You don’t have to go to top schools to get into big 4 in Canada either. Here in Vancouver many of colleagues went to smaller colleges in addition to those who went to UBC and SFU. I think it comes down to how well you sell yourself, grades and your school are more of a secondary factor. In Vancouver I know PwC has recruitment events at schools like Douglas college and Langara.

My school has good relationships with Deloitte and a lot of my schoolmates end up going there, especially on the audit side. When we need alumni referrals they are always eager to help. That's how I got in as well - offer on the way!

Deloitte and PwC will be similar, honestly. The difference is on departments, specific partners, clients and team.
Main difference i would name is Deloitte is less audit focus, at least in my country, and has a bigger consulting footprint. Deloitte tend to have a bigger tech structure, but depends on countries, nearshore and available hubs.
So it all falls to: country, department, and team.
All b4 are marketed as huge companies, but tend to be very locally managed, so is more a humongous group of small and middle size companies

It’s hard to compare cultures generally - there are teams within PwC Consulting that are brilliant culture wise and others where the toxicity is prevalent. And this is not to single out PwC because this is the case across the board. A lot of it comes down to the partners and the respective leaders in the team and these leaders vary soooo much in style from team to team.
If I had to rank PwC vs Deloitte vs EY....PwC wins the culture vote. But at the same time I’ve felt that EY & Deloitte pay more attention to perfecting project delivery + maintaining relationships with clients and this is HUGE for me personally because as much as it is grand to be enjoying yourself with your internal team, life is made so much easier when your clients are happy. You win some, you lose some :)

Most people whom excel at physics become engineers. In fact physics is a prerequisite in almost all fields of engineering at almost all universities with the exception of maybe software engineering. Engineers will share some of the exact same modules a strait up physicist would be taking but not always vice-versa.
Physics teaches you the principals, and then makes you apply them to a particular scenario. Instead of teaching you the answer to a scenario.
Ipso-facto, this makes physics unique and distinct in its own right.
