How many people recognized you?
Where is Meredith
@@billystreight8940 Looks like this one was with the wife and kid(s).
The Black Hole Fashioned at Epcot’s Space 220 was pretty good
Greg got tipsey at Disney World so he could expense his trip to the business account. A genius for our time.
Similarly you'd have to pay me to go there.
@@shplorf1977same here! Unfortunately my fiancée is a Disney adult, so I will at some point find myself at the (un)happiest place on earth! My excitement knows no bounds 🥴😳
my immediate thought as well lol.
The trouble with being your own boss is that you’re still the one paying.
*Me over here on the IRS website trying to figure out how much of this trip is deductable on his taxes*
The fact he tried The Jedi Mind Trick two times without knowing it just further enforces the fact that the name “Jedi Mind Trick” is fitting for the drink 😂
He literally said almost note for note the exact same thing twice
Hey Greg! Disney bartender here love the content! I can happily get you almost all the recipes for any of the drinks you had save for La Cava since they’re kinda third party-ish.
Edit: you went to Sanaa! You may have had a drink made by me! That star mojito is actually just a split base Starr rum and what used to be Van der hum Tangerine Liqueur
Please do.
What a coincidence. That’s super cool
Could be also fun to make it so that Greg first tries to make the drinks by himself and then compares it to the actual recipes as to how close he's gotten
Talk about pixie dusting!
Bro, don't get fired. Disney doesn't F around with it's employee rules and intellectual property.
I didn't know that you are epileptic Greg. My daughter has epilepsy, she's 21 and has struggled to have a "normal" life. I'm glad that I now have a hugely popular CZcams creator to refer to when we talk about how hard she's trying and all the work she is putting into trying to lead a normal life living with seizures.
I was only diagnosed a couple years ago, turns out I have temporal lobe epilepsy. I had no idea because I've never had anything like a grand mal seizure, just general weirdness that I thought was normal. Turns out a lot of stuff I was just putting up with can be treated, which was nice to find out!
@@howtodrink Grand mals are no fun, I had my first one while driving on the Freeway nye 20/21 and woke up a week later in the icu to a whoooole new life, but it's slowly getting more normal again.
@howtodrink no way! I have Frontal Lobe Epilepsy and never had a major issue with color changes but never really responded to them well. I'm fortunate my seizures only hit me when I am asleep, it was a fight to get a driver's license.
Glad to meet another epileptic, Greg. I found out I had absence seizures my sophomore year of college. Was getting ready for church one morning - walked out of my closet and woke up in an ambulance. It's a good thing that I hadn't gotten my drivers license yet, or things could've been much worse. Stay safe and sane this 2024. We love what ya do here.@@howtodrink
It's great that you're able to still drink while being an epileptic. I have to be careful with alcohol I consume. At most a single cocktail every now and then.
The worst drink there is definitely the water fountains. They are foul.
The aquifers of that area are horrendously filled with sulphur
I actually would love to hear Greg’s tasting notes on those
Many years ago when I went, it was ok.
I feel like the decision to put Disney, Universal, and Busch Gardens in Florida was intentional to sell more drinks cause the tap water in most of Florida is horrendous (though certainly safe) and the fountains seem to serve it up somewhat warmer than lukewarm.
It's specifically the magic kingdom that has the extra bad water, and I don't know why
Drinks around the world could be a great series. Maybe even the more historical cocktails from some countries could be so fun!
Oh yeah it could be super fun! Honestly, even with nonalcoholic options or snacks included, I’d just love to see Greg vibing in EPCOT since it’s my favorite park
I would love for Greg to try out a Finnish classic: Salmiakki (salty liqourice) Vodka AKA "Salmari". People here unironically love salmiakki, but it's an acquired taste.
Another more accessible Finnish drink is Finnish Long Drink AKA "Lonkero" which is a mixed drink with gin and (usually) grapefruit soda. Perfect for warm summer nights.
Epcot drinking is amatuer hour. Disney springs is 10x better and animal kingdom by far has the best bars.
True but a necessary key stepping stone for any Disney day drinker
@@jaynova1219 If you're referring to that facebook group, don't bother.. They're irredeemable... If you had any idea what the local service industry knows about people that are admins and the people they praise, you'd probably be disgusted with them. They as a whole have to make everything about them too.
