  • In this Motorcycle Vlog MartinTheVlogger reveals all of the Most common ISSUES and Troubles that Can Am Spyder Motorcycles has. I have done more than 80.000km with TheBeast [ BRP Can Am Spyder F3s ] since 2015 and many of the issues are my own experience. Some of them came to me, as I am SpyderLover and people do share their stories with me quite often.

    Issues described in the video:
    1 - Check from time to time if your connectors to Battery and tight correctly.
    2 - If you spot a leak under Can Am Spyder under the front trunk, it may be caused by leaking cooling fluid. There are most likely two things that can cause this.
    Cracked reservoir
    Coolant / radiator hose or clamp is bad
    3 - Squeaking brakes - well, they will squeak and you need to just ride them. Once you overcook the rotors, and they are waved, it aint gonna be better.
    Try maybe EBC brake pads, try brake cleaner or stay tune on Big ass brakes by MartinTheVlogger
    4 - Loosing Mirror plastics on F3T and or RT2020+
    My suggestion is to buy www.martinthevlogger.com/prod... . You can complian as much as you want, you can leave it on the dealer to constantly give you a new plastic as you loose it, or you can invest 20 Eur to fix the issue. Yes its not fair,. Life sometimes its not fair...
    5 - Flying plastic where the oil level is hidden on F3, F3s and F3T models. There is not much you can do,. just make sure you have properly closed it.! rather double check once you have play with that part, as this one piece is 120$
    6 - Hand Brake/ Parking brake issue - it wont release - If this happends to you right now, and you have no tools around you,. let the bike cool down,. try to apply brake pressure,. turn the key to starting position and pray.

    7 - Bad KEY message - if this happends to you right now, and you are struggling, all I can tell you is to keep on trying - insert the key, put it to starting position, turn on and off the red power button, let the bike cool down for 3 min and insert the key turn it on, turn it off, and repeat and repeat and repeat. Once we needed to do this for 40mins to make it work.
    If you are comfortably at home, BRP will need to either reprogram the keys or change the hole ignition box.
    8 - Red Dust - so many articles about this topic. The fact is, you need to chenge the front sprocket on your own costs. BRP will not deal with it in respect to warranty. The part numbers you will need are: new sprocket (part number #705503239) and new flanged bolt (part number #250001017)
    9 - FIX push button - the nanny will turn off the power thru corners when you have anything on the seat, behind you. One of the solutions is FIXED PUSH BUTTON - click here: www.martinthevlogger.com/prod...
    10 - Fuel cap wont close,. sometimes even the more pressure wont help. Permanent solution is: www.martinthevlogger.com/prod...
    11 - Belt vibrations at 100-130kmh [62-80mph] this issue is caused by missing belt tensioner. Newer models do have it, some models dont. Be careful, the roller that is ion the belt tensioner needs to be changed every 20-30.000km

      @@zouari95 hi buddy.. it can be anything,. from dead battery that even boosting will not help - try to use jump start cables or external jumpstart baterry to see if that works. it can be loose cable,. it can be cut cable from mouse etc... its such a wide question... i dont know,. you have asked me like i would ask you: My stomach hurts, do you have any idea what can be the problem???

      @@MartinTheVlogger it is 2020 man I boosted it work for 15 min then start bibing and come up in the screening (vvs fault )
      Then stopped working no more starting

    Hey Martin... great info as always. So many issues that would be funny if not true. Never saw the words Quality Control in the owner’s manual but love my F3.
    I think the Yugo was the only vehicle to come with more predictable issues! 🤪

    Awesome video mate. On the "Bad Key" issue. It happened to me when I was 600km away from home. The bezel around the key switch can be removed by 1/4 turn clockwise. Then you will see a black ring around the key switch, this is the antenna that reads the key. Lift it so it's closer to the key head and you should be good to go. Hope this helps someone

    Very good...some issues I can relate to. I am able to open the gas cap but every so often have to use PB Blaster or WD 40 and then it works for awhile. I have a 2018 F3 Limited and had an issue with the parking brake...had to get a new motor for the parking brake...I heard that 2018's had that issue. I also watched Pierre's video on how to get it unstuck. I have a lot of trouble with canceling the turn signal if my turn isn't sharp enough...any tricks for that? I have arthritis in my left thumb so that doesn't help matters any. Unfortunately, we just got the regular Kenda put on but next time will do the upgraded one. Thanks for all your tips. Too bad Can-Am wouldn't talk to you...Stay safe out there! 👍😊🏍️💜

      😁😁😁😁 i am sorry i dont have a trick for turn light signals. I dont use them a lot 😁😁😁😁 it slows me down 😆😆😆🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ as for BRP, naaah its all fine. I find positive things in all negatives that happens, and same here, at least i do not need to do them favours 😉😉😉😉 if you know what i mean

    My wife's 2014 can am ST has the same problems with losing antifreeze. The clamps they use are awful. All the hoses are leaking around those crap clamps. Her spyder, my mom's 2019, and my aunt's 2017 also has squeaky brakes and the 2009 we used to own had same issue with brakes.

