I love how they refered to the boss as a female
🙌🏼
the other way around would've been seen as sexist lol double standard
Yes that made me smile and I thought the same thing
Girl bosses are tough to convince
Ambika Ali why?
I’m from Japan, planning to get one-year sabbatical from 2023/1 to travel. (Discussing with my boss now)
It will be my last 20’s. I’m a bit scared bc I will be a solo female traveler, but I’m doing it! I’ve dreamed of this since college.
Wish me luck♡
Also wishing you luck to all the determined future travelers! See you out there😊
I took a sabbatical right after highschool and would'nt change that year for anything. I went to Vietnam for 3 months to volunteer in an orphanage, traveled around Vietnam and Cambodia and went to Buenos Aires Argentina for 4 months to improve my spanish and 1 month of traveling through Argentina, Chile, Peru and Bolivia. This was the best year of my life. I've learned sooo much about myself, the world surrounding me... My advice is just do it. if you don't do it know you'll regret it. It's just a year. A year means so little compared to how long we live. If you don't like your job, save up money and quit it, go live your life, experience freedom, new cultures, new people. One thing that I will tell to my children is to travel as much as they can and take a year off.
I turn 20 in a week and of course I dream of quitting my gas station job and traveling the world. It’s just overwhelming that at 20, you get hundreds of perspectives and voices trying to tell you what you should do. I have a plan in mind on how to travel and still get paid, which has been shut down many times by “dream killers” (something an inspirational speaker said) but I’m still gonna try! I am going into nursing school and I hope to work with first aid hospitals in third world/war torn countries as well as places like rural India where medical care may not be A+. Volunteer or paid, I get to do what I want and travel for it! I get to help people and travel which is everything I want:) thanks Brothers for inspirational video. #nurtureyourdreams
It’s never easy to do, especially since a lot of the time the “dream killers” are the closest people to you - but at some point you either show them they are wrong or let them kill your dream. Choose the first option ✌🏼
Did you do it??
Recently I found my passion and
when I'm not doing this now I don't feel
complete. I have started my travel channel with my partner as we try to make the best possible videos so our viewers can feel like they are on
the journey with us. We love doing it and I hope one day I am able to put all my time into this rather than work and do it!!!
And thats how you provide value for your audience! You're such a great inspiration for my channel. Keep it up guys :)
Providing value for our audience is our number one goal! Hope you found this helpful!
Thanks guys, this video was actually posted at the perfect time for me. So thank you!
I was waiting so long for this video to come out. Thank you so much!
Well now you have it :)
You guys should change the name of the video to how to get a sabbatical lol u talked about that for 80% of the video. This video is not how to quit ur job and travel the world. This video is how to get a vacation then return to work.
Nat thank you. The caption doesn't match the video.
Exactly, and them talking about unlocking creativity. It's a pile of bullshit.
Realistically as well, most employers don't allow for this either. I can tell you that in the 4 different jobs I've had, none of my bosses would have allowed me to do this, regardless of working casual, part time or full time.
I like these guys and the content they produce but the title of this video is super misleading and only relates to a small handful of people that would have the option to take a sabbatical.
Thank you Vagabrothers, you inspired me to start my own travel vlog channel, cheers!
Awesome tips! I’m lucky I live a home so 3 years ago saved up and went to Spain for 7 months and end of this month gonna vlog my way round South America and maybe central.
You guys are an inspiration!
I did this 5years ago I travelled to Thailand Australia and Indiafor 6 months and I am about to do it again going different places this time and I always went back to work I live in London and I am 56 year old woman always backpack alone
Great tips guys! Especially the part about really making an effort to improve yourself and your skills and using that to help convince your boss. If you can convince them that it’ll make you a better employee they might go for it!
¡Saludos vagamigos!
That’s one of the most important parts!
Love this! Instantly bought The Artists Way after watching this video!
Truly inspiring!