This has gotta be in the contest for the most expensive episodes in your catalog. I don’t quite remember how much the drinks were at Disney but I remember they were not cheap
Oh yeah, Disney parks are all expensive. I have no doubt each of them were well over 20$
You can see some prices starting at 6:57 Not cheap!
Honestly 14-17$ is less than I expected, considering Bud Light etc is >8$ at most places there
Some notes from a Cast Member for your next visit:
Skipper’s Canteen is basically the only place to get decent drinks at Magic Kingdom. Next time you go back to Galaxy’s Edge, I strongly recommend the Jet Juice from Oga’s. It is, in my opinion, the best drink at Oga’s and one of the best drinks on property. Animal Kingdom as a whole has pretty underrated drinks, Yak and Yeti specifically has some drinks that are pretty solid if a little sweet. In Epcot, the Blackberry Moonshine Sour in America and the Violet Sake in Japan are huge crowd pleasers. Neither has really been my thing but your mileage may vary. To me, Disney Springs is way better at night on like a Friday when people are first starting their trips. If you go midday on a Sunday, you’re gonna run into mostly families that have been stuck with each other for a weekend and are ready for their flight home. It is in a lot of ways just a Mickey Mouse shopping mall, but there’s also some great food, great live entertainment, and usually a pretty good atmosphere cb v
I enjoy that the mocktail you liked so much, The Mentirosa, means "Liar" in Spanish. What a great name for a mocktail!
Greg: Hates too much sugar and too much sugar hates him
Also Greg: Loves to torment himself with sugary nonsense from theme parks and booze distributors xD
The Jedi Mind Trick was so good you had to review it twice!
THE DRAMATIC HEAD TURN FROM THE LADY AT 0:12 WHEN GREG SAYS “HELL” I *CAN’T* 😭😭
My biology lab instructor told us how to "drink around the world" and she said to start at Mexico if you don't think you can finish it, and to start at Canada if you want to try to finish it.
If you do the drinks around the world it'd be interesting to see what you drink compared to what she suggested
Mannnn...the BEST drink for me was the Frozen Moroccan Mint Tea with Bombay Sapphire Gin. It hit the right notes of being sweet, floral, and the bitterness of the tea. It was so refreshing being frozen AND minty, it was the best thing to have in a 100+ degree day.
A man of culture here. My favorite drink on property.
Sounds dire
Lefou’s Brew is overly sweet, but honestly what I was looking for when I went there for my sister’s graduation. Surprised Greg didn’t note the marshmallow flavor in the drink. But yeah, if you wanna feel like a kid, that drink is perfect for that, even if you can’t handle it well lol
Thai Basil fizz is definitely something I want to see if they can make better on a future video.
The cornerstones of Thai food are peanuts, basil and Thai chilis. This flavor is often seen in Nouc Cham, which is a vinegar dipping sauce that uses the previously mentioned. When it's made correctly, you can practically drink it because it's so good.
I could imagine a refreshing gin cocktail made with those ingredients. Alternatively some versions of Nuoc Cham use fish sauce. Perhaps they can make a savory cocktail with fish sauce. An obstacle that comes to mind is that Thai holy basil is insanely refreshing when eaten but it imparts mostly a grassy taste when infused into simple syrup or booze.
Agreed, it's a really good idea, perhaps his was just lacking good execution.
I remember suggesting that Greg should use the Skrewball to make like a liquid Pad Thai cocktail during one of his old worst bottles in the bar episodes
Went there twice for work before the pandemic. With all those kids around, how to drink in Disneyland for me is early and often.
First stop lmfao
The biggest crux to your drink experience at Disney will always be who's working that day.
Some of those drinks at the parks aren't kept well or made on the spot. So sometimes you end up with a cup full of mixer.
Then you have some bartenders that like to break the rules and properly make the drink with right amount mix to alc.
Wait so the proper amount they have to add is breaking the rules?
Don't usually put comments on any videos but I had no idea you had epilespy! I got diagnosed last year and its been such a ride. I was told not to drink because of my medication, which, for a former bartender, sucks. It's so nice to see public figures that have epilespy, especially someone who makes drinks for a living!
