    Best review of step on I've seen so far! I've run them for 3 seasons and I always tell people that the only thing "beginner" about them is the convenience factor. Other than that they are more comfortable and responsive than any other freeride binding on the market.

    Nice review! I have been using step on for 3 seasons. It's so responsive and convenient! I ride 100 days a season and it usually takes 2 pairs of Ions. The boots broke, but the binds stayed strong. Will never go back.

    Had these for 4 seasons. ZERO problems. ZERO pressure or pain points. ZERO failures. I’m not a beginner, I’ve ridden for 32 years. I still ride fast and hard. I don’t have back problems and I CAN bend down to strap in. That’s not why these are great. It’s just simpler. I love anything that is simplified. That’s pure design.

    Agreed, been riding union strata's for 3 years, and the burton 2022 with the squishy ruler's boots have so much power to the edge and the foot to ground contact through the boot is incredible. The boot fits like a glove as well, but I got some bulging heels and a narrow-ish foot.

    Although it’s not an “option to replace the toe hooks” (@4:50) it’s important to note they are directly replaceable and interchangeable with the Toe Hook 1.0. The binding baseplate is still the same. It’s part of the modularity Burton has worked so hard to implement in this binding.

    • @Vii_DT
      @Vii_DT Před 2 lety

      If that's the case, what exactly is the non-replaceable bit again?

    • @tributeboardshop
      @tributeboardshop  Před 2 lety +1

      This is true but we were told it wont be up-gradable to the consumer - lucky for all of us we just need to get new bindings as any generation boot will work due to the modularity!

    • @scottmagruder6907
      @scottmagruder6907 Před 2 lety

      Why won't Burton sell the 2.0 toe hook if it's interchangeable?

    • @jhrycun
      @jhrycun Před 2 lety

      @@scottmagruder6907 probably because too many Jerry’s would either break them swapping them out, destroy themselves after improperly installing them, or both. It’s a fairly straight forward swap but as it stands, Burton requests a binding with a broken Toe Hook to be sent in via W48 Warranty for replacement on site.

    Hi there, thanks for your contents 👍 I tripped over this vid while searching for Step on reviews and I've found a lot of people complaining about boot lift on frontside turns. I saw a guy that could literally put 4 fingers in between his boot's sole and the binding's footbed (on the heel I mean). I personally know some step on users that had to stick some sort of 1cm thick foam wedge on the heel zone of the footbed to compensate and solve the problem. Ain't that a problem for you too? Don't you feel a delay on frontside turns?

    I got the white Genesis binding, it looks great and feels good. However my mesh hammock broke off on the first day, it just disappeared. I assumed it came off when I unlatched... The Mesh is held on by a single flimsy rivet and the boot latch can catch and break it off without you knowing. The biggest problem when I contacted burton is that they don’t hold white spare parts so they were going to replace the whole Hi-back with a black one so I will have mis-match blinding. Later I was told they didn’t even have a spare Gensis Hi-back so they can’t help me. They offered a refund but I was on the mountain and no local shop sells the genesis so I was stuck with a broken binding for the rest of the trip. Without the mesh, the boot latch gets caught in the hi-back hole so you can’t easily step into the binding. This really wrecked my holiday and was not impressed with how the burton warranty department handle this…. One would expect more from such an expensive binding…