This is also a good idea for homemakers after the kids have become adults. Because here's the thing---travel costs are mostly airfare and the roof over your head. Why not just stay longer? A person can shop and cook in a place with a stove and it can be cheap. I know too many women who wouldn't dream of going somewhere without their kids, or their husband, and it's really sad. A secure and happy home allows for individuals within the pod personal growth experiences! For those of us who don't work, why should we permanently stick around the house? Jeepers! Also, we never need to stop learning new things. Just because we are required to learn a foreign language in college doesn't mean it needs to end there. I studied French over 20 years ago, and decided it was high time to get it out and dust it off! I've since held some pretty great conversations in Montpellier, Marseille, Nice, Eze, Antibes.... As of last year I began studying Italian on DuoLingo (which is free!), and now my Italian is even better than my French! Thanks to AirBnB I have a great apartment for an entire month this Spring and I am going full immersion. I a NOT going to Instagram it, Twitter it or Facebook it.....I don't have social media accounts (other than watching other people's CZcams videos). This is for me alone---and then my husband, who will join me later in the month and then whisk me away to Paris. If absence makes the heart grow fonder...then I say "ooh la la!" The planet is big--we've got to explore it!!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! 😘 Though I'm still not going anywhere soon but this gives me so much good vibes ♥
Vega brothers! I love with my whole heart! 😄🍀❤
You guys are great, thanks for the tips
Sabbatical is a largely alien concept in Asian countries. And paid sabbatical? Lord have mercy on ya :P !
What about western companies working in Asia? Fortune 500 companies usually have these same policies worldwide
i really am watching this video at work
👏🏼👏🏼😂😂
Your first statement got me 😂😂
Literally watching this video at work !!!
Perfect timing... Really... PERFECT TIMING
Good, glad we could help!
Awesome video, as always guys. Thank you.

Completely Enjoyed Ur Advice May Be Getting There Soon.
I'm quitting my shitty job in 4 months to spend a year overseas. Spent the last few years thinking about this trip and have had certain things get in the way of actually doing it. It's finally underway though and I can't bloody wait!
There you go Angus! Hope you didn’t pull a Vagabrosef when you quit though haha
Hahaha I'm still yet to tell them, oops! Will be breaking the news to them soon though and of course won't make that mistake haha. Cheers guys :)

My husband and I moved abroad last year. We are moving again this year. I wanted a different life and quit my old life. I went on stress leave for a couple months then I quit my job :)
You're amazing! As always! Peeeace✌
Far too kind Armani 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Awesome tips guys! Perfect steps to make the plan - we did exactly that! The biggest step is mentally convincing yourself but once you're on that flight, somehow your brain just clicks to "all in". Glad we can continue to follow along!
We took the inspiration and created our own channel - being videographers, it was a natural step! Hopefully you can take a peek at our channel one day :) Keep up the amazing work as always!!
1:40 Marko to Alex switch look exactly the same!!
Great video!!
First time to hear this ‘sabbatical’. First thing first is to know if my boss new about it. Thank you guys! Interesting video.
You’re welcome! Hopefully your boss has heard of it!
I love it.... 😘😘😘
danngg marko you've been working out!? haha nice video guys I love the tips, I left my office job years ago and hope I never have to go back! Teaching is a much more rewarding gig :)

Great video guys, a lot of helpful advice and very inspirational for those considering this as an option 😀
Thanks Aaron - glad you found it useful dude 🤙🏽
Keep up boys! love ur Videos
🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thats my kind of video...!
Thanks for the tips guys! Your videos have inspired me to make travel videos, as well as a series where I interview trumpet players around Europe!
What I've run into now is that even though I'm being frugal with my money, transportation, food, and hostels (only used for emergencies when I can't find a Couchsurfing host or know anyone I could crash with in the city) are starting to add up.
Any tips for making money on the road or to get people to sponsor my travel? Anyone have tips or tricks that have worked for them?
Is there any way to quit school and travel the world? 😂😂
Mercy K online school? :)
Lena Gallo tell that to my parents haha.
A gap year between high school and college is one reasonable time to pull this off. If your parents/guardians approve of travel before graduating from high school, summer volunteering in another country is one way to do this if not a family vacation. Gap years can also be applied to time between university years/semesters, or even before looking for a job after graduating. There are ways to complete your education and travel, unless of course your parents/guardians homeschool and love to travel too; wouldn't that be something? This could especially work well if you obtain a solid internet connection and take online classes.
