It would be sort of hilarious if at the end of this "The Chase" sequel season, the big amazing trophy was just a "recipe for biscuits." 🤣
Not gonna lie, it’s on the list of how this uncaring production could go. Burnhams Biscuits.
"Die Eier von Satan" - Tool's song that's actually Mr. Keenan's grandmother's cookie recipe.
Your progenitor's tech is in another castle.
1:51 THANK YOU! You're the FIRST reviewer of this episode who has stated that THIS is the primary reason that Ruhn’s soldiers turned on him, not just because Moll is the widow of the Scion.
I thought it was fairly apparent that his betrayal was from disregarding every tradition and rite they had, from Moll's status, to breaking a Tergun and then the history within the Archives. All of it, which why I found him being so short-sightedly evil.
Ir wiould have had more weight if Burnham had admitted to herself that growing up on Vulcan amongst a whole planet of holier than thou people was the source of her inferiority complex--especilally since the people who she loved couldn't love her back.
Well, couldn't show that they loved her back...
@@dupersuper1938 well vulans can in fact feal love but its not in the usal sesne anyway also vulcans way of fealing love and affection is the pure oppsite of what betaziods are. but both vulacns and betaziods do have epathic and telepthy capbleltys however. so bascly valcus do have feelings but they are moslty keept very very deep and in control untill its bascly vulcan mateing session. (val har par is what the vulcans call it themslefs) so heres the thing vuclans do in fact have feallinhgs but the vulcans normaly will only show clear affcetion to the ones they love the most. heck vulcans also ironicly have one of the most brutal way to solve issues with three way love trangles dispite bleing purly logcal. how they do that is that they bacly they solve it with a one way duel to the death bacly. also heres some triva about spock in the starktrek TOS. the thing is did you know spock almost killed kirk for thise very reason once over vulcan love . so yes vulcans do have fealings but they only show there most affecson for the ones closest to there hart and soul bascly. also never be in a love trangle with two or more vulcans in it. this is due to high fatalty rates from duels to the death by vulcan law when sovling issues of who should be marreid and what not.
@@dupersuper1938 Even that is debatable. Sure not gonna be gushing and whatever, but there's reasons Sarek has married (and been able to) multiple humans and it can't be he just found women that are super into being emotionally neglected. But in their own reserved Vulcan way.
@@rubaiyat300 There's not much debate. Sarek and Spock obviously loved Amanda. Amanda read Spock and Michael bedtime stories. Picard told Perrin how much Sarek loved him after they'd mind-melded. Vulcans repress their emotions, but they have very powerful ones.
Thank you for these videos. I can't watch Discovery anymore, since I don't want to pay for yet another streaming service. With this, I at least get a summary of what's going on.
It makes me a bit sad that you have to start the video by asking people to keep their comments civil. I know that not everyone likes Discovery, but I would have hoped that the dislike doesn't have to translate into angry comments on review videos.
The whole puzzle thing makes no sense. The scientists made the puzzle because they don't want the Progenitor tech to fall into the wrong hands, but even if the "right person" solves the puzzle, that person won't live forever. There's no way to guarantee that the Progenitor tech won't fall into the wrong hands after the person who found it dies. There's nothing to stop someone else from stealing the tech. Heck, the fact the Breen were able to steal the puzzle shows that it's a terrible security measure.
Not only that, but the scientists supposedly created the puzzle during the Dominion War. And the Founders were masters of deception and subterfuge. They were trying to hide the Progenitor tech from shapeshifters who would be most capable of tricking others into finding it so that they could steal it.
Lwaxana Troi was unable to read Odo's thoughts so I doubt the Betazoid mindscape program would even work for a Founder. Even if it did, the program is running in the user's mind so there's no possible way to "trick" it.
@geleto2 I think what was meant was that the founders could trick someone else, who could pass the mind test, into doing it.
well they did atcaly put some of that beta canon from star trek online in there. so yes this would make sense so beta canon can be used to help glue alot of alhpa canon together when needed.
I still think in the end they will somehow resurrect Kwejian. The tree makes me think that even more
Yeah I think you might be right…
I had not even considered that, I was thinking more small scale but that makes for a good possibility, depending on how powerful the tech is!
@@CertifiablyIngame All we need is someone go to some random nebula and plant a Genesis Device
about the breen
i like the little lore additions we got and the way they re-contextualize their role in the dominion war somewhat
that them looking down on their "solid" forms could have earned them the founders trust and explained their greater independence as opposed to the subjugation cardassians had.
i have seen some comments saying this diminishes their political motives but i disagree, it's just a little extra thing that i like and fits the founders' and the breen's xenophobic attitude, it's an alliance that makes sense.
all that said the breen... in this episode seem to have come around to having a human leading them pretty quickly lol
thanks for covering this series! looking forward to the finale
well humans also in thr past would also have gone thew this stage back in the 21st centrey withthemslefs allready but have gone past that stage but the human could allreadu understand ther pont of view haveing allready had a history of how and why that is and can work aronud that issue.
