certain stance on one board doesn't necessarily mean you should ride it on EVERY board. In the video ‪@oldmanwintereight‬ , Jayson, and snowboard legend Dave Downing show you why it's good to play with your stance a bit and how easy it is to adjust your bindings on the channel system.

Been riding for over 20 years, was using +15/+6 for the longest time and then last year I tried +15/-15 and I'm hooked. Just got a 2023 Custom X with Genesys bindings so I'm glad I found this video.
    Liked and subbed.

Ive watched a few videos of you guys now and I cant say anything else but I'm hooked! Very informative and super interesting to watch, love it!
Currently I'm thinking about getting my first Burton Setup with the Custom or the Custom X, final decision hasn't been made yet. I might rent both versions and just test it out and see whichever feels better.

That is actually a pretty easy one. If you want an aggressive all-mountain biard the Custom is the most popular go to. If your riding style is faster and harder than your average intermediate/advanced rider then go for the Custom X.

I think David is legit. I think Jayson is legit. And I think Matt has me sold on the-house. Great vid, Ty

I love EST bindings on the Channel, only two screws and no baseplate to open up/reveal

  • @jasonestradamartinez4280

So the freedom of the Chanel is amazing but how about when the board is directional like the burton custom, I love the board but what if I love the stance a lil bit forward to try to get a lil more of the “twin “ feeling having the same distance from tail and nose that’s would work or is something I shouldn’t do on a directional board this might be a dumb question but I don’t really know if this can affect I love your videos guys btw

It’s all good you can just move your bindings forward a bit to center up the stance. Nothing wrong with that.

I'm riding an Custom Camber 169W from 2016 with a Mala Vita EST and Salomon HiFi boots size 290mm. For me a great setup. Now I'm searching a plate (10mm) to use under the binding to reduce toe and heeldrag and to get more pressure on the edges while carving hard. Is it possible top buy such a plate for EST-Bindings or must I build a self made plate? Buying new board, boot, binding is not an option for me!
    Thanks a lot.

I know the plates you are talking about and I don't think they exist anymore, over the years its one of those things that someone makes a version of, it doesn't work that well and then it disappears for 5-10 years and then someone else tries but never takes off. I've only ever seen it for standard plate bindings though. If you have your foot centered properly on a wide board you should be good but it you are still catching a toe or heel while carving you might want to check out the DF (Drag Free) Proto FR from Never Summer or Ultra Wide Skunk Ape from Lib Tech
