    hi, this looks like one massive project to just replace some plastic... can I ask, what would happen if you continue to drive without replacing this? will it cause more damage?
    also, do you recommend doing and replacing this by yourself or bring it to the mechanic to do?

      Very sloppy steering and probably start to damage the the shafts then have to replace completely $$$$

      i just did this repair to my camry
      i personally would save who knows how many hundreds of dollars and do it myself. the steering shaft is definitely heavier than i expected, but the part that i struggled with the most is removing that damn foot air vent. it was tricky to separate the clipped halves to pull it all out (in 2 pieces).
      i thought i had messed up my steering wheel alignment because i was twisting and turning it as i was lowering and pulling outward/back the whole assembly. when i went to reassemble and fasten, my tires were straight but my steering wheel was 45 degrees rotated, then i put my key in to unlock the steering wheel it all went back as normal.
      it was my first time doing this repair and all the videos i saw didnt mention that "error" so maybe its not really an issue.
      its as easy as it looks, its just pretty heavy lowering that thing, this method is the best honestly, you dont have to worry about alignment issues... according to my 1x experience and all the videos that display this method.
      i'm 165lb 5'8, had to do some twisting and turning to get up and under there but if i can do it maybe you can do it, id recommend you do it yourself if able. save you money and gain some experience and knowledge, also feels good to know you did it yourself
      going back to my "error", at that point i lost all hope and thought i screwed something up. but went ahead with the repair only to realize i did it correctly 😅
      and that annoying sound and vibrations were gone.

    What type of noise where you getting? Chasing a noise... Mimics a intermediate shaft noise