Tommy Bowe from Smosh makes a Pad Thai cocktail that uses Skrewball, Thai basil, fish sauce and oyster sauce that apparently tastes exactly like Pad Thai. They did an episode of their show "Eat it or Yeet it" 5 months ago where he made it and showed how to make it.
La Cava is my favorite place to drink at WDW. The magic they work with tequila and mezcal is wonderful.
Nomad Lounge is a hidden gem. Not everything is amazing, but they have some standouts. The Tempting Tigris is especially good, and yes, it NEEDS a giant rock instead of theme park ice.
At Oga's, the Yub Nub is fun and light. The Slug Slinger is my go to for the kick. They used to flame the sage, but apparently it set off the fire detection too often.
The single best drink I've ever had at WDW is the Twisted Fig at Steakhouse 71. Monkey Shoulder, Cointreau noir, fig simple, and orange bitters. It's divine.
I’m so glad you’ve decided to make a Part 2 where you recreate some of the drinks. I was just about to comment on how good of an idea tht sounds like. Looking forward to next week’s episode 😁
I’m stoked!
There’s a drink in TIKI that uses an avocado oil-washed tequila. I use that in margaritas now too- it’s fantastic
I had the Polynesian Mai Tai at the Polynesian during my last trip. It was absolutely fantastic. They used Plantation Rum and I had to remake it went I got back home.
Plantation run is solid, especially at the price. It is my go-to white rum, and you simply cannot go wrong. In my opinion, it's the Sobieski of the rum world.
Derek from Make and Drink did a short calling the Tempting Tigress the best drink at Disney a while ago and I've been curious about it ever since. Looking forward to part 2!
Trader Sam's might be my favourite spot in all of WDW. The Nautilus is one of my favourite cocktails (I'm very partial to fruity and sweet though). Plus that mug! So pretty!
On your mention of being a parks vlogger, I wouldn't wish that nightmare on you. But I feel like you have good insights into the parks as someone who is a fan of the parks and their history, but also (as far as I can tell) someone who dislikes soullessness in products and appreciates the artistry of things. If you did a monthly video or one even every other month on the second channel about the parks, I'd enjoy watching them.
Alright Greg, this video just raised a question and I’ve gotta ask lol. When you and your wife go out and order drinks on a normal occasion, do you turn off the drink critic persona, or do you review every drink haha. And if so, does she agree with your tastes, or does she ever tire of you telling her how her drink doesn’t taste as good as it should 😂
I could be way off base here, but he strikes me as someone who will silently run the critique in his head but won't tell you until you ask what they think of it, and they usually want you to ask 🤭
Good to see you Greg. And I was very delighted to see you had this wonderful episode(s) planned for us. Awesome stuff, as always, can't wait to see part 2.
I look forward to seeing you make the drinks you liked. I would also enjoy seeing you do the world tour and such.
I would love to see this continue with other Disney World drinks.
Great episode. My family just took our first Disney World trip last fall and this had me bathing in the joy of the place all over again. Also showed that we need to make a second trip and hit up some of these spots/drinks!
Definitely do the around the world episode!!! Me and my family love to do the kiosks during food and wine as well as the flower festival. Would absolutely love to see an episode of either!
No comment on the show other than that Greg is really rocking the silver beard.
I didn’t realize it until now but I think I love this channel so much because Greg has a tremendous dad energy. He reminds me of my old man a lot
Thank you for even briefly mentioning how you prefer Flower and Garden! It's my personal favorite (got engaged and honeymooned during F&G) and Food & Wine always overshadows it!
Im glad you were able to expense this trip to Disney! Loved the video, hoped you had a blast.
This is such a cool format! almost vlog-ish but with intercuts of present (?) greg...
So cool! Would love to see more!
No El Diablo at La Cava del Tequila? Damn, that's my favorite. Every time I go to Epcot I get two just for myself.
Excited for that next episode! I love watching you reimagine drinks that have juuust enough potential.
