"People, who don't like cats, just don not know how to cook them"-from my Grandpa.
Great video! Thank you!
HAH!
Cat haters. The other white meat.
Always educational and humorous. I admire your editing.
I try. Thank you.
@@ArizonaGhostriders one of the first things people see when I show them your videos! Keep up that good work Santee hope you're doing good.
One of the interesting things we noticed while visiting Tombstone and Boot Hill was how many people died from asphyxiation due to charcoal fires indoors.
You'd think they would've learned...
@@ArizonaGhostriders they did, none of them ever made that mistake again
They still do!
My wife used to do reenacting and she still remembers the wool. A Victorian lady wore a lot of wool when it got cold. My wife would joke about almost wearing an entire sheep.
Yeah! It's ok in the winter though
Wool is best!
Loved the”Harry” skit, good chuckle in the morning, Thanks 🤣😄😜👍🏻🤠
You're welcome!
Harry was a drinker, he was almost pickled! That's awesome.
This is so creative with some learning combined with some laughter. We should be so lucky to have some of our teachers try and do this for our children in the schools. I wonder if the child would maintain more information if a little bit of laughter was infused in with the lesson. I know I will remember about Donner Lake something I didn't know. Tasty nuggets lol.
Glad you learned and had fun.
Camped out at the lake this weekend..they were some tough people back then cuz i froze my butt off lol
Yeah, that's why they all wore suspenders...they had no butts.
Arizona Ghostriders 😂😂😂😂👍
And were never invited to anyone's house for dinner again....🤣👍👍!!!! I love your videos and the history parts too!!!!
Thank you!
I think it was more like sixteen feet of snow.
If you've ever been up to Shaver Lake or Huntington Lake California just after winter you would see how bad things could get.
I have lived in the North. Have experienced it.
I learn more from your channel then I have in all of 8th grade
Thanks much!
Your channel is one of my favorite subs of the year! Great vids! Great history and FUN both.
2:41 I love the shining reference
Thank you!
Had this classic in my recommendations, it didn't disappoint.
Thank you very much!
The wild west and the paranormal wild men were quite common in newspapers and ghost and ufo stories, good idea for a video
Absolutely.
The production quality of these videos keeps getting better! Great job, guys!
That's good to hear.
I am making my way through some of the older ones. It is a very funny ending!
Much appreciated.
Thank you for your fun and informative video. Lots of people think the desert is always hot. It isn't, only dry!
Right! Thanks for watching.
I think it is funny that when he said "a fur coat only goes so far when the weather drops 25 below zero" he is zomming in on kurt's face
You guys make me giggle & jiggle. Pure genius. Thank you.
You're welcome.
Great video i love liver
A great episode with a tasty ending!
LOL! Thanks
DANG... they just keep gettin' better. I'd like to thank Harry for helping make this memorable:~)))))
God bless:
Stoney
Glad you enjoyed it.
During the blue norther that hit Texas on New Years 1884/85 a cowboy and his horse in Archer County froze to death before he could find shelter. Incidentally that was the night that a America's first serial killer attacked his first victim in Austin Tx. Y'all should do a video on the Servant Girl Annihilator, also known as the Midnight Assassin.
Interesting, and I'll look into it.
Even in the late 50's and early 60's people told me from 2 and 3 generations back to rub snow on Frost Bite and swore it worked.
Yeah
I like the educational part a lot because the Wild West era is my favorite but I love the skits in the videos (😂😂😂😂😂😂)
Thank you!
I have been stuck on that pass many a time when I drive big trucks. Wow
Yikes!
I was at Fort Huachuca fer a good spell, and Sierra Vista Az got plum ccccccold!!
50's today! Maybe colder in Cochise County.
Thanks for sharing.
Santee, I just have to say your videos are always fantastic quality! You make history interesting! And I can tell you put a lot of work into your videos. The editing is amazing! Always really enjoying tuning in :)
Thank you! It's a lot of fun for me. If I had more time...look out Spielberg! LOL!
Lol - see you - on down the trail
Thanks guys 👍
Yep...
Awesome video! You two do a great job Dan is solid at that Dirty Dan character. Thanks Santee
What character? That's HIM. He ain't acting!
Santee, this episode was one of the great ones. Thanks.
Why thanks, Bob!
Santee, this video really leaves me cold!
Great video, as always!
Thank you!
I love it!
Thank you.