You should make Doctor Who reviews again. This last episode was legit good.
The first episode of the series was not to my sense of humour, the second was better and the third I actually really enjoyed.
A VERY good review! Rick is insightful regarding the story, respectful of canon links, and . . . charitable . . . when discussing questionable choices made by the creative staff. Just what I want from a Trek review.
Those are things he has to do if he wants to get paid to shill for Fake Trek.
Oh, Efrosian? I thought we were seeing our first Klingon this century
Not going to lie, I had to look up the species as I forgot them almost entirely.
Discovery would have been SO much better if they had actual tests of the good sides of humanity. And also the races hiding the pieces should have been the Voyager species instead! Such as one piece hidden in fluidic space... And the last piece is hidden by "Q". THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH COOLER!
She’s Michael burnhum she gets things done laugh
Burnham does everything because she doesn’t want to be responsible for the death of anyone hence her old Captain. She reminds me of Janeway. She also seems like she doesn’t trust anyone to do the most dangerous tasks.
Another great review for a great episode, I liked this one a lot!
That is nuts I just "won" earned the Defiant on the Treak game I've been playing. 😅
Which one? I stopped playing whatever the one is they advertised due to that incursion stuff around the musical.
I've said elsewhere that I don't like Moll. So I am not a fan of the Breen rallying around her. I did like how the Breen helmets have remote interfaces that allow visual access. I think Rhys has essentially been confirmed as 2nd Officer which is nice for him and I like that Tilly was his right hand officer. I wish we had more Jett Reno this season. She always brings a laugh.
the primark is a cartoon villain, but otherwise i really enjoyed this episode,.
i am AWFUL with names but the efrosian librarian was a lot of fun, nice to see that species back.
Can you do an index video on the Kriosians from Star Trek?
Make a video on the STO Atlantis Temporal Destroyer Class!!!!
I liked this episode, and am liking this season overall, but one thing really bugs me. I don't mind the Breen getting through the libraries shields: they were shown to have powerful, advanced weapons way back in the Dominion War that made mincemeat out of Federation shields in their first encounter, plus - being a much smaller power in terms of territory - they may not have been hit as hard by the Burn as vast, multi-species powers like the Federation, plus, while one would expect such a long hidden facility like this secret library to have super advanced defenses, that is just an assumption. They may have come to depend on their frequently changing location and ability to create calm points in hostile environments like the Badlands for protection. My issue is with Federation ships still having so much trouble with the Badlands, and with the Galactic Barrier last season...and Tilly's shuttle getting into a classic Trek shuttle crash at the drop of a hat. It really, really, REALLY makes the show feel like it's still back in the 23rd century and not nearly ONE THOUSAND years later.
ngl the outro in 2 X speed hits differnt 😱🤯
The leader of the breen imperium is a Primarch? Wow
I really liked this episode it made burnham vunerable and allowed her to open up about a her insecurities.
also I liked the pacing it was quite fast and got things going.
I'd also like to see what effects this episode will have on burnhams and bookers relationships.
Season 5 Episode 9 from the Red Angel Timeline has a nice huge library. Aren't there not supposed to be books in the 32nd century @CertifiablyIngame? Oh wait these are different events in a different multiverse of Star Trek from your times media of the 21st century.
I thought this season has the some of the best performance of series.
Totally agree that Ruhn, as written, was a total moron. Also, tho, I found Burnam's self-analysis to be facile and almost unwatchably cringe-y. Of course the biggest Mary-Sue in the galaxy is afraid she might not actually save the day single handed every single time. Also also, mazes and chases are booooring. Enjoyed the librarian tho.
I will avoid further comment under fear of prosecution, and merely express how glad and grateful I am that this ........show....is almost finished.
New badlands needs a different name. "LITERALLY HELL" would work nice i feel
It's a cutting from the world root i think can he not replant it on a new world
It's real fucked up that there has to be a warning about treating people with respect in the comments. Those who claim to be Trekkies who speak in vitriol are toxic and you all should be ashamed.
I enjoyed the soul searching more first time it was done on Babylon 5. Down to the room's flames getting lower as the room gets darker, as the captain can't figure out what has to be figured out.
I despise this series. The whole thing, the whole concept.
It’s “current, modern day crap”.
Just my opinion.
We all have one. Just like another oriface…that we ALL have.
That said…
I keep up (kinda) just because it might come back in the future.
(New and different series etc etc…on and on…)
I’m thankful that this thing is comming to an end.
Incredibly…thankful.
Good day.
😆😎👍
Another bit of Star Trek lore that Discovery has ruined. The Breen were cool because were mysterious, robotic, methodical, coldblooded and ruthless. Now, they’re weak, gelatinous creatures who are willing to throw it all away over an insignificant human woman. Ridiculous.
A hidden super old secret library that has bad Sheild's and zero defenses........right......
Someone on Reddit tossed out how cool it would have been for the Library to either have defensive and offensive "contributions" from other species, or to utilize the defensive tech from thousands of worlds.
Or I thought what if they just called in a few favors, and suddenly there's a dozen ships ready to nuke the Breen ship.
