Both of those boards are exactly for your riding style. The Cartographer is basically like a price point version of the Flight attendant. Both are all mountain/freeride boards but the Flight Attendant is a more aggressive and snappier feeling board.

They don't, last year that was the yearly "board with Mystery Construction". This year they did a Mystery Juice Wagon. A video with that board is coming soon!
Looking for some advice on what to get here. I don't ride the park much at all, love the speed when carving groomers and love the deep the pow on the extremes. I've been riding an old rossignol proline for way too long. Definitely getting the step on setup as well. I'd say I'm an advanced rider with very confident balance and ride style. Camber or directional camber for sure.
I would check out the Deep Thinker or the Hometown Hero for sure. Both boards are all mountain capable but more for the rider who plays outside the park! Exactly your ride style.
@@thehouse yeah those two are tough to choose between. I’m 150lb with size 9. Sizing for the thinker seems more obvious, 154. But I feel like the 152 might be too short for the hometown hero? Maybe not. I’ll likely get the hero though. I doubt I’ll be disappointed with either choice
@@torchwork8651 Jumping up to the 156 in the HTH wouldn't be bad. It's only an extra cm on either size of your feet and more board in the pow just means more float.
Thank you for these clear and precise explanations. I've been riding for 5 years now, I have an intermediate level, I go absolutely everywhere but I'm not an expert. I would now like to start learning little flat tricks (no big jumps) and presses. I still want to keep power and aggressiveness on my rides with a good flexibility that'll allow me to do presses/butter without losing possibility to carve on slopes and do powder… i want everything haha. I only want a Burton board. What do you recommend between these 3 boards? Burton Process regular camber or flying V or burton custom . Wich one is the most versatile for my use ?
I wish someone would make a video comparing the flight attendant vs hometown hero vs daily driver. All these boards seem very similar, and I often hear them mentioned together.
We gotchu, The Daily Driver is more of a traditional all-mountain board for someone looking to ride park-to-pow. As for the FA and HTH those are all-mountain boards for someone whos probably not riding the park and wants to float really well in pow. The biggest difference between those two boards is the HTH has 2mm more taper and the Carbon highlights so it will have a little quicker feel edge-to-edge. The carbon in the FA runs straight tip to tail so it has extra spring and pop but is a little smoother feel edge-to-edge.
Hey, love all your vids! I’m trying to choose between the Skeleton Key and Deep Thinker. While I’d like to be riding powder I’ll probably spend more time on groomers and head into the trees when I can. I wanna have some fun and link together some good quick turns. Sometimes I might want to go harder and cut through the crud but I don’t expect to bomb large bowls at full speed anymore. Buttering is a nice to have, switch isn’t necessary. The SK looks dope, but wanna make sure it’s the right choice. Thank you!
Honestly its a pretty easy decision between those boards. They are both for the same style of rider, it just the aggressiveness of the board that's different. The Skeleton Key will have a little easier smoother feel and the Deep Thinker will have a little more aggressive feel that will push you in and out of your turns a little more.
Thanks for the quick reply and simple comparison! I bought the SK. I’ve ridden more aggressively (for me) when I was younger but I’m keen to try out a more playful style of riding. It’s hard to tell what someone else’s definition of fast or aggressive is, but I get a feeling I won’t max out the SK 🤞

What would you recommend for beginners coming from rental wide board? My shoe toes hit the snow pretty often despite the wide rental board. Shoe size 47 🤣 I don't want to hit the limits of my board after 2 seasons, so I'm hesitant, beginner or intermediate board? No jumps or park. Just once a year pistes in Europe
IF you already know how to ride definitely don't go for the beginner boards, you are already beyond that. I'd check out the Instigator or the Process in a "wide" model obviously. And most importantly, adjust your bindings so your boots are centered on your board. Rental places NEVER make that adjustment for riders if any. Honestly either board would be good, It just depends on how lively you want the board to feel. The Process has a triax glass so it still is a lively aggressive board but the Custom has added carbon for a little quicker feel compared to the Process. Also don't let the "directional" shape of the custom fool you, it's just a little set back in the stance. IF you move your bindings forward a tiny bit it will be a "twin". The good thing is you can't make the wrong decision, just go with what sounds better for you're riding style. A little smoother feel of the Process or a little quicker feel from the Custom.
Hey guys, I’m riding een custom x 17/18, I’m thinking of taking the deep thinker. The x for me is a little bit to snappy. I only ride on the prep piste. No park for me. Is it a downgraded or is it a good transition. I want a more smood ride a little relax. With the x there is no room for error you get your a** kicked if you don’t pay attention.

