    I've been watching a lot of these camper conversion video's, and I have to say yours is the most impressive out of all of them. You really do have everything you need, including actual space to sit down 'inside' in the back, complete with a table. I love how you installed an aux battery to power everything, going so far as to connect it to your car battery for charging while in use, 'and' have the capacity to charge off solar. Everything seems very well thought out. You even have presurized running water. Thanks for this video, certainly gives me idea's for my own SUV.

    Wow, lots of cool intentional design elements. I love how you used the built-in safety feature of the butane stove to also create a safety buffer when storing the unit. So impressed with your "no space wasted" cabin segments. Even the pull-out drawer in the undercabinet sink area makes use of space that would ordinarily be wasted. Genius!!!

  • @rowdysgirlalways
    @rowdysgirlalways Před rokem +1

    Damn dude! I love watching these videos and I have to say that your build is one of the very best I've seen! It is brilliant! I've never seen such a well-designed, well-built kitchen unit. Not an inch wasted. It is like the most clever puzzle box, with the lift-up, swing-out shelves, the swing-out sink area and the removable bit of counter for the sink area. I sat here with my jaw hanging down as you pulled, lifted, swung and opened it like a lotus unfolding! It is genius! I also love the shelf being blocked from folding away if the stove fuel isn't in the proper position.
    I love your little bathroom section. I, however, would get a small fold up bowl, basin or bucket to temporarily attach under the faucet, to cut down on mud and splashing and wasted water. You could dump it, fold it up and tuck it away.
    Your plumbing and electrical are beautifully laid out. You and your partner obviously put a great deal of thought into the design and execution of your plan. It is very professional. The interior is very clever, the seat and table look like a comfortable fit. I like all of the storage. The bed area looks a little close to the roof, but sleepable. Your toilet reminds me of my emergency toilet: a bucket, a bag and an adult diaper. Works like a charm.😉 The safety features you have installed are impressive! I love that your first aid supplies are so obvious. My nephew and his family have a first aid kit in a big, yellow backpack. I think they may even have splint materials in there, for broken bones, you know. He used to be a lifeguard and was in the Coastguard, so his first aid skills are pretty good. That and he and his kids are pretty daring, so it's not unusual for one of them to be injured on vacation. 😄😉But I do appreciate all of your safety measures, I think that a lot of van people should be more aware of their safety.
    I do have a few suggestions. I don't know where you live, but here in the upper Midwest of the US, I would have rain guards on all of the windows that open so you can have some ventilation. I would also invest in USB fans, I have one and its amazingly useful when the power goes out. I would also consider installing a Maxair fan. I have heard nothing but good remarks about them. And then I would make screens to go over the windows and doors. Put magnets on them to hold them in place. Screen isn't hard to work with, I made a screen curtain for my garage door and it worked a treat! Again, upper midwest, where mosquitoes rule. And Ontario, Canada, has battalions of flies.
    You might consider getting a moon shade awning. They are quite versatile and look to be well-made. That would be excellent for your outdoor kitchen in the rain, and it folds up into a fairly medium package. It looks easy to handle too. It would probably fit in your rooftop storage box. All that's left is a carbon monoxide detector and a smoke detector.
    New Jersey Outdoor Adventure on CZcams has a van build by a retired electrician. I am in awe of his electrical and the whole build. He, too, is genius! Just like you guys. I love your van and I think you guys did an incredible build!

    Consider placing the fire extinguisher facing back and down as low as possible because if you are in a big collision you don't want it flying like a projectile towards the occupants of the vehicle.

    @4philipp Před rokem

    I know you said you use just sone basic stuff from the hardware store for those lift up and turning cabinets, yet they are the most elusive to copy.
    You should make a short video just about those.
    I am trying to come up with a kitchen design that can be used from the inside and outside. And like you I want to place it in the rear.
    The challenge is that cabinets are much more easily accessible from the outside. I was thinking of making a draw for outside access but also to lift it up for indoor access. This is my current solution.
    This draw holds one piece of bulky kitchen equipment, like a InstaPot. The draw would be placed close to the right rear wall. That same side would have a solid sheet of plywood, the other 3 sides would remain open and the corners are steel pipes that connect the top and bottom plates. From the outside a simple hinged door would give access to the draw in its lowered position. From the inside when lifted up access is from 2 useful sides (last one being to the outside again.). As a lifting rod and attachment I want to use a Desk Monitor Stand. I would need to turn the draw only slightly to secure it in its upright position. Or lift it slightly above the counter and slide a 1x2 underneath it to secure it. Either way, I don’t see a way to lift it out without the lifting arm needing to protrude past the countertop.
    Last challenge is to remove the top plate from the draw to give full access to the equipment without needing to remove said equipment. The question is how to hinge it and how to secure it.
    Anyway, enough about my ideas. Your build has been planned and executed with a lot of attention to detail. It’s quite extraordinary. Fantastic job.

Do you have any kind of awning to set up over it for rain 🌧 or shade ☀️?WOW.....I just saw your teeth-brushing setup....with its own spicket!...awesome 😊👌. Some very impressive design and execution in this. But it must weight a ton! What modifications did you have to make to the vehicle to be able to haul this amazing unit? I'm guessing shocks/struts, springs all upgraded to hvy duty units? How huge is the effect of this unit's weight on your gas mileage? What about the handling, I can only assume one has to take corners more slowly as the center of gravity is now higher, especially on one side where the unit meets the ceiling. Which brings up my last question, did you factor in weight distribution left-to-right? Honestly just curious, it's an amazing build, but maybe too much? Every feature adds weight and this build is so very feature rich. Curious to hear these things. Not enough conversion videos delve into these potentially very important things. I'd love to see a video that talks about the additional weight, changes to the car's handling and performance, etc... it would be very helpful for those considering doing their own conversion.
    I slapped the 'Like Button' hard and from behind, to thank you for this video! 😉
