  • Following on the April conversation in which host Clare Kumar shared her diagnosis, she thought it's worth expanding the discussion into the blurry line between high sensitivity and why she may have found herself a fish out of water in both sensory communities she spent time in last year.

Somewhere in minute 46 you mention putting it in someone’s mind’s eye.
Well, I’m autistic, dyslexic, fairly normal vision (for now) but also, along with other things, I’m an aphant, and I have a degree of face-blindness.
Icons cause me problems because of that. I need text, and big enough at that, since vision isn’t perfect. So, properly-used text helps aphants as well, and is even more critical.

HSP is considered autism lite in many autism friendly spaces. Ive heard influencers say that HSP is what people have before they realize theyre autistic. an interesting conversation would be talking to elane aaron about how HSP is an ableist concept supported by rich white women in the USA.

i would love to chat with Elaine Aron more about this.i believe her to be an open-minded scientist. i did ask her about use of the term neurodivergent and she was open to using whatever term was helpful.

@@ClareKumar please reach out to her. I've heard that she is very invested in her HSP brand, but more and more people in her family are identifying as autistic. we need to get a bunch of hsp's in an fmri machine.

@@ClareKumar a good conversation starter would be asking her if she believes HSP's are Neurodivergent.