It has a good shield, the Breen have a weapon that opens small holes in shields allowing a small number of soilders to go through. The library's shields held up throughout
No no. It's year 3000. Random changing sheild modulation should be standard. A tunnel through is just a joke. Come on ....remember the borg
@@jasonbrumwell2188 one of my complaints about Disco is that it often seems like they forget they're in the future, and that there's been almost a thousand years of progress beyond blink-a-porting onto the bridge to save money on hallway and turbolift sets.
@@jasonbrumwell2188 Even if they did that then the Breen would find a way around it. It's a literal arms race
This episode felt rushed in a way the final episodes of Picard Season 3 felt also. The end of serialized series syndrome
Which has always confused me on shows where you know in advance exactly how many episodes you have left.
Series 5 has actually been quite interesting. I fell off the last 2 fairly early cause they didn't grab me,only tuning in to the last episode to see what happened. (Also it got removed from streaming here fot a bit making it difficult) But Series 5 has had me hooked from the start.
Finally, a character worse than neelix or Wesley.....
The only character that makes logical choices, is professional, and worthy of respect is Raynor, but the writers clearly want him to seen as wrong. Sorta encapsulates everything wrong with this season…
People, BE NICE! 🙏🏿
Why?
I tried to be nice for years. But hey we have strange new worlds and lower decks.
The badlands? They really are doing a Trek victory lap this season lol
2:26 I didn't find that switch hasty, in my opinion. You could see the seeds planted during the funeral that the Breen revered the Scion more than the Primarch.
4:26 she also overthinks things a lot.
6:27 well he is one of the only original bridge crew left, so it's about time.
7:08 I loved her too.
7:57 ooh dang, i hadn't considered that. Will there be a choice between resurrecting one person or the other? Will diverse female space Jesus die so the Scion can be resurrected for the greater good of the Federation?
Gentlemen Ladies ETC the nightmare is almost over.

Love this show
I just don't care that much about the quest plot, and the Breen have been nowhwere for me. L'ak and Moll were only interesting in the episode that went into their backstory, and since L'ak died Moll's story has just gotten silly. All that being said, I really enjoyed the performances of Martin-Green and Ajala. They made what might have been a very generic mindscape episode really engaging to watch.
That’s one thing I never liked about burnham, especially when she was given command. Her arrogance at some points is that “I’m burnham, im right, so I’m going to do things my way regardless of the cost or what I have been ordered to do or someone else’s suggestion, because how could I be wrong?” One day, that’s going to get her ship destroyed and/or crew killed.
What’s even sadder, is there seems to be times she realises this, tries to fix it, but then reverts back to this bad habit.
Discovery is so bad it made me go back and watch Enterprise and genuinely appreciate it.
Its disappointing to see that Discovery had wasted its potential with each season. I still don't know or care for the majority of the crew, and those that I did are sidelined. The seasonal mystery boxes were always underwhelming.
Burnham has plot armor so thick that even Batman would blush ☺
I…have been enjoying this season. I really wanted to dislike it, but it’s had such a toned-down (for it) feel after a cringy first episode. The emotional beats finally feel earned, the story is more cohesive, and I can actually name all the crew members. I also have enjoyed Callum Keith Rennie as Raynor. He should’ve been there from season 3. All in all I’d give this season a warp factor of 6, which for Discovery might as well be warp 9.99. Glad it finally found its feet, even though it’s about to be swept away.
the whole Breen sideplot makes no GD sense TBH...
there have been parts of discovery that I really liked but Moll and L'Ack are frickin morons and the Breen are really boring compared to how they used to be. The only interesting thing about the breen is they have the jello and solid forms
also ngl i get not liking a show but y'all could just... not engage with content discussing said show ? you clearly aren't watching it anyway please just shut up and let ppl enjoy things.
Omg am I first?
That show is just awful.
Oh just shut up and let people enjoy things
@@Soguwe I don’t care if you enjoy awful stuff. Me stating the fact that this show is awful because it is awful shouldnt keep you from enjoying it. Unless you really already know it’s awful too?
@@Soguwe …besides the fact it has just taken a giant crap all over Trek lore, it treats the audience like they’re stupid. That kinda thing needs to be called out and I’m not the only one, by any stretch who feels that way.
@@shaindaman13 do you actually have a reasoning to call it awful, you seem quite opinionated despite being wrong
Or are you just blindly hating with zero media literacy
Im not being unfair either because I was a big Soniqua Martin Green fan. I loved her as Sasha in Walking Dead. I had high hopes here. They failed and they did so into. That’s on them. Not me.
Fan fiction in Star Trek is better then anything Paramount could ever conceive. And you wonder why Paramount doesn't like ST fan production. They know that, that is why fans knows ST better than Paramount.
Wish they would hire some of these guys.
who exactly is the "fans" here?
Absolutely awful show.
Have you actually watched it?
I HAVE ONLY ONE COMMENT ; FART FART AND A DART !
Is it just me or does it feel like the show is starting to drag?
No
