My wife was showing me wordle and explaining it to me, so as a joke I typed in MOIST, as I know she doesn't like that word. Guess what the word of the day (Feb. 2nd, 2022) was! I refuse to play it again, as I would ruin my perfect record.
i just spent 15 minutes trying to think of the worst word. all i could come up with is "mommy".
Mine's ghoul or crane. You'd be surprised how good it is.

Mine is _SLIDE._ The other day, the actual word was _GLIDE._ So close!
If I just stay the course, I'm sure it will come up eventually.
Every player's hope is that their repeat first word comes up eventually! 😅 Of all the words that exist.
I change between a few. My most common one was Piano, and then one day that was the word, but I did not start with it that day! That was my chance at getting it in one and I missed it 😅
Usually use the word later. I often just put in the first word that comes into my head.
I got a Wordle in one with IRATE last year, since then I've been using ORATE.
I default to SHEAR, but I also find it amusing/challenging to start today's Wordle with yesterday's answer.
I added this to a list that autoplays, and it just happened to start while I was playing today's Wordle (got it in 3 tries!). 😂🎉
I do Thief, then Polka, then Scrum
It's most of the common consonants except N and all the vowels. If there's only 1 or 2 letters highlighted with those 3 words, the next word is Windy.
Then you're really only left with G,J,Q,B,V,X and Z as potentials.
Audio is a great first

Mine is STEAM. I like the position of the E and the A that they actually help if they're green or yellow. When something is like .. xxAxE, there's a bajillion words that fit that and doesn't help narrow it down immediately for me.
My starter word is STARE, which is the same as TEARS.
Damnit, it's never plural? I thought I had a flawless start word combo. I do HEART followed by LIONS. Between the two words, I get all the Wheel of Fortune letters R S T L N E, plus all the vowels except U and Y, and H which is the most common consonant not suggested by Wheel (and is actually more common than some of the others). Between "heart" and "lions" it's almost guaranteed I'll have enough letters to figure out the Wordle in the last three guesses.
Mine is also train. I also got it in one that day that the answer was train, but I i did not change it after that.
i went 0 for 6 on guessing a word with one missing letter in front and the most common letters/vowels taking up the last four spaces. now i get as many consonants out of the way as possible and try a, t, and e words as late as possible. so now, hard mode, first guess: GLYPH
second word, it depends but possible ones are FOUND BINDS COULD/CLOUD MUNCH BRINK

Almost always get it in 4.
Mine is alien.
My start is STRAY. It seems to work pretty solidly.
I also play Quordle, which is 4 cards at once w/10 guesses.
You should do octordle too. I think that's one of my favorite versions.
the answer is never plural, but your start word is just a way to rule out letters
Yeah, but then you'll never get it in one like Steve did with "train."
Slate and bruin.
Two attempts get you every single of the most commonly used letters in English language leaving you at least 50% if not 90% of the way to guessing correctly on your third attempt.
Also both are on the word list so you have a chance of getting correct on the first guess with either
Irate or arise are my two start words, I switch back and forth between them. One of the perks of irate is that if it gives you nothing or minimal help, you've always got lousy as a follow up word.
What about the letter n?
Rstln&e are the most commonly used letters in English if you use all of them in your first two guesses you're like 75% of the way there no matter what really.
@@stapuft I do better knowing all the vowels in the word. It has been my technique more or less since I started and I've been pretty successful so far.
@@alisaishere I do better when my guesses, give me Info that can be used to guess correctly. If I use the most commonly used letters in the language, I'll fill 3-4 of the spots with green or yellow, EASILY allowing me to guess correctly on the third attempt.
@@alisaishere hell "slate" has been a 100%correct guess as well as bruin has.
@@stapuft I mean, I got the last two days in 2 guesses, so I guess my technique works 🤷🏼♀️

Mine's PROUD and if I get no letters or just 1 or 2, I use LIGHT for my 2nd guess. I used to do PIANO bc you kick out 3 vowels at the start
For suggestions, try finding a word that uses the most common letters in the English language. They are R S T L E (which is why on Wheel of Fortune, they have those automatically in the bonus round) so STEER is actually a great starting word
Yeah but then you're doing a double letter. Better to do STARE..... IMO
I do FUNKY, CRAVE, GHOST and BLIMP. Works like a charm
You do 4 words before guessing?

Ironically, she said Tears. My start word is Taser. Because those are the most commonly used letter. If none of them come up, I go to Cloud.

My starting word is CANOE followed by SHIRT if none of the letters match. 🇨🇦 🚣♀️

I always start with TRAIN followed by LOUSE to get the 5 most common consonants and vowels
I asked a group what their start words were, the best answer is your answer. It has served me well.

STEAL followed by RHINO covers the ten most frequently used letters in English with the top three (E, T and A) first.

No idea what wordle is. Then again I don't really use my phone either, I might go 2-3 days without checking my messages.
It's a New York Times game. If you are good with vocabulary an spelling, you may enjoy it.
It's kind of like battleship or mastermind but you're trying to guess what the word is. If you google Wordle you can find other practice sites.
