In the scene where superman gets arrested, those soldiers, including rick flag sr., work for checkmate. Which means that superman wouldn't have actually needed to do anything in the public eye to get arrested. They work for amanda waller, and therefore are most likely an extension of her will. Also i would be surprised if lex didn't have some sort of relationship with amanda waller.
I agree - I've entertained Checkmate quite a bit in previous videos (and another vid coming soon!), especially with Rick Flag Sr's involvement post the Creature Commandos black ops team. I wonder if the original plan was to show The Agency turn into Checkmate prior to Superman's release, but now things have changed up a little bit with the slate.
Is it possible that Superman being arrested is more of an inciting incident in the movie? First 10-15 minutes of the movie that kicks the plot into motion?

Next to being a great storyteller, Gunn is so good at embracing the weird aspects of comics, while maintaining a sense of realism and "cool." I mean he did Starro and an authentic peacemaker costume and it was still badass af. Not a fan of Supes underwear but idc because I know Gunn is cooking
I think he means it's not a spoiler because it's something that they won't try to keep secret until the movie releases. I am sure when the trailer drops it will feature Ultraman, much like it was not a spoiler that Adam Warlock was on Guardians 3 for example, it's part of the story
Will Reeve making a cameo is great. Also that mysterious figure they are saying Ulysses I don't know but I feel it could be Doctor Phosphorus maybe. Since we are seeing Rick Flag Sr., from Creature Commandos also in that scene arresting Superman with The Engineer.

the alcock in cleveland rumor started because a dcu news account posted a twitter interaction that went something like this:
Twitter user: "I wish Milly Alcock was in this season of House of the dragon more"
Other random twitter user: "Milly is in cleveland shooting superman!"
A bunch of people were calling the news account out for spreading rumors with no backing. their entire justification for posting it was the second guy was from cleveland. "they might've seen her." cleveland is huge and they provided no proof or any indication that they saw her. the news account refused to delete the rumor until gunn said something about it. these "news" and rumor account have zero journalistic integrity and treat anything as fact. the worst part was the original interaction didn't even make sense. season 2 of house of dragon wrapped filming in September. even if she was in cleveland, it'd have nothing to do with her being in the season less.
Thing is that there are so many uncredible sources or pages on either facebook or twitter spreading rumors or false information. And all of this for some likes and attention.
Yesterday I saw some collage of set photos from Superman movie and there was some photo of David Corenswet kissing other guy and comment section was going wild that Superman will be guy etc. There was no source or anything and upon my initial search on internet I found that David played multiple gay characters before so that picture could be from his previous project (he did not look like Clark from the set photos at all)

That building with the doubles floating romantically looks like the Arcade in downtown Cleveland. It was the first indoor shopping mall in the USA. It is quite stunning to see in real life.

Costume designer here: the purple tint and the U definitely make me think that we’re getting Bizzaro/Ultraman hybrid.
Possibly even doomsday too considering this throws the look of the containment suit too

Those Superman scenes are probably flashbacks or news reports in the movie. probably not major parts of the story
I think it would make more sense for Bruce to be in The Penguin if it has something to do with him helping to restore Gotham. I really want this show to be more about Penguin’s rise in crime, I don’t want it to be overshadowed by Batman’s appearance.
I was down town on Tuesday and saw a set up for a scene. The Key Bank tower was turned into the building that you posted. I thought I got a picture of a Superman decoy cause he was on set but had the top half and the cape of the costume on and regular shorts on the bottom. I didn't get the picture but there were two dogs in one of the trailers with equipment, a small one and one that looked a little bit like Krypto from Titans just a different color and a slightly different.
I know we waited forever for these set photos but they were well worth the wait. Thank you Mr. Gunn. Save the DC Universe.

A week two Batman is really interesting! Loving all the fresh takes we’ve heard about in Caped Crusader. I also like the idea that Bruce is coercing or pressuring Alfred to go along with this in some way. The hints of Bruce’s possible mental instability are intriguing, and that’s often the type of Batman I prefer. Since so many of his villains are mentally ill, it’s interesting to see takes where Bruce is too.
You see this a bit with Conroy’s Bat in BTAS, but they couldn’t explore it too much because it was a kids’ show. You have a hint of it in Keaton, and they also touch on it in Kilmer’s Batman, who is supposed to be the same person but feels different. It’s subverted with the Dark Knight trilogy, where Bruce jokes about it but the real joke is that he’s perfectly stable and everything he’s doing is quite reasonable. I think you even see it in Batfleck, when his mask slips a bit when he’s talking to Clark at the party in BvS, but not so much in any appearance after that.
Of course, it’s fully embraced in The Batman, and I’m glad that we’ll see it explored in Caped Crusader too. I wonder if this is Reeves’ influence somewhat, in wanting to explore this kind of Batman further? Anyway, I agree, really looking forward to seeing this fresh take!

