Anyone debating buying this guitar: buy it. I bought it in 2019 and it has been the most versatile, most useful guitar that I’ve ever had. I use it in coul split mode pretty consistently and it sounds incredible, but even for heavy stuff, the humbuckers sound amazing. Lightweight, beautiful, and useful for any genre. If you’re on the fence, get tf off and get this guitar.

Just picked one up today. It's awesome!
EDIT AFTER 3 WEEKS: It's super versatile, looks amazing, stays in tune better than anything I've ever owned, is light as hell(when I got it, the sales guys weren't sure the box even had a guitar in it, so we had to open it to make sure). I do still want a traditional Tele, as it doesn't sound like one and feels a bit different, but I'm glad I got this. I put some black pickup cover on, as I find open pickups to be a little harsh in general, and it sounds so good.

I got the spalted maple version of this back in 2012 and it was perfect. Tele style neck with Gibson sustain, and the pickups are sick. Wouldn’t sell it for the world. It very well may be one of the best guitars on the planet…. And Fender didn’t tell anyone 🤷🏼‍♂️

I owned one of these for 3-4 years in Amber. Gorgeous guitar, great pickups! However I would only recommend it for studio use, not live use. Reason being is the guitar body is so incredibly light that the neck dive is insane. I’d spend more time fighting with it live than playing the thing. Which sucks because it ticked every box and sounded incredible.
Anyway, for recording and studio use totally recommend. For live use I wouldn’t recommend

I learned of this guitar approximately 3 years ago and it's been on my 'list' since. It is not marketed by Fender or any resellers and is readily available but in-store availability appears to be limited. The set neck is the feature that caused me to first learn of the guitar. I like the Amber color model, and have yet to pull the trigger but it remains on my list.

It's been on my list as well but after talking with several people who have owned one...they all sold theirs. When asked why...they all basically said it just doesnt do anything really well. Its a nice guitar but it doesnt have an L.P, Strat or Tele sound. Thats been my opinion as well. I think I'm going to pass on it.

I picked one up last week after playing it. And yeah, it's not marketed at all. Unless the shops have one in stock, the sales people don't even know about it. I wad telling one branch of Long and Mcquade(Canadian music chain) and they all told me I was lying, even though I bought it there.
And it doesn't sound like a tele or Lp or strat, which is fine. It's it's own guitar and really is fantastic sounding. It's light, looks beautiful with the Flame maple. The coil tapping works well, and it can go from smooth, to punchy, or clean to dirty and does it all better than any other Ive tried. Now, I do still want a traditional tele, but im glad I got this for sure. Another one that is very similar, is the Godin Stadium HT. Its really a beautiful guitar, is cheaper than this one and is great at everything.

I got mine about 2017 I think it was. Fender website did have it featured for a little bit and the amber really caught my eye. Visually a piece of art as well. The fit and finish done by the Cort Indonesia crafters is par excellent. Recently I did have to solder the jack ground better and I think I will change that entire shielded wire to the input jack. I use a Hot Rod Deville 410, a Cry Baby and in the pedals also just a tuner and a Boss Reverb, which I rarely use. The amp is such a full tone monster, the combination is really quite perfect, but I would like an amp side vibrato. I find myself absorbed when playing this guitar far more than my Strat or the LP S. For a guitar with just a three way switch, a volume and the tone knob that can be pulled up and a thinner sound be available, it is incredibly versatile. Other than the minor issue of late with a wire needing re-soldering, I really love this guitar. I do have a 1991 vintage Levinson Blade with active electronics and a three band equalizer that can create a broad range of tone, but this Fender, and I can’t forget the Seymour Duncan 59 and the Pearly Gates for the wide variety of tone they create. I suppose if I knew more about guitars in general it could be dissected for the things it doesn’t have, but I do have guitars that cost many times more, and have some cool stuff like the Blade or my American Deluxe Strat, with its push button volume boost and the 5 way switch, and this is my favourite. Had a difficult time finding them on the Fender website recently. And I couldn’t find the 410 Hot Rod Deville at all. Every time professional player tried my setup, the amp was the first thing they loved. One guy was pretty choked that my Les Paul Standard felt and sounded no different 😊than his $10,000.00 59 Goldtop Les Paul. I sympathized because a really good beginner with an Epiphone Les Paul Standard sounded just like mine, that cost three times what his cost. The Special Custom FMT HH blows the Les Paul’s out of the water in my opinion. Now if only they had the other bells and whistles with volume on each Pickup.

I usually just lean towards the classic styles of most guitars, so to me if it’s not single coil ash body maple neck & fretboard it’s not a Tele LOL 😝
This is a nice axe though... especially at that price 🤙 I always look forward to your feeds gents! Thanks.

Did I miss you telling us that the scale length is 24 inches, and 22 frets instead of 21? Or is that not true about this Custom FMT HH Telecaster?

Every time I see these guitars, I always sit here in my head saying “what’s the catch?” because it has all the perks of a Fender that would cost custom prices to make. And just like you’ve said, they never ever ever ever market these. Maybe that’s why they don’t stay in stock: they market themselves.

I had my eye on that Tele for years. They used to be made in Korea. I really like Fenders with aftermarket pickups already installed. But it’s like a 15” radius and I don’t like guitars without a pickguard, I wouldn’t want to scratch the body when I pick and strum...

well if you dont like a flatter fretboard i dont like them ether ...lol i thought i was the only one .. and i allso like to have a pickguard

@@ljkj63 I’ve smaller hands and I’m used to Fenders 7.25” and 9.5” radius. I do have a Gibson Les Paul Special with a 12” radius and it feels good/normal. But I had an Ibanez RG Genesis that had a 17”radius, strumming was good but picking single notes became an issue because of the string spacing. I baby all my guitars even the cheaper ones so there’s no way I would buy a pricey guitar without a pickguard, PRS CE without a pickguard is a travesty, lol…

@@keithclark486 Mine is a 2012. 1) Mine has occasional issues with buzz, but that could be a matter of my sloppy technique and the action set a little too low. I’m planning to check with a luthier. 2) Tuning needs to be tweaked more than I’d like, but not a serious issue. May decide to upgrade to locking tuners in the near future. No other issues noted so far.

NOT a flamed maple top! Just a veneer over mahogany body. Not even a cap. Fender's marketing team didn't even disclose this to its resellers! It took me to find a refinished guitar on REVERB to shoe three planks of mahogany under a 1/8 inch (or so) veneer. Try searching the internet asking if it is. You will find people asking but being told its a flamed maple top like the name suggests. FMT. How did I find out? A Fender dealer rep was asked by 'my guy' and he replied that it's a veneer and they don't put that in the specs or talk about it.
