Don’t be fooled by the price. The specs on this fender are going after Gibson. It’s in a whole other league than the epiphones. It was made in Indonesia. If fender built it in USA with same specs in would be around $2500

I have a 2006 Crimson red Korean FMT HH that I have owned for about 12 years now. I play this guitar every morning and actually I like it better than my Les Paul. It does the same job and it's lighter.

@@geartalk8711 yes, the neck is super smooth for solo work. Funny thing is I'm typically not a fan of Fender as it is (lots of reasons)... but this 'Cort-Fender' (as I sometimes refer to it) is the perfect guitar. I do a lot of dynamic playing, and I use every pickup selector location, push/pull switch, and volume & tone knobs constantly. It's right down my alley for sure. :) My first one caught my eye while attempting to buy a Schecter Omen Elite. The mahogany body and Duncan's sold me instantly.

This is a beautiful sexy guitar that I would be interested in as an alternative to Les Paul as well as most other similar Fenders, at an attainable price range for me if I save up. I love the amber flame top too. Probably a veneer, but no problem there. FYI, I have several Epi Specials including a P90, an old Schecter PT Saturn ('super Tele' HH coil-tap very comparable to this Fender), a Squier Mustang and a Les Paul Studio w/coil splits. Frankly four knobs on the LP don't help me that much- I tend to play mostly on the bridge p/u, sometimes on the neck p/u, and rarely combined in which case a fixed 50/50 blend from two control knobs is not a real limitation or drawback. The guitar in your examination today is speaking to me at my level of the market. Enjoyed, love your channel and hope to see it continue to grow. Thanks!

I have an 09 version with the spalted maple finish + made in Korea, and its my favourite guitar. It's not us made but that really doesn't matter, it's a great guitar, the pups are are a nice combo and its a rock machine and really versatile for gigging with. YOu can pick them up on the used market for a decent price, but tuners definitely need an upgrade. Really light too for gigging. The review is really spot on I would say and you won''t regret it if you go for one.

@@markpell8979 I know everyone compares it to an LP but it feels more like an SG in the hand - neck is thin and fast though, like a ibanez - really it is its own beast. Great guitar but prices have gone silly since the pandemic.

It’s got a lot of different sounds. I got one and really enjoy it. My favorite guitar is still my ltd SE-1000 deluxe, though. Way better metal guitar. This one can play some good thrash sounds and classic rock, though. And it’s easy to play, light weight, and just sexy really

The big bonus of a telecaster is the durability if a maple neck. This model has a more fragile mahogany neck. Without the angled headstock it will probably survive a careless owner.

Anyone ever get back to you on this ?
I have one I picked up from the stratosphere, and put Slash signature Seymour Duncan's in.
I have decided over some time (years) it just dosen't get it for me. I have no idea why, but I'm thinking of stripping it to bare wood and finding out the answer to this question.
Mines Indonesia made. Mahogany set neck. I just worked on a client's FMT with factory pickups noticed two things. One maple set neck, and two the "pearly gates" is perhaps the worst sounding pickup I've ever heard.I must hear a real version of this pickup before making a final judgment. And believe me, I'm the king of cheapo pickups. I have a lot of experience with pickups of all sorts. I'm positive that the best sounding pickup as of late is the dimarzio dp152 super 3. If that pickup dosen't make me love this guitar, I'm dumping it as soon as possible.
