Im kinda glad it went off track with the time jump. Its a whole new show since this episode and I feel like its gonna have a grand ending that is not a cliche.
after the first 2 episodes i was sure he was going to put it back on Gene and by the end he calls gene in jail and says i got you but then the jump. will laugh my ass off if it turns out like roseanne ending lol..
All of the movie advertisements are voiced by Bill. It's impossible that Barry could have voiced them, and given that Sian Heder played themself in a cameo, it's possible that Bill Hader actually exists in the Barry universe.
I am so curious about the other cast members. Hank owning LA, The Raven walking around with respect in prison and Gene...only came out of hiding due to his ego which now has put an X on his back again. These characters really haven’t changed we just see more of who they are clearly.
my guess is that this is a move by someone to get Barry out of hiding, most likely Fuches, to try and recconect with him. Fuches know how to trigger Barry and that makes sense to me
Nah gene I feel has changed. The very next scene he reveals it was a lie just to try and convince them not to make a movie and that he doesn’t want any attention to himself
He’s definitely making a play on Barry. He had to kill his own son to finally realize what chasing the limelight did to him and is now finally ready to focus and do the “right thing” unlike last time He’s definitely gonna die in a really tragic way tho. Probably gonna attempt a murder/suicide
It’s ironic isn’t it. Gene was a therapist before becoming an acting teacher and used his manipulative tactics to keep people paying him for the classes. He also wanted to be in movies and even became jealous when Barry got his shot just like Sally did. He then used his acting to set Barry up, and now used it to sell his story once Barry was caught for his own gain. Gene while did having good intentions at the beginning of the show definitely wasn’t really a good person. He always had the potential to become this petty little man, and it’s cost him everything.
I've only watched till season 3, but Gene has had every reason to set Barry up. He killed one of his students, he killed his girlfriend, was holding him hostage by threatening his son and grandson and was essentially exposed by Janices father. And nevermind the fact that taking Barry off the street was an absolute good for wider society and the right thing to do. I don't know why the fanbase judges these characters so harshly, we are all fallible and people seem to forget that.
Either Gene cant stand the idea of being left out of the biggest story of his life because his ego is too big, or he’s doing this to try and trap Barry.
Most likely a combination of both. Gene used the story of what happened with Barry to get alittle more famous like Sally did till he killed his son, so in a mix of fear, denial and anger he ran away until it was the perfect time get barry.
@@DiegoMartinez-ur7gi I bet you're right. 8 years in solitude won't change a man like Couse. He's definitely just trying to get back in the limelight, and Barry will kill him before immmediately being killed. It sounds like a copout ending, but I think it's fitting they both die together
Its crazy before Season 4 trailer, I predicted barry would be convicted of Detective Moss’s murder and they would turn his story to a movie. It seems I was partially right
At 1:12 the bottom of the phone has a cut-off article about gene that says “…acting teacher who shot his son” - still no clear sign if Leo is alive or not
I've heard that Hader expected the audience to simply accept that the entire episode was actually real life and not some twisted delusion in Barrys head like in previous seasons. At first I was sure that it was a delusion and any second it would snap back and they're still in the living room and shes calling the police or something. But the longer is went on I was like, this is real innit? Then boom, back to Hollywood
Theory that gene has been using this 8 years to physically train incase Barry ever came, and he is just as capable with a gun as Barry now, ending in an epic showdown
I know everyone thinks gene is using this to get barry out and I agree. But it seems like barry would be too wise to fall for a sting again. I think barry would at least watch out for it but I could be wrong.
Right before the time jump, wasnt Fuchs talking to their kid?? I'm curious how No Ho Hank turned out after what happened and now he has LA with an army
@@wereman08 i imagine it could develop in a thread of Sam exploiting the fact that Sally ran away with a murderer, and Sam using that to rewrite his own history to the world by being a “survivor of abuse”, and perhaps Gene going to WB for the Barry biopic could result in him calling out Sam (if it is him) and his lies, in which Barry may find some respect in Mr Cousineau for standing up to Sally’s ex and end up turning himself in due to seeing shades of Sam in himself. I am almost entirely wrong about this as the show always diverts in unpredictable ways that are marvellous but it’s always fun to theorise with this show, despite all my theories usually not becoming a reality lol
@@mrx2964 that's not a bad theory but the only issue is there is no way no how gene is redeemed in barry's eyes. gene killed his son because of barry (even though gene shot him, it was because he thought it was barry) and ruined his life over Moss' murder. i don't think he'll get over that one very quickly. as for Barry he was put in prison by gene and was taken for a ride of trust that is inevitably destroyed. if gene works with anyone, i bet it'll be fuches in some way to try and bring Barry out to kill him, and perhaps it'll end with both of them being killed by Barry. real wild-card is hank though, as anything can happen with him. gonna be an awesome 3 episodes
@@mrx2964 That would be really interesting bc while we’ve seen the worst parts of Gene in recent eps, he still does at least have some morals. Another character I’d love to see but is probably gone for now is Albert. I thought Albert would show up again when Barry started talking to the FBI bc he’s extremely competent and knows Barry and then would possibly have to physically fight or manipulate Barry alongside Gene and Jim to go back to jail for good. But considering Barry now has a son and he killed Jim’s daughter, I’m interested in seeing Jim’s reaction to that and if he’d be willing to get even rather than get justice.
@Chuck N bro its called build up and world building😭 like they can't just do a time skip and just go straight back into the action they gotta let you dwell in it a bit