It was common even for Army officers to buy civilian cold jackets and gloves.
The Army was pretty lenient about folks adding things like gloves or bandanas due to the climate.
the great cold west! :)
While we are referencing The Shining:
“I know all about cannibalism. I saw it on television”
Jack (crazy grin): “You see honey, it’s all right. He saw it on the television.”
HAHAH!
Having some nuggets with Jeremiah Cheese!!! ha ha ha ha brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!
HEHEHEHE!
Loved it!
Thank you!
Santee, do a video on what cowboys in the old west carried in their saddlebags.......thank you.
Just put it on the list. Thanks for the idea!
Love the video because of the COLD WEST.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Buffalo fur winter moccassins work very well . Tried them in freezing conditions , my feet stayed warm.
But the sausages in our BBQ were frozen immediately after you took them from the fire....🥶
Wow!
Love the Jack Torrance parody 😂
That's your funniest one yet
Thank you!
Another great video! Keep them coming. Hope you and the Ghostriders have a very Merry Christmas.
Thank you Eric, you too.
On January 1989 l was stranded in minus 67 degrees, stayed warm enough thanks to my gear which included a portable cook stove. In the morning it warmed up to a balmy minus 40 degrees...bust out the suntan lotion.
HAHA! Glad you made it ok.
Too Funny.. Folks don't think it snows down there But.... I remember visiting my Dad in December about 25 years ago.. He lived in Green Valley.. On saturday it was 72 and I got sun burned.. By Sunday it was snowing on us out there on the golf course...
Yeah, it's funny. This year we barely got any freezing temps.
But you got more rain.. 30 years ago I moved out of Southern California to get away from the heat and have 4 actual seasons.. Lived here happily in Oregon ever since...
Good to hear!
This is a really cool video Santee. I’m sure back then people ate a lot of beans and chilly.
Beans and stews.
Great nuggets !!
Thank you!
Hilarious! Great job of putting it all together
I appreciate that, MP
I would like to see a video dedicated to showing what kind of clothes and gear did the the cowboys of the 1800's use to keep warm in the winter.
great videos.some had a brother-in-law,did not believe it snowed in the desert.sent him pictures of yard with 3ft of snow.live on a mesa in mojave desert at the time.
It gets cold in Montana -50 sometimes plus snow, lots of snow. Old true story, in Virginia City , Mt Virginia Slade had her husband Jack Slade in her bathtub over the winter since old Jack was hanged as for he was a " Road Agent" by the Vigilantes. She had a tin coffin made and filled with whiskey and shipped his body in it to Utah for burial........ what a way to go.
That's how I wanna go! Thanks for watching, MMM!
Thanks keep up the great work!!
Since i played red dead 2 I’ve watched all your videos
Some Western settlements had very frigid weather. Thanks for the great videos.
Idaho's weather is pretty brutal. I live in South East Idaho and right now as I speak it is about 70 degrees Fahrenheit. By afternoon it could get up to a 100 degrees. However the winters here can be brutal. Lots of snow, ice and butt freezing cold like it could get down below zero. I remember one time it got -20 degrees. I should also say South East Idaho is a desert.
My sister lives near Boise....I don't know how cold it gets there, but it can't be good!
Hello! Looks like I been subscribed to you for a little while but have been missing out, turned on notifications. Really enjoyed this video, great information and entertaining! Looking forward to more of your content.
I appreciate that a lot!
the end was great
Soilent green is people!!
It is
This was brilliant, I wish I would have known your channel before, but I did subscribe now and have a lot of catching up to do with past videos now😁👍
Glad you found us! The dinosaur and ghost go back to last year when I dabbled in the supernatural. Yeah...just go with it.
Hey Santee. This was really a great episode, the wait was well worth it. Haha “All work and no joy, makes Santee a dull boy”. First thing I thought of seeing you as a “prairie popsicle” haha. I’ve been up Donner pass a couple times, one thing that I’ve always wondered was, which Donner did James Reed pass? Ba-dum-bum. Ya know, Harrys liver would probably go best with some baked beans and a nice warm beer 🍺.Lol 😂😂😂
Thank you folks, I’m here every other night from 7:00 to 7:01. Hahahahahaha
So happy you enjoyed it!
That photo of you all frozen is just like everyone in Finland every winter 😜 And I wish I was joking.. That is something I really dont miss about living there is the horrible cold..