It would be cool if Viski had a "How to Drink" section like Curiada does or even a collection with your favorite glasses, tools, etc. I'm starting to stock my bar so it would be cool to buy one big collection that has an assortment of glasses and tools already put together for me vs. grabbing things that approximate what it looks like you use or like. Just a thought!
It was Genuinely really nice to see all the Visky glasses all lined up like that, they really look great!
Excited for part two!
Thank you for your content, I just ordered most of the tools you use. I’ve never made cocktails or drinks before but your videos make me want to try.
This type of episode is amazing! I love the idea of searching for great drinks and learning how to make them. I wouldn't mind seeing more reviews of Disney or Universal beverages.
You mean I could've met Greg at work?! Shame I missed y'all. I work for the mouse and can say, would've been a treat to see y'all down here
I'll be back so, you'll get more chances
Love your stuff as always! hope you and Meridith can find time to get the podcast going at some point but no rush life is life
Great video man!
EPCOT has a ludicrous amount of great drinks.
Glad you didnt die! Was getting worried when I had to wait 2 weeks for a video haha. Keep up the great work!
I've done the drinks around the world thing twice at Disney so I'm super excited for recommendations!
I'm excited for part 2!!!!
Some of these sound really interesting, looking forward to part 2 now.
Now that you've tried an assortment of Disney drinks, you absolutely need to make your way over to Universal Studios. Not the park itself, but one of their hotels, Sapphire Falls, has a restaurant called Strong Water Tavern. It's a tapas and rum bar and it is absolutely incredible. It will blow anything you had at Disney completely out of the water.
Gotta tell you, Greg, you're easily one of my top 3 favorite youtubers. Your videos are topnotch fun and helpful for a bartending hobbiest
We’ve got a trip there next week & I’ve never seen one of your videos until CZcams suggested it today. I usually watch nba and theme park video so this is refreshing. I appreciate your work !
Going to WDW next month for the first time - the timing of your video is perfect!
More Greg Disney content? I'm in.
I'm so excited to see next week when you rework them with your idea!!
Love it, it does change a few things once I could drink and experience Disney.
The Tempting Tigress is my favorite! And we have made it at home too. Good stuff!
Great video ! Can't wait for the recipes video !!
Literally leaving for Disney tomorrow with my wife and 2 daughters (4 & 1). Bless you, Greg.
Greg, I love you! I love the show. I love that you love WDW. We do not see eye to eye on Disney Springs or several other WDW things but I respect your opinions. Thanks for making this video and I look forward to the next one. BTW I've several of your Star Wars and Galaxy's Edge drinks.
this is honestly a great call back i started watching Greg while working for Disney World back in 2019 can't wait for part 2
The Zombie at Trader Sam's was my personal fav last trip went to the Tiki Terrace though not the actual bar
Great content and I agree with everything! Next time you’ve got to check out Enchanted Rose at Grand Floridian (many great drinks) and Steakhouse 71 in the contemporary (try the boulevardier there!)
Interesting... you mention the taste of coughing up tonsil stones, which I know quite well... because I currently have strep throat. I usually love recreating and tasting the drinks you showcase on here, but this is one I wish I wasn't currently experiencing. Looking forward to next week's drink recreation episode, though!
You really hit most of the greats. The Tempting Tigress and Nomad is my favorite Disney cocktail. But one of the big sleepers of cocktail spots at Disney is Enzos Hideway. Great great underrated spot with awesome bartenders.
Glad you went to Jock Lindsay's! Really liked that place when I went.
excellent timing I'm going next week!
Happy 2024 Greg and crew! Looking forward to the videos you'll bring all of us this year!
Nomad Lounge is our fave guilty pleasure. It CAN get busy. But its nice to be tucked away on an outdoor seat to enjoy listening to the hustle and bustle as we relax with some small plates and a cocktail. My fave is usually the Snow Leopard Salvation. Partly because I like ginger beer drinks. Partly because I need that ginger in the belly before dealing with the 3D tech on the awesome Flight of Passage ride.
Really enjoyed this video. Wouldn’t mind more like this. Even locations outside of the WDW/theme park scene.
Your Fuzzy Tauntaun recipe is what brought me to your channel a while back! 🍻
Awesome episode. Yes on drinking around the world. And yes on Epcot festivals. Can’t wait for part 2!
