yoongi’s lyrics are more heart broken when you can understand Korean. feeling much more vulnerable and miserable lyrics with pronunciation and intonation. The meaning of the words was not fully translated in English..🥲I don’t know how to translate the exact feeling of it, either. suga sounds like giving a sigh of resignation.

I don't think you have to have been in a romantic relationship to write deep lyrics (but suga deserves all the love in the world and I hope he's getting it!) as creators, producers and writers, we pull inspiration from a lot of different things, sometimes things that are seemingly unrelated. I love yoongi because he is so open about the pain he has been through in his work (even unrelated to relationships). Strongest dude I know, seriously. The best artists are the ones that bleed through their pens and slice old wounds for the sake of art. Sad, but also healing.

    Suga's Verses Translated & Explained!!! 💟💟💟
Another name for love is the color "blue"
    Sometimes it's fresh/lively and sometimes it's cold
Love is always accompanied by loneliness
Yes, I'm lonely even when we're together.
    I don't need (love) anymore
Sometimes it makes me laugh like a crazy guy, yeah
And it makes me cry a lot, yeah.
But that's a part of the real me too, so I thank you for giving it to me
    We fought a lot, right?
Not with carrots (reward) but instead with whips (punishment).
    It's such extreme chemistry.
The spark is gone and I only realized it was love when it was over.
    Notes:
Verse 1: Suga has previously talked about how he thinks blue is simultaneously a sad and joyful color. He says it's the one that best describes himself. It seems the imagery is lost in translation a bit and blue is fresh like spring and also cold like winter.
Verse 2: He brings up how you can feel alone or isolated even when you're "in love." This emphasizes that Suga's verse is about the end of a relationship and he is ready to let it go. He recognizes that it has brought him happiness and tears, and he doesn't regret it. It just made him truly feel what was already in him. Meanwhile Suga is ready to let go of the idea of love, not just this particular relationship. (Thinking there isn't a love out there for him?)
Verse 3: Pretty self explanatory. We don't realize what we have until it's gone. We take love for granted and meanwhile we hurt each other to get control in the relationship. The carrot-whip line lost me for a while but it's based on an established theory called the "carrot and stick theory."
"Carrot and stick motivation is a motivational approach that involves offering a “carrot” (a reward-for good behavior) and a “stick” (a negative consequence for poor behavior)."
So what Suga implies is that they hurt each other to create the relationship that they individually wanted, instead of encouraging/building a relationship together.
(I'm a native English speaker so I didn't do a literal word by word translation like the video, but an interpretive one that puts it into sentences/context! Literal doesn't convey the meaning! 💜)

It has sides to this, the first is, a heartbreak isn't a heartbreak if you're feelings weren't involved.
It's like ending things but realizing that all the feelings that you felt, was love all along.
Like thinking back and realizing, oh, so that was love. We were in love after all.
As that was me too, I think he was saying, that he experienced that feeling, where one laughs and cries, I think he is thanking the person who made him feel that kind of emotion.

Sometimes, he still writes lyrics about heartbreak. Suga is actually a deep romantic. On his birthday, he stayed up all night writing thank you notes for his fans on fan day, back in the days when they were not too famous so fans came up and talk to each member. He said he feels bad because he was only able to write 100 and it was not enough to pass out. He stayed up all night. Imagine, how lucky Suga's girl will be. Yoongi writes like a Pisces whether its under his Suga or Agust D name. Pisces are unpredictible in their feelings from one day to the next and are also sociable and loners at the same time. They are manly and yet feminin in the way they express emotions. They seem to be in a constant swing. All of his lyrics are a ying yang, up down, happy sad, good bad balance. Here he did it again with love containing lonliness. He did in Seesaw with the idea of going back and forth in love. He did it in Oultra: Tear - talking about forever and then destroying each other mercilessly. He did it in People(Agust D) with "you become my mediocrity and my mediocrity becomes your speciality". He did it in the video of Deswita with good Yoongi facing off with bad Yoongi. I just love the sound and the depth of everything he writes. It shows maturity, examination of self and being present in this world.

The amount of racism that people have been giving Suga is so petty for no reason. Like… it’s a beautiful song. Why he mad at all?

This song is such a masterpiece and it's crazy how some "fans" of juice are not only hating on the song but Suga. It's fine if you don't resonate with the song because you can't understand the language. If you're that artistically tubed out that's you. It's your choice to not like the song. Everyone has their preference but to hate on another artist and disrespect his heritage is disgusting. These two have worked together in the past and have supported each other and continue to even after juice passed and for some of his "fans" to be so disgusting man... I don't believe it. Im a Suga stand and BTS fan and I'm a Juice fan. Alot of Army's became fans of Juice wrld after the first collab he did with them and after finding out about this collaboration the Fandom has been working their buts off to promote the song and get it to number one. They've done nothing but showed love to this collaboration.
Good thing I don't use reddit because I'd honestly probably pop off.