Lol... That was pretty interesting and funny
Thank you!
Awesome video my friend! Excellent video edits! I loved the part where you got locked out the house! LOL!!
I wish I did!
Harry's Nuggets, Hahahaha.... Where do you guys come up with this stuff. I almost spit up my coffee on that one. LOL
Great episode. Just getting around to viewing some of these older episodes, and they don't disappoint.
JT
Glad you enjoyed it
This “show” is goofiern a drunk chicken. Why do I watch every episode?! Dadgum funny and I like it, most of it. Can’t seem to convince you that Audie Murphy is a national treasure! Lol. See ya on down the trail.
I like drunk chickens, too. Thanks.
Whoop whoop. Cool vid
"Rub snow in it. You'll be fine."
A year back and all that’s changed is production quality. Still entertaining and enjoyable
A Santee-sicle!
Yep! Brrrrr!
My first winter in Montana had me wewrong out my rosary beads
HA!
Good one! LOL!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Cool channel, subscribed!
Thank you!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ha ha ha ha. Here in Idaho, we know cold!
As a western and horror fan, I loved those F13 and shinning references!
Wish they were longer
Thank you!! I wish I had more time to make them.
Frizzing out here LOL in Portugal the temperature has dropped! But not for long do tomorrow will rise again!
What an instructive video.......I sub this channel...
Thank you so much!
Poor Harry
Yeah...well, he tasted great.
You should really taste his nuggets LOLOLOL
Another great video! I look forward to them always :)
HAH! Thanks!
SOUNDS LIKE UP HERE IN MINNISNOWDA (MINIESOTA) WE ARE HAVEING A BLIZZARD NOW
Bbbbbrrrrrr!
👍👍👍
I wonder if they could do something on cowboy bed rolls?
Joyeux Noël à tous !
i like + 1 & subscribe in this wonderful channel
Why thank you and happy holidays!
Hey Santée.
If you want that darned ghost to stop drinking your liquor
put some garlic and pepper juice in a special bottle just for him.😉😮🤐😮😉
Santee, i love your channel, but i was wondering what kind of hat you wear? The black one? Thanks.
Thanks. It's a telescope crown with a 4.5" brim. The maker is long gone, but this is not an uncommon style.
I want to see a video on historically accurate cold weather clothing worn by a civilians and military
OK!
Red Dead Redemption 2 First chapter be like:
👍👍🤠
Come on up to Maine, where knives get frozen in their sheaths, and I’ve even see the action my grandpa’s rifle freeze when he went to take a shot.
Well, then. Just move on down here. We don't have that issue.
How about an episode on holidays? (Christmas, Thanksgiving, July 4th, etc.)
I've done Christmas and Thanksgiving episodes. More later!
Poor Harry...
I know. Sad.
Actually, if your foot should fall through a frozen lake and the temperature is below 20f and the snow is "dry", rubbing snow on it to absorb the water CAN save your foot from frostbite.
25 below zero? Try 64 below zero, that is when I walked into Eagle after a small aircraft crash. The pilot didn't make it, I only had bumps and bruises and crossed 127? miles back to civilization. Life here in Alaska can really test you.
Well, that is impressive.
It happened to me in a place called Donner's pass hey Santee !! I wanted to invite you and the Mrs over for dinner !☺️
( Edit oo there it is you stole my thunder !! Lol)
LOL!
Greetings from Ireland. I was never a great fan of liver myself.
Yeah, it was a chicken tender. Ain't no liver passing these lips!
I prefer fava beans
@@ArizonaGhostriders liver eatin' Johnston would have eaten yours if you messed with him, and I like liver every year or two. (Calves liver or T-Rex, they both taste nothing like chicken.)
@@CaliforniaFly That's for sure. Apparently you don't like liver that much if you eat it every year or two!
@@ArizonaGhostriders some cooks/restaurants know how to cook it, some don't. Have you ever had chicken gizzards? That should gross you out as well as liver. Did I skip liver cheese sandwiches?
How about a video on mountain oysters? I've never tried those. Not sure if I'm brave enough to.
on a side note, that is a nice looking flannel you have, where did you find it?
come on up here to Montana in January and we'll talk about COLD....
if'n it gets too cold I have a list of folks we can HAVE for supper......
No thanks. I'll just put on a long sleeve cotton shirt here.
@@ArizonaGhostriders LOL
You're alright Boah
🤠
