The carrot and the stick line came from the phrase "Carrot and Stick" which literally symbolize award and punishment. The expression came from horses where they were given carrots when they do something good and get hit by a stick when they did something bad.
The bts world soundtrack is underrated in itself honestly. There are a lot of good tracks that you don't hear people listen to. Anywho suga's voice in this song fit so well with the sound of juice wrld. The track suited both of them and it flowed extremely well together.

I think Yoongi's part was actually only just recorded extremely recently as he was literally just in the studio in LA the other week during his break working on this track which is why he stayed behind in The US for a bit longer instead of going back to Korea!
The Juice WRLD producers posted photos on Instagram of Yoongi working with them in the studio and stuff 😁💜
When he said “purple potion” he was talking about lean which is purple cough syrup mixed with soft drinks and juice had an addiction with it so when he says “stop sipping purple potions for you babe” he was talking about his gf who wanted him to be clean. Hope this helped!

There is a metaphor for reward and punishment based on the carrot and the stick. So I think that’s what this is referring to. Basically it has to do with thoughts of can you get a horse to perform better with reward/positive reinforcement (a carrot) or punishment/negative reinforcement (hitting it with a stick). So I think Yoongi is saying there was more bad/negativity in the relationship than good/positive things.

Just for future reference, I would recommend NOT using Jaeguchi for lyrics videos. They are well known for rushing their translations after music drops just so they can be one of the first color coded videos up and get views, but their translations are very inaccurate 99% of the time.