I know this was a joke but I'm trying to earn a college degree right not and really relate to the feeling that school could be holding me back from traveling. However, I was able to secure a study abroad scholarship from the United States and I am now currently living in Russia! I never thought I could do both but here I am so I encourage you to look into whatever options are out there for students to travel and see which ones could work for you. :) Best of luck!
Varius Kidd I’m just finishing up my gap year between high school and college right now and it has honestly been one of the greatest things that has ever happened to me. I certainly wasn’t ready for college last year but now I am revived, confident, and more mature. I got to travel both within the US and live in Costa Rica. With my experiences I also got to volunteer and earn a scholarship so I would definitely say it was all worth it! I am a huge promoter of gap years now so if anyone has any questions I would love to answer them!
Seriously! I'm in the same position!
Awesome video! I'm just trying to figure out what jobs I can do/get that incorporate architecture or design that would allow me to do this.
I did it ! i quit everything and im starting vanlife. I made a video on my channel of my story :) im so happy i subscribed to this channel. Life comes first !
pitching this to my boss monday
Winners Hustle!!!!
Awesome video as always guys! I managed to actually do both, I work in software development so all I need to work is wifi and my mac (and a desk doesn't hurt) and I've always loved traveling, so I made a deal with my boss to work while traveling! I've been backpacking for 100 days in France already and with no return date in the horizon ;)
Nailed it Fabian!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Great video's guys. I would love to do this. My wife and I are exploring this option right now. We don't have a huge amount but a nice amount. I think it is definitely possible. I work for a European bank which they are more attuned to things that really matter in life. Hope it works for us.
Bello ❤️
This is exactly I did, take the leap... haha.. awesome video guys (Y)
4:33 .. the best HAHA
u guys rock
totally at work right now- got 23 minutes left before I get off.. life is great!
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Super and very interesting Video
@Thnks #Vagabrothers
I live in California and a lot of people don't know that you are eligible here for unpaid up to 3 month off just to take care of a family member, I used the 3 months for a Southeastern Europe awesome exploring.
Those opening questions were 💯 - the video may be titled "How to Quit Your Job", but for me the most valuable part was spending time to introspect *why* you want this sabbatical in the first place and setting expectations. Going into a sabbatical without concrete results for how it will make *you* better is a recipe for aimlessness and sabbatical burnout 😉 Thanks Vagabros!
So far 26 upset bosses about this video 😂
Hahaha 🤷♂️
I like watching Cesc Fabregas gives pieces of advice in travelling😂😂
hi vagabodies i'm a big fan of this channel keep working and congratulations! please guys i want to know about the music intro. thanks!
What do you do for health insurance?
Great video who else liked this before watching
I WAS LITERALLY JUST THINKING HOW MUCH I MISSED YOU AND HOW MUCH I WANTED TO WATCH A VIDEO OF YOU GUYS IM GONNA CRY THANK YOU SO MUCH 😭😂
And also I'm just having a break from studying my TEFL course so I can get the hell out of England and go travelling you guys are such an inspiration
Good luck on the exams! Where are you going to teach English?
vagabrothers I will be on my way to Argentina in September ✈️✈️✈️
I hadn't travelled for 5 years. I decided to go visit Jamaica and visit family for only a meager 2 weeks. It transformed my life!!! Long story short, I will use my skills away from the health industry to get into property development and create a tourism and hospitality in the countryside of the Caribbean. I managed to get 5-1/2 weeks off end of and beginning of the financial year to get relevant time off. It's awesome welcome to my world on the road- Peace and One Love!!!😎❤
Patricia Ejiofor i don't know you but am so happy for you 😁
Magdalena Caldas: Ohhh! Thank you. I guess it was my time for a well needed transformation and this is it... My co-workers kept telling me for weeks following that I looked great and received emotional support for my new venture. I am inspired, I hope you are too 😁👍💕
Patricia Ejiofor i am; just trying to figure out a way of making my dreams a reality but hopefully one day i will. love and light to you 😊❤
Madalena Caldas Give yourself time. I believe it will fall into place eventually. I know this because what you were feeling has happened to me... One Love Madalena❤👍
thanks so much :D xxx
Guys, I hope you do understand How AWESOME YOU ARE!!!👍🏻
Amazing video & brilliant humor!
Cheers! We appreciate the support!
This video's intro was actually hilarious because I was sitting at work dreaming of quitting. They called me out good.
