    Ma Long is kryptonite for Felix. ML slows down the pace of the game. It is more convenient for Felix to play with Fen since they have the same rhythm of play.

    • @mryan4452

      Advantages of side angle:
      1. Speed can be judged better
      2. The ball and table can be seen at all times, not sometimes blocked by the near player.
      3. Distance can be judged better.
      4. Both players body language as they strike the ball can be seen far better.
      5. Camera is usually much closer you can see the game up close.
      Advantages of top angle.
      1. You can see the back of the bat better.
      To me top angle is like watching a 2D computer game. I know many think the exact opposite, but I cannot fathom why.

    • @randomfish9451
      @randomfish9451 Před měsícem +7

      @@mryan4452 Yes, you can "enjoy" the show better and feel the speed of the rival with the side angle as it is closer and clearer. But, if you truly know the sport, you will realize the importance of the placement of the ball and to recognize different strategies the players are using. It's not as intuitive to feel what the player is facing and what the player is trying to pull out when you watch from the sides. You simply lose a the sense of the "path of the ball" (and spin) from the side view since you are closer to one side than the other side. Watching Table Tennis isn't just about feeling the speed and watching the players' face expressions clearly.

    • @mryan4452
      @mryan4452 Před měsícem +2

      @@randomfish9451 I've heard that before, but I can see the spin and trajectory well on side view. Is there anything else claimed that is better about the camera behind the player? No offence meant but the 5 points I made are objective factors, what you described is a subjective factor. And on that subjective factor, I believe side view is better. But that's v much open to interpretation, others will say the opposite as it's subjective. But the objective factors I described are more difficult to dispute.

      Table tennis is becoming more interesting, more attractive for beginners, and more entertaining with longer rallies, more techniques visualization, more athletic techniques visualization in 2024, thanks to that many professional tournaments choose lightweight balls. Even the new 2024 year Nittaku balls are more lightweight than old Nittaku balls. But these balls need to become more lightweight, for example 2.5grams balls instead of 2.7 gram balls.
      Lightweight balls are great for table tennis sport. It makes table tennis become more attractive and easier to begin for beginners in our busy world. It is very important to make table tennis become easier for beginners, because nobody will pay few years to train just for capably beginning play amateur social table tennis games in our busy world. Today in our busy world, people require that the minimal beginners training time of table tennis to be just FEW WEEKS, BUT NOT FEW YEARS AS IN THE CURRENT VERSION OF TABLE TENNIS WITH HEAVYWEIGHT BALLS 2.7GRAMS. It can be achieved by apply lightweight balls, for example 2.5grams balls, then it exactly will require beginners to train only few weeks in table tennis with lightweight balls to get skills to begin play serious amateur table tennis games for funs/healths/communications. It will attract billions new beginners come and remain playing the version of lightweight ball table tennis as social sport. Thus of course it will put table tennis sport in new leap high level of popularity in entertaining television and in worldwide social playing sport too. Of course it will put business of table tennis equipment manufacturers in new leap prospect and profits WHEN BILLIONS NEW BEGINNERS CAN EAYSY PLAY REAL SERIOUS AMATEUR GAMES OF THE VERSION OF 2.5GRAMS LIGHTWEIGHT BALL TABLE TENNIS AFTER JUST FEW WEEKS OF TRAINING. (In the current heavyweight ball table tennis, new beginners need minimal few years of training to play amatuer games, so most of them leave table tennis or simply not begin to play table tennis).
      Thus it is common motivation for all, for ITTF, for table tennis equipment manufacturers, for table tennis tournament administrators, for table tennis sponsors, for new beginners, for professional players ... TO AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLY REACH TO CONCENSUS OF APPLYING NEW LIGHTWEIGHT BALLS IN TABLE TENIS, FOR EXAMPLE APPLY THE 2.5GRAMS LIGHTWEIGHT BALLS INSTEAD OF THE CURRENT 2.7GRAMS BALLS.
      Do you want to attract billions new beginners playing and remaining playing table tennis ? Do you want that your amateur relatives sisters/brothers/sons/daughters/husban/wife ... can easily begin playing serious amateur table tennis games with you for healths/funs/communications after few weeks of training, but not after required few years of beginners training as today ? Do professional players want to have higher salary and higher costs of prizes ? Do tournament administrations and sponsors want more audiance ? Do table tennis equipment manufacturerers want to have billions clients, but not very few clients as today ? All parties will be satisfied by just SIMPLY GLOBALLY SWITCHING TO LIGHTWEIGHT BALLS 2.5GRAMS INSTEAD OF TODAY HEAVYWEIGHT BALLS 2.7GR.
      Thanks to lightweight balls, it is now possible to exist many equal competitive playing styles in table tennis sport. It makes table tennis to become more wealthy various, more entertaining. If use heavyweight balls, then other playing styles can not be competitive in table tennis sport, but just smashsing - countering style can exist only.
      It is advised that you boycott all heavyweight balls in table tennis, because heavyweight balls steal your playing time. Heavyweight balls lead to shorter rallies, less ongame time, and more offgame time for picking balls.
      Thus, the ITTF must as soon as possible apply lightweight balls of 2.5gram to replace the current 2.7 gram balls.

    At this point it looks more and more like the Harimoto scenario. Prodigy comes up to the Chinese players with a load of talent and energy and puts up great fights. Everyone thinks at the speed they are growing they will be taking some trophies away from China. Then you realize no matter how much better they get, they are always a little short of their Chinese counterparts. The old king (in this case Ma Long) is too refined and has too many counters to any trick the young challenger has. You can get on almost the same level but not at his consistency. Before the king eventually ages, the young king (Fan Zhengdong, and before you realize it's Wang Chuqin) comes and Timo Boll still have to be the guy when it comes to standing up against the Chinese...
