  • Linda is a tremendous tennis player who recently started playing pickleball for fun.
    I gave her a lesson for the first time to work on some dinks and strategies therein.
    Linda was also joined by her brother Jimmy, who is a stellar tennis player in his own right. He is a newer pickleball player as well, with about 6 months of experience.
    I had fun teaching the "Game of TENS" to Linda and Jimmy, which is designed to help with consistency on dinks as well as some aggressive net play.
    I hope you find this video helpful.

    Nice drill. Will have to try this one. To often when drilling where speedups are allowed, folks go with the speed up prematurely. This game forces you to “pick your spots.”

      @michaelchu94 thanks!
      It can be super intense and challenging at advanced levels as well.

    You guys are much stronger than me, so a couple scenarios did not occur which I would like your feedback on.
    What happens if the person who feeds the ball fails to get it over the net or or into the kitchen. Just a do over or is it treated as a miss.

      @richardwagner7499 great question. If someone should miss a feed, simply redo it. It is not a fault.
      This being said, try to concentrate on a good feed, one that is not an ace or too difficult for the opponent. The goal is to play a quality point, so it is important to start the rally well.
      Have fun and thank you for the question!

    Could you adapt this game to play with 4 players?

    • @danieljhoward002
      @danieljhoward002  Před 2 dny +1

      Great question!
      Really, this is a 2 vs. 1 game to get the single player to work to earn the point, so this particular game doesn't work nearly as well with 4 players.
      There are other dinking/speed-up games that can be very effective for 4 players, though!

      @@danieljhoward002 I have a group of three drilling tomorrow so this will be perfect, we're going to give it a try. The next day I have a foursome. I have some ideas on how to adapt it--I'll let you know how it goes!

      They have every right to play, just like anyone else.

      @@danieljhoward002 they already have skills similar to pickleball and will advance faster than a pure beginner, I’m sure you know how most NEW players that have a tennis background turn into bangers, the real progression and teaching is better used in REAL NEW players to our fun sport!? Just saying!