I’m an intermediate rider whose willing to purchase separate park board when I get there. Still debating between custom or custom x. What would you recommend for a high end snowboard. 167cm/65km/sz7 should I purchase 150cm or 155? Thanks :)
If you are an intermediate rider go with the Custom 150. The Custom is still an intermediate/advanced board so you will never outgrow the performance. The X version is awesome but like we said in the video it is a super aggressive board more for advanced riders.
Looking to upgrade from 2018 Ripcord 158, I am mostly an all mountain cruiser, learning to ride more switch and the occasional small jump or side hit. Instigator seems very similar to ripcord, would the Cartographer be the proper upgrade? Or maybe the Process, which comes in the Flying V? Also, saw the Kilroy could be good fit due to its twin shape.
You are correct, I would skip the Instigator and go to the Process. The Cartographer is a rad board but more for an All Mountain/Freeride style of riding. If you want to ride switch and hit jumps the twin shape of the Process will be more to your liking for sure. My mate is about 6ft tall and 60kg (132lb) but runs US12 size boots so he has to get a wide board. Given his light weight but tall figure, should he go for 154W (rated 54-82kg) or 158W (rated 68-91kg) on the Custom Flying V?
I would go with the 158, he definitely is a little light for his height but that extra height gives him more leverage so a slightly more stable board could help alot. Also with his size 12 depending on his riding style/ability level he doesn't necessarily NEED a wide board. Hi, I just bought the StepOn boots & bindings, and I’m between the custom & the HTH. I don’t ride switch or parks much. Which one do you recommend? What are the main differences?

I would go a little bigger. You are a little lighter for your height but you still have a higher center of gravity so you’ll need a little more stability
I was in the same situation. Went from the Foundation to the Element and what a difference. I'm charging much harder now and with way more confidence. The other board I was looking at was a Salomon Assassin.
@@rahulmenon4514 Speaking from my experience it is when I was going fast enough to where my board was chattering and vibrating like crazy. Also, it wouldn't hold an edge very well going faster. Too flexible. Basically it was fine when I wasn't going very fast on mellower terrain but it felt very unstable when i started to go faster on steeper terrain. Hope that helps.
Custom or Custom X that is the question. Most of my riding is out east - icy conditions are common. I'm not a super aggressive rider and never hit the park anymore. Looking for something I can keep for a while and just ride with comfort every time I go out. Worried the Custom X might be too much board but friends that have the Custom X (live out West) said I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
Honestly they are just as good and priced the same as all the other brand name companies when it comes to what goes into their products. They are not better but they are not worse either.
After trying a Custom, i want to sell my Capita DOA and buy one :) I'm not sure why they get so much hate, Burton invests a ton in R&D and they have a lot of great products.

You honestly can’t get any more versatile than the Custom. That boards does it ALL!

For park you want a softer board. Custom is all mountain (camber/WFO/stiffer) charger. Powder something more directional/S rocker/flat/tapered.

The Deep Thinker would be perfect. Little smoother feel than the Custom X and something that can ride all-mountain but will excel in the pow.

Honestly any bindings from the Mission on up could be a great match to be honest. Just depends on your riding style/needs/wants

There’s a lot of good options. You could do a Burton Process or a Arbor Element if you want to stick with Arbor.

Yeah, I would definitely go for the Custom. The Custom X Is basically a more aggressive version of the custom which is already an aggressive board.