I love surfer dude Alex 😂
“Vagabrosef”
Can you please do a video on safest/ cool places to travel solo 🧳?
I'm 15 years old and my plan is basicly finish school, start a job besides school, Save up money, in the meanwhile I'm developing my recording and editing skills, when I'm done with school I am have a 1 year break to see if this is really what I want and if this is going to work out. Wish me luck
Sounds like you don’t need luck Tim! Well on your way dude! Keep it up!
This video is just what I needed, color me inspired! What is your advice for someone like me who is in a long-term relationship (4 years dating, living together, and he JUST accepted a full-time position for his new career) with someone who is afraid to fly? We are going to Spain next month, but after that I may need to solo travel which freaks me out. I have a full-time job too which I'm settling into. I'm thinking of taking maybe a month off for sabbatical? Please reply I love you both 💖
Right now I'm working on educating myself so that I'll have the skills I need for a job that lets me work online from wherever I am
Smart move!
thanks! I hope it turns out to be worth it :)
Always baffled at how you guys don't have more subscribers because your videos are sooooooo gooood!!!
It’s all good Alexis - it ain’t about the numbers, as long as we can help you and all the other Vagabuddies travel better, smarter and more sustainably - we are stoked!
vagabrothers I appreciate your videos so much, very well edited!
What're some sources that y'all would recommend to research before traveling. I am especially interested in East Europe, the Caucasus Region, and Central/West Asia. Currently a high school student without a definite plan, and I'm just looking for knowledge. Any tips would be appreciated, thanks :)
Do you guys ever plan on going to Malta? There aren't any good travel vlogs for Malta and since you guys are my favorite Id love to see what you guys have to say about the place
I was really watching this video at work 😂😂
Most US employees have group health insurance through their employer. When one is traveling the world unemployed, what are the best health insurance options?
can you do a video about working holiday visa the countries that offer them and how to go about getting one please.
Yes! We will add it to our list :)
If you could make a video on a example travel plan . Where someone could just watch the video and have a rough play by play template. Including approx costs, go here visit this , travel east, etc
Broseph should have his own CZcams channel! 😂😂
Hahaha 🤙🏽🤙🏽
New question. How can you find out if you even have the opportunity to take a sabitical?
I wish I could be able to do this :😊
Wow vagabrothers shows the Cheapest Budget Travel Destinations in the World. very nice
Nice vid. I might go on maternity leave ;)
That intro really hit me because I’m on my break at work and I felt like you were speaking to me hahahaha
Hahahaha I guess we know our audience! 😉
Any advice on how to get a remote job so that I can be making money WHILE traveling? I'm about to be fresh out of college so I don't exactly have a ton of money saved up...
Marko your beared should have its own CZcams channel
Hahahaha! What should it be called?
@@vagabrothers marconificent or marcoelious beard. I feel most women would agree it would be approved with the word orgasm somewhere in the title like the saying control your orgasm, it is just my beard. But I think others would think it is too cocky. I would also consider Marco Antonio Olmo google him in relationship to the history of beards.
Brilliant!! I hope this idea integrates more into our work culture and not just at upper echelons of industry. And, Marko, you suggested a female author!?! I never thought it would happen 😢😋. I love the artist way❤️!!
It is possible at my work place too, but too bad it requires tons of money to see the world :(
2:15 click where for inspiration?
I quit my job to travel one time. I wanna do it again. 🤗
Next year I'll have my graduation (Abitur in Germany) and I don't want to go studying...
I don't say "never" but just not in the next few years.
I want to go into another country with a friend and work there and see the new country.
But we have no idea how to plan/start/just how to do it...
Any tips?
If you’re an EU citizen (assuming you are because you’re studying in Germany) it’s really easy to move around the EU and work anywhere. Take advantage of that and go for it!
You promised this video few weeks ago and thank you on that :). Can you be more specific on word sabbatical. Does it applies on every job in the world or some specific? Thnx :)))
It's not universal, but it is common for professional jobs. It's worth asking around your office to see if anyone has done it before
Guys , awesome stuff as always . I wanna travel the world, pursue my photography passion and get paid doing it. How do I do that?
Have you watched our video “How to Travel the World For Free”?
vagabrothers, I'm about to guys 💕
