    KTM/etc is consistently good, for the most part. I do have a 2022 GasGas EX300 and it's very tepid compared to my old 18 300xcw. I'm currently converting to TBI and adding a RKTek head as well - so it should be a fire-breather in no time! Also going to try out the race tech spring conversion. The air forks aren't bad - they seem better for high speed action - but for all the slow rocky Colorado gnar I am hoping the spring will be better.. we will see.. next new bike I hope to get a 24 300xcw with all those improvements.. !

    • @highlandcycles
      @highlandcycles  Před rokem +1

      You’ll be happy. This thing fixed everything wrong with TPI (at least if it doesn’t break). These air forks are much better than previous ones but they aren’t as good in the rocks as my setup XPlor forks.

    • @JB-th4bx
      @JB-th4bx Před rokem

      Race Tech has some really good stuff. I bought the gold valve kit for my AER 48 forks on my 18 300 XC and it made then night and day better. Shortly after, I found a guy selling his KYB SSS converted forks and I convinced him to trade for my air forks and a bit of cash. TBH, I would rate them just a hair below my revalved air forks, which surprises me because I fought the stock fork for so long. I'm a believer in revalves now.
      I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever you decide.

    Are you going to race it with the stock suspension?, I'm sure with a little fine tuning it will probably be pretty good, gas mileage doesn't seem that bad with such a small tank, it's on average probably good for 50 to 55 miles per tank which is better than my older carbed 300 with a bigger tank.

    • @highlandcycles
      @highlandcycles  Před rokem +1

      Yes. This would be fine for an intermediate rider. The motor is easily manageable. The mellow map is really good for that and the hot map is only crazy when you twist it hard.