The villain of this story is Supermans fight with those granny panties. My gosh the suit looks very cosplay esc. I hate that their using the kingdom come S emblem. I prefer the defined S swirl.
Can you make a video of all the Cleveland set leaks in chronological order -:all the stills and videos where the suit is new, should be at the beginning, then the ones where the suit is blackened are compiled together finished with the clip of Superman flying away from the mob.

The difference I love between Kara and Superman is that Kara is trying to fit in to earth society because she was in krypton so long and Clark has no frame of reference and is just a earth guy. It’s like what she hulk should’ve been which is a spin on the hulk character Bruce hates being hulk but comes to term with it, she hulk loves being she hulk and hates being herself but must come to terms with herself.
I know that I'm crazy for saying this and probably you guys will laugh at me but I have a theory. What if it's Apex Luthor who tries to copy superman powers and caused chaos to bring superman's name down.
The scene where Clark and Lois are floating looks to be the Arcade in Downtown Cleveland. I spent a lot of time in that place at the Comic Shop, I still don't know why they called it The Arcade there were no video games in the place. But if there using part of the Arcade as the Planet offices that going to be interesting, gonna have to do a lot of movie magic.
I really hope we don't get the whole 'Lex Luthor creates a Superman clone' story. Lex for me has always hated Superman because he doesn't feel anyone deserves that kind of power. So for him to create a being that has that very power has never quite sat well with me, even in the comics, as I feel it goes against everything he believes in. I believe James Gunn, I think these images have genuinely not spoiled anything serious. I definitely think we'll get some kind of Supergirl cameo though, agreed!
nah it's probably going to be in the first teaser we get. probably a red herring with the Authority or Waller colluding with Luthor. Luthor is the threat in this one but I do think we get the next threat (hopefully Brainiac) get a foothold for a sequel. Along with Supergirl showing up.
You know what would be fun? Make this universe’s version of Shazam the First Thunder version and put this Superman in it. It would be a nice take on both the characters. It would also set up Superman and Shazam as a super powered buddy team like the Spider-Men. Billy Batson could be to Clark Kent what Miles Morales is to Peter Parker.

Ultraman and Ulysses are not associated with the government; so, for me that took them off the board immediately. Also, I personally do not believe that Gunn would use these characters and take potential storylines for movies or TV shows off the board when he could use a more comic accurate character that already exist.
My guess is Captain Atom. He works for the government in the comics and animation which makes this character arresting or detaining Superman make more sense. Captain Atom working with affiliates of Waller like Rick Flag Sr just makes more sense to me. The Engineer is sporting all black and we know she will be a CGI character. Captain Atom has a containment suit that easily make him a CGI character as well.
Also remember Superman film is kind of the setup for Peacemaker season 2 as Frank Grillo's Rick Flag Sr., and other Creature Commando members will make their appearances in season 2. Flag Sr., especially has some unfinished business with Christopher Smith aka Peacemaker.

I just learned there’s a comic where Batman saves Joe Chill from joker. Joe knew Bruce is Batman and apologized deeply for what he did and Bruce forgave him after learning how Joe’s terrible life and disabilities lead to him becoming a criminal. James Gunn needs to put that in the DCU and add Damien being captured by Joker and Joe saves him when Bruce couldn’t so everything would come full circle and Joe would get redemption
I HAD NO IDEA ABOUT THE POSSIBLE KRYPTO VIDEO!! HOLY CRAP! I’ve also done some research, and that blue man in a set photo is apparently a CG double of Superman so they don’t have to get hit with debris.
What if superman makes a talk box like Cosmos in GOTG 3 using krytonian parts for krypto. Or maybe kryptonians can only community with Krypto.