Also, a crossover episode with @PagingMrMorrow in the future = 🔥🔥🔥
I like this style of video! Fresh idea
I would love to see you recreate the best drinks and give them your spin!
Coming this week!
The way that lady whipped around when you said uncles wants booze something from hell 😂
Been to Disney a few times and have drank around the world a few times. But I am chef and love doing the food and wine thing.
keen for the next episode. dont keep us waiting
More Disney drinking! Love seeing it!
I get on CZcams to watch cocktail videos and Disney videos while I workout. Imagine my pleasure to see this. Great stuff.
The Uh-Oa and the Zombie at Trader Sam’s at the Polynesian resort are a must whenever I visit Disney World 🍹
Love the episode ! Glad you honed in on the Tempting Tigress - spent months after my trip there learning how to perfect Tamarind syrup. As an experienced Disney cocktail enthusiast, though, you got some bad advice in Disney Springs. You should have hit the Splitsville bar upstairs, the lounge bar at Morimoto Asia (which does some great stuff with Japanese Whiskies) and Enzo's Hideaway for their Old Fashioned variant, which is a perfect place if you're looking to escape heat and noise. Also for Vol II you need to hit Topolino's (Modern Fashioned), Bar Riva at Riviera (for everything), and the Enchanted Rose (the best actual "cocktail bar" on property).
Just found NOMAD lounge too....I loved the Annapurna Zing and I hate Gin. Hubby got the drink and I tried knowing it had to be awful.....my next drink was this!!! AMAZING!
We did Around the World during food and wine festival with a large group about a dozen or so and it wasn't too rough of a day. Start early, go slow, remember food as well as drinks, stay for the night show, and you'll likely be fine.
Though I wouldn't suggest it with kids. Not exactly what they're looking for.
But this was amazing timing as my buddy is going to Disney for his 40th with his wife. They'll enjoy the reviews you gave.
We stayed at the Boardwalk and went to the Abracadabar a couple of times and really enjoyed the atmosphere. We were there at a really low time of year, so I was able to talk with the bartender a bit about cocktails, and he was great. I had a Sazarac and really enjoyed it.
I remember loving a drink or 2 staying at Fort Wilderness. They have a tavern over there with a dinner show that is amazing... With all you can drink Beer and wine. At least a few years ago. Best on property experience IMO.
Also love the travel log content would love to see it expanded. I think you would love Broadway in Saratoga Springs NY. Some of the best cocktails I've ever had came from there
I was at WDW the same days as you (worked for Disney for a bit and got free tickets which we were expiring, so I took my mom) and I've searched the background for myself, but couldn't find me. I swear I remember seeing that woman and her baby in the grass during the first few seconds. I would kick myself if I knew I was so close I could have said hi. Super fun episode - can't wait for part 2!
At House of Blues in Disney Springs, I once tried the Beast of Bourbon. It’s a really nice Old Fashioned made with Knob Creek, maple syrup, and chocolate bitters. It sounds like it would be too sweet, but it was wasn’t at all. It was quite well-balanced, letting the bourbon shine through.
We love doing the Monorail crawl on the hotel loop. Also, Jock Lidsey's Hangar Bar in Disney Springs is our go-to watering hole. When we're in the area.
Ha. Love this. Reminds me of the chaser days when you were out and about.
Loved Nomad Lounge & loved the Tempting Tigress as well when there. Next time, if available, sit outside in the back. Can watch the river boats with characters and bands going by
Enjoyed the show. Looking forward to a show about the Trader Sam's Tiki bar drinks.
Got a set of Viski glasses for Christmas. They are gorgeous.
Greg we really like ragalin road and the hanger bar at Disney springs, love the dark and stormy and well the pear cider
The best cocktail I ever had was at Epcot, in the Mexico district. I got a rum smoothie with pineapple and mango, it was pretty amazing, I got two of them. Not very strong.
I can’t wait to for part 2!
Hey now Greg, my brother and I love Trader Sam's too. Once while sitting at the bar, they lowered his seat every time he took a drink! Would love to see some of their odder drinks.🍀☘🍀
