I honestly love watching people fall in love with Billie's voice, and Finneas's production skills. It's like Billie's only haters are people who don't listen to her music. SO FREAKIN TALENTED

You mentioned you were a sound engineer or something like that? I bet you’d enjoy the rolling stone interview where Finneas and Billie break down the production of bad guy. It’s absolutely genius! And the “snippet into billie’s mind” series where she breaks down some of her songs. I bet you’d find it super interesting. They are a whole new level of artistry.
I think she'd also enjoy Finneas on Jimmy Fallon talking about the everyday sounds they use in songs. He talks about Bad Guy but also Bury a Friend.

Omg your so right. I am exactly the same as her, and watching and listening to those two videos was both awesome and astonishing. Absolutely mind-blowing.
the album tells a story (listen before i go, i love you and goodbye form a sentence), it has so many deeper meanings behind the lyrics. example, goodbye is every first sentence of the songs put together backwards. the end of bury a friend links into the beginning of ilomilo.
also , the harmonies in xanny are used in goodbye
Hi, I just thought that I should show you guys this. This is all a comment which was made by @Anyea Jones so credit to them. I just felt like this was so relevant and yeah. I actually put this together as well, but the way she said it is so great. Get ready for a roller coaster ahead of you.
This Album is like a story to me
(I know that these aren't the real meaning of the songs)
Bad guy- You are strong and independent and the abusive relationship you are in doesn’t matter to you. If you wanted to end it you could.
Xanny- Some good friends of yours are doing drugs and you end up ditching them because you don’t want to end up like them.
You should see me in a crown- Your abusive boyfriend from bad guy is back and he won’t take no for an answer.
all the good girls go to hell- Although previously you refused drugs and were always sensible you now realize that all that was pointless.
Wish you were gay: You fall in love and he rejects you and you can’t stand it.
When the party’s over- Your ex boyfriend who keeps stalking you texts you saying he wants to get back together but you don’t reply because you don’t want to be with him.
8- You meet your crush from wish you were gay again and you decide to be friends but you are in love with him and he doesn’t like you like that and you run away. Your heart is broken.
My strange addiction- You begin to stalk your crush. You secretly follow all his media and you can’t stop thinking about him.
Bury a friend- You start getting depressed. You have no one. You ditched all your close friends and all your crushes don’t love you. You are currently in a relationship but you don’t really feel anything for him and he is desperately in love with you. You feel like your using him.
Ilomilo- Your old crush goes missing. He’s been missing for months and it’s mid winter. You end your relationship because you feel like you don’t deserve love because you made your crush leave.
Listen before I go- you decide to commit suicide because your life isn’t worth living. After texting the love of your life, you jump.
I love you- but you don’t die. You wake up in hospital. At first you wish you were dead but you start to get happier. You make some new friendships at therapy and you start to live yourself again. Your crush comes to visit you.
Goodbye- You explain all of your feelings to him and then you both depart as friends. You decide to keep in touch
Anyways this is me again, (@Anitelu Eukaliti ) and I just wanted to add in this crazy thought I had. Ok, so in first track '!!!!!!!', she says, "I have taken out my invisalign, and this is the album. " So I was thinking about that, and I thought, what if, you fainted from the pain and shock of removing your invisalign. And the whole story is basically an entire dream. And then the last track is like the dream fading away, slowly going through all of the events that had occured, and then you wake up. And maybe that's why the album is titled 'WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?' ??? bahaha anyways, thanks for reading this all the way down. This probably proves how much of a Billie Eilish fan you are!! Goodbye and have a nice day!!

Thats the crazy fricken thing, SHE IS ONLY 19 NOW, and she has accomplished more than most artists do in a lifetime, this is unreal. Old guy here, I was late to the party but so glad I joined it. This is once in a generational talent. When Alicia Keys does a cover, and SHE doesn't come close to the original, thats all you have to know. Holy Shit!!!
This album... It wrecked me emotionally as well. I think it does that to a lot of people. The deliberate sound of it all and the placement of the tracks is perfect as well. Both her and Finneas are incredibly talented people. I'd been listening to this through a break up and it does a good job of bringing out ones emotions. There is one lesser known song of hers called Come Out and Play that helps me put the pieces back together. It is encouraging and helps to restore some confidence.
Love that. Music can be so healing. It’s embedded memories in me for sure.
Your 100% right, everything about the Album is GENIUS. The order of the songs is like when you meet someone, at first its light (Bad Guy) and as you get to know someone, then as the relationship grows (as you listen to track after track) you understand more and more about the person until you have a deep multi-dimensional understanding of the person. I'm in my 50s, and this maybe one of the greatest albums I have ever heard.
Goodbye is actually just a lyric from every song going from the bottom to the top of the album. Its absolutely genius. I think it implies how her nightmares and everything goes on a cycle and never stops. I love you so much Billie.

The Bad Guy synth refrain was inspired by the theme song from Wizards of Waverly Place. The Outro was written first, by Billie. Then they wrote the rest a year later, inspired by the Trap-style heavy base Outro. You Should See Me In a Crown opens with a recording of the sound made by her father sharpening knives in their kitchen. Wish You Were Gay was written to her crush...who came out to her as gay, after she played the song to him. IloMilo is a video game about two friends going through a moving maze trying to reach each other...so that they can hug. I Love You was written on her brother's bed to capture how the loved other.
AAE: I'm interested in the suggestion you seem to make in your final sentence about 'I Love You'... if I understand it correctly, you are saying that they wrote the song about each other? If so, can you point me towards any interview/live performance where either of them say this? I have completely misunderstood the lyrics if it's true. There's also a rumour that this song was about Billie's relationship with 'X' but again, I've seen no confirmation anywhere. Billie usually introduces 'I Love You' at her live shows with the story of where it was written, as you mention, but has never to my knowledge said they wrote it about each other, or that it's dedicated to the memory of 'X'. I'm not trying to throw shade on your comment, I'm genuinly interested. R (Australia)

I looked this album up after seeing this comment and...I'm shook.
If we enjoy and adore Billie Eilish's music so much as is so why do we culturally want her to sound more like so many other singers and especially female singers out there? That sound is covered. Let Ariana or Christina or Adele or the hundreds of others lining up outside some reality shows doors do that thing. Lets love Billie for doing her thing the way we love so many others (mostly males) for their uniqueness. Lets love her for her incredible talent and the emotion she invokes in us without even having to break glass. And lets love those who follow through the doors behind her that will no longer have to adhere to the status quo that we often use to judge female artists. Really looking forward to that "mainstream" paradigm.