I’m guessing his arrest happens in the first act, maybe after the first big scene involving Superman, I can almost guess that the movie is going to have a message of in a world flooded with “super hero’s” (both in movie and in a meta way outside the movie) Superman isn’t needed and he proves that idea wrong, but yeah if it happens in the first hour then I can see why it’s not a spoiler
with the 'ultraman' thing i feel like it's a good chance they could claim Superman's actions are actions of vigilantism and are not condoned by the government or something like that (currently rewatching young justice - up to s3). An 'Ultraman' could very well be another obscure character from the comics that James Gunn is bringing to the big screen - especially since hes hanging with Rick Flag Senior.
I also want to put it out there, there is no way that is ultraman.
I really want Krypto to talk this is a fantastical world with plenty of other crazy stuff likely coming into it I don't want Gunn to be "realistic" with him, I'm happy to see he will be in the movie though.
I honestly doubt Gunn is gonna go that route, mainly because Krypto doesn't talk in the comics or in King's Woman of Tomorrow. They only had him "talk" (kind of) in two non-canon kids cartoons.
But also because Gunn probably knows that's exactly the sort of thing people might expect from him, and he wouldn't want Krypto to seem too much like Cosmo in GotG 3.

What people are forgetting is the casting. Was anyone casted for this "Ultraman/Black Noir" character? I think this does point to that character being played by David Corenswet as a clone of himself created by Lex.
To which I reply, "meh". Not a great idea for me at all.

I think it’s a mix of Ulysses and Midnighter. Gunn might combine both characters to create a black noir type character to separate itself from Batman.

This is a bit of a long shot, but I think the dark figure in the pic of superman being arrested could potentially be parasite, it has a bit of a purple tinge to the suit and seeing my adventures with superman, the way they introduced him was in a suit which gave him the powers, I know its probably not btw
Given that the comic the "Supergirl" film will be directly adapting features Supergirl at the age of 21 (because the story starts off with Kara on a planet with a red sun so that she can get drunk for her birthday), I would imagine that she'll likely be closer to 20, if she isn't already 20, in "Superman". Plus, it sets Kara up as an already established hero as well, so if they chose to use her for a couple scenes in "Superman", it wouldn't necessarily feel like she's brand new on the scene, because she certainly isn't in the "Woman of Tomorrow" comic story.

Supergirl in WOT is 21 years old at the start of the book/story so Milly would only be playing 2-3 years younger than her actual age. That means Kara been on earth for at least 6-7 years but I figure she hasn’t come out as supergirl until after Clark Did

The logic you use to debunk midnighter can be applied to ultra man and Ulysses. The set photo doesn’t represent their comic look at all and is much closer to midnighter
@@ike_themission Difference is, the Authority is one of Gunn's favorites and Midnighter is arguably the most popular member of that team. I don't see Gunn messing too much with his backstory or his look, or casting the role without an announcement.

I just thought about the supergirl age in comparison to Superman and ngl if supergirl arrived on earth at 18 Superman as of the movie should be in year 5-7 because woman of tomorrow is heavily centered around supergirl Turning 21 and it wouldn’t make sense for supergirl to arrive in Superman’s first year of being Superman. while that’s still a possibility I think it’s more likely that she arrives when Superman’s been around for at least 2-3 years which would again put Superman currently at around year 5-7. This also makes a lot of sense considering gunn has already said Superman is an established hero and has even been referenced as metropolis’s most popular superhero in newspapers. He even has his own in universe merchandise. So I think Superman will be a lot more experienced than we think, which would also line up with how experienced Batman is going to be with him already having damian. I personally think this would be a better idea as well because then you can flesh out Superman being that inspirational figure to the younger heroes like nightwing, Wally west, etc.
I mean, Superman getting arrested sounds like a page 55 or 75 thing- which isn’t all that pivotal. It’s not anything (I would think) that would be in the 3rd act more like late 2nd act- regardless, it doesn’t seem like this big spoiler and I’m sure Gunn is fully aware of the character he’s directing so he would have easily planned out to shoot a scene that isn’t telling to the story much.

I just don't get why they'd drastically change up his look if it were Apollo from The Authority, which makes me feel like the Ultraman/Ulysses character arresting Superman is just a cocktail of character influences into one new iteration/take.

People need to realize Midnighter, and to a lesser extent Apollo, are probably the most popular members of the Authority, a passion project for James. I don't see him secretly casting either. Their casting would get announced because they're a big deal to certain comics fans.
Also I mean what if this guy is just part of a special ops unit? Like why does he have to be a villain? I would guess before lex knows about krytponite he has a special ops team that protects him or his assets?
