    Great video, I’ll just update as someone who graduated from PLC Seniors this summer. There was only 1 PFT in our 6 week course at the beginning with a 235 minimum to remain in the program. Most of the difficulty came with overall fatigue and the forge, so if you can train rucking or walking under load that’d be my recommendation. We didn’t have many PT sessions and they weren’t very difficult, so your advice on fartleks didn’t apply to our class at least. Our class didn’t do the fartlek course outside of Montford point, but being good at running and pull-ups is still a great idea. If you don’t lose your cool or get injured OCS will be a good experience.

    Appreciate the advice, Josh. Can you make a video outlining your weightlifting routine?

    Hey man randomly came across your videos. Pretty good gouge. I’m attempting to inter service transfer and attend in May. Curious if you’re familiar with mountain tactical OCS prep programs and your opinion?

      Not familiar. I have no advice to give on that, unfortunately.

      30yr Marine here. One of the most helpful things to do is to use the cable pull down machine to get your reps up. Too many of my Marines would be in the weight room doing the normal 8-12 reps and wondered why they couldn’t make 20 (the max score previously).
      Do a heavy workout once a week with reps under 10. Then the next workout get your reps up to 15-20.
      I always followed the Push, Pull, Leg day routine, 4th day rest, repeat. So you’re doing each body part twice a week.
      It worked for me and I did 20 pull-ups my last PFT at 53yrs old.
      You can do it!

    How do you avoid shin splints?

    • @MrJoshHodge
      @MrJoshHodge  Před 3 měsíci +3

      strengthen your calves and legs. Lose some body weight. Ultimately shin splints just happen from a sudden shock on your legs when running. Make sure you follow the 10% rule as well per week.