    Rear license plate light on F3 likes to fall off..$60 to replace it and that rear shock is completely trash. All good, valid points and how you ride doesn't seem to matter.

    Actually, what drew me to your channel was because I swapped out the battery with a new one and now my gauge cluster seems to be powerless and it worked before the battery died

    I have a 2015 Can-Am Spyder if three it is leaking oil somewhere I don’t know if it’s the oil filter or the plug but do you have any comments on where those Leaks come from

    I have a problem with my 2010 spyder RT. The speedcontrol stopped working after being parked in the garage for a week. Nobody seems to find the fault. A lot of lights go on in the display and driving it like that is a problem it goes into limbmode. What is there to be done. It only has 17000 km on the clock

      Can be anything, from loose battery connector, old batery to fuse, to DESS Key fault... 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

    yeah watch that belt tensioner pulley...mine blew out at roughly 18k miles...get the lamonster upgrade!

    I’m an old mechanic. There were complaints about disc brakes when first deployed. The solution turned out to be a substance was placed between the pad and its backing.

      Its still onping problem. There is only one aftermarket solution that removes brake problem in general. Brp did nothing i am sorry :(

      Placed on the back side of the plate the brake is mounted. Worked for me on classic cars with disc brakes.

      @@arrie1953 everything is great and its awesome to search for solutions,,, buti am sorry but this does not work. Rotors are too small for the weight.. i done this, and it does not work :(((

    Hey Martin, I started putting my bike in neutral when I shut it off because when I park it, at random times it would not crank to start. I thought it might be the brake switch at 1st. Last night I went to start my bike and got nothing (no crank). I noticed the lights on the right side of the handlebar was not lit up. Suddenly they lit up and the bike then would crank and start. Tonight I was out riding and when I got home, I noticed the lights on the right side handle controls were off again. I shut the bike off and attempted to start it back up and got nothing. Have you ever dealt with this? I think I'm losing power to that side which would cut power to the start button.

      Never had this problem and i think it has something to do with some cable being "bad" that bring juicy to that side of the handlebars.m.

    These issues can be also because you beat the crap out of this vehicule when riding? Or may be you unit more prone to issues? Will also my F3 be affected? I usually drive it nicely.

    Why doesn’t the Can Am Spyder come with a “drive shaft” like the Ryker?!

      Noooooo... that is not the best solution. You need downshifting and upshifting.. its ok for ryker but spyders need some extra fun.. plus cvt has a lot of weak points.

    Today, riding in Colorado across Horsetooth Reservoir, there was a sudden 20 degree temperature drop and light snow flurries began. Approximately 5 miles further across the traction nanny kicked in and slowed the machine down to about 20 MPH. Regardless of my efforts, it wouldn't release until I turn around and headed back in the direction I came. It released almost immediately once I U Turned. Ten minutes back across, I pulled over to send a text. I killed the engine as I did so. When it was time to go the engine wouldn't start. After many failed attempts, it kicked over but gave the Transmission Failure Code. After several attempts...it finally went into gear, but the cornering nanny kicked in and was screwing up the ride home. Anyone ever experience this? Many thanks in advance if so!

    I HAVE A 2010 SPYDER. SUDDENLY IT WON'T GO OVER 40 MPH. AND THE GEAR SHIFTER WON'T GO PAST 4TH GEAR. HELP

      Well it can be thousand of reasons, your spyder being elder bike it can betransmission, low oil, clutch who knows like this 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ need to go to service center 💯😉

      Well, there is the main brake that stops the whoke bYke and you need to turn it on before leaving the bYke.. i think it is called handbrake or not? Or parking brake?

      Hmmm,,,... its everybodys call of course. But these are minor issues. But yes, these are the typical issues that most of us faced 😉🤘💯 however motorbike industry is not car industry. All bikes have issues and it does not matter 8f you buy bmw, ducati or harley 🤷‍♂️
