This is what I believe in: my core memories are my grandmas, aunts, and mom in the kitchen during the holidays or just a get together. I think that’s why I find comfort in cooking because it’s just a wholesome and flavorful memories. When a recipe is passed down, you know it’s a good thing! Thanks for sharing! 😊
Being Canadian, we always use maple syrup over corn syrup.

We missed out down south...but the people who taught us how to bake it survived the Great Depression....so Karo Dark Corn Syrup it was...O.G. recipe from like....the mid 18th century. You use what you have locally...and that was homemade corn syrup.
I think it would have cost us about 30 USD in today's money to have made it with maple syrup back in the 80s....but it's something to aspire to at last once.
Pecan pie is my absolute favorite pie and this looks sooo delicious!!🙂

My Aunt Annette would make me PECAN pies every time I would visit. And then send me home with a pie. I was about 10 in 1970. She passed about 1974 , I'll never stop thinking about her Love for the whole family. Mention PECAN pie and my Heart warms with Loving memories. MERRY Christmas Aunt Annette. ❤

I’m surprised how little sugar is in this. I’ve seen recipes call for like 1.5 cups. This is a fantastic recipe. There are even light corn syrups that will get the job done just to make this even a little lighter. I must try!!

Lol....Same exact story, we have this pie every year and I would never eat it because it just looked gross to me. Until one day I tried it and now it's my favorite pie. I surely didn't know what I was missing all those years. It's that warm nutty flavor mixed with cream. Mmmmmmm! Mmmmmm! Mmmmmmm! ❤😋❤

I’m Canadian so I make pecan butter tarts. Pecan pie is as close to that as you’re going to get without it being a butter tart lol.

In the south we use half dark corn syrup half light and half white sugar and half brown sugar we also heat the mixture up do dissolve the sugar
Looks absolutely yummy! And with a homemade crust with tall rim to boot. My sister makes the pecan pie every Thanksgiving and Christmas, it is so delicious. She actually browns the butter rather than just melting it.

Pecan Pie:
Mix -
3 eggs
1/2 c sugar
1/2 c Cooled melted butter
1 c dark corn syrup
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/4 tsp pure ground vanilla
(Don't froth)
Add-
Chopped Pecans
Whole pecans to
Chilled pie crust
Pour on mixture
Bake 375° for 40-45min
All best recipes are memorized. Cooking with my nana: she just says-use about this much 😅😅❤

Looks good..a little different from mine..I would advise Toasting the pecans. Adds so much more flavor. One I learned that never did it differently.

My mom makes a pecan pie too. It's delicious! Now she pours the "batter" in and the pecans will be on the bottom. When it's done, they are all at the top. Magical is so many ways!
No need to use corn syrup, I make mine with brown sugar, and it comes out just as gooey and delicious, this pie looks fantastic though ❤
