OneUp Composite pedals:amzn.to/2Hr7tHH
RockBros (their price has almost doubled since I did this review. If you need/want the larger platform, consider the Crankbrothers Stamp1 listed below): amzn.to/2G5RoH1
I've recently been running the Crankbrother's Stamp 1 on my Kona Honzo. They have a larger platform similar to the Rock Bros but with better quality: amzn.to/331O34E

I have been running inexpensive Fooker pedals for a year now, and love them.
Rockbros are great, been running a pair for a couple years.
About to install a pair of those on my bike. I went for eThirteen pedals initially because they were on discount. But the seller had to cancel my order so I thought screw that, let's go on ebay. We'll see how it plays out :)
The XL/Wide RockBros is a winner for me!
My eBay notifications said my Chester pedals have been delivered literally 1 second after I clicked on your video!
I ride the chesters and LOVE them. I’ve bent some pins on rocks but was able to ride through it. I took one ride in Santa Cruz on the rock bros and snapped them on mailboxes. Had a horrible ride on half a pedal. No more rock bros pedals for me!
Rock Bros alloy pedals all day & twice on Tuesday! 🤘🏽
just what l needed to know l do have a wide foot and l ve used SPD s on my bike but lack of float or having to loosen the clamps too much to get some was not great so l ve went back to flats for comfort but they are not the same ,l like a wider pedal too and l was looking at these too ! NOW THE SHOCKER lm using them on a road bike so l dont worry about strikes as much NOR do l race just ride alot SOOO comfort is king !! THANKS
Nice comparison man. Keep up the good work!
Wow what a great comparison and video you have some really good shots to with you riding and I really appreciate the specifics and measurements as well as your opinion on the Rock Brothers pedal sticking out a bit further. Subscribed and notified for your new ones my mank
Thanks! I have several reviews coming!
I agree. Quality detailed content with details that cannot be found elsewhere. Made the decision easy.
I have the one up , love them , wide and grippy . Another one to mention is the dmr v6 for those on a budget, the pins are plastic but they the grip is decent, good for a dirt jumper or bmx .
Sizes are why I like the Stamp.
got some Chesters today, so much nicer than the basic pedals that was on my bike. my feet do not slip off or shift anymore.
Chester pedals do me good 👍 I mainly ride in town or long distance paved trail rides.
I own chester pedals. Love em I also have on my intense m1 some old suntour that still spin and bearing are great. I just can not replace em. I got my wife stamp ones in her hardtail. She does not know the feel of MTB yet so her opinion is hey they work. Plus you in pa
I actually ordered the rock bros today didn’t know it was a knock off but it seems like he does actually like them
hey tell me your experience with Rock bros pedals?
He didn't not like them. He just prefers name brand stuff that costs almost twice as much. For most riders, and especially those with big feet, the Rockbros are perfectly fine.
@@Eloneo809 I bought some, haven't been on many rides yet but they felt great. Foot felt planted on them and they have way more grip than the pedals they replaced.
if you need a bigger peddle for a larger foot, try the crank brothers stamp. They make a large size and you wont have to worry about quality.
I've recently acquired a set of Stamps for a hardtail buildup and I'd have to agree. The grip doesn't seem quite as good as the OneUps, but close.
Rockbros just arrived £13 🇬🇧, that's $14 ,AWESOME PEDAL ,SOLID SMOOTH BIG LIGHT THIN
I have the one up pedals and like them but I prefer my origin 8 retox pedals
Great job reviewing these. Appreciate your time and effort.
Nice bike too btw!
Were do you live ....North East? Looks a lot like the trails I ride in Connecticut and Massachusetts. Cheers brother.
Thanks for the kind words! I actually live in Kentucky. The Northeast is definitely on my radar to come ride though!
The irony of it is, there's a ZTTO dropper lever on your bike. Don't get me wrong I use it too and it's super cheap then a Wolftooth. Function wise it's the same.
I had actually never considered the irony in that. The even greater irony is that I actually built my Hightower with a OneUp V1 dropper lever initially, which I assume to have had the same composite material as the pedals. I turned the back over in a corner and snapped that dropper lever in half. I ordered the ZTTO because I could get it the quickest, and it remained reliable for the whole year. I do believe the V2 OneUp levers are better. Nice catch.
@@DrJMTB One up has new fabulous levers. Test them.
Excelente video! saludos desde Chile
I got the Chesters on Ebay for 37 bucks. Love them!
I was considering to buy rockbros and fake chesters. Thanks for the video
Same quality wise in my opinion.
I have small feet, size 8 US. Are the Rockbros an overkill for me? Should I get the RaceFace/Fookers instead? Thanks
Good reviews, mate!
Could you please compare the internals as well?
Pretty sure they're serviceable, but I've never had to do it on a set of Chesters with literally years of use, and I've been on the OneUps for one of the wettest winter / spring seasons I can remember, and they're still running smooth for me. No idea on the RockBros. I'm keeping to my word and riding them as backups.
Perhaps you could tell me what weight of person will these pedals support im 125kg im a big bloke and im a bit worried the composite pedals might fail.
RockBros pedals are awesome 👍😎
Just got something, best pedals I've ever had at 55 years old
The only expensive pedals that I own are the Catalyst pedals. They feel so great for my size 14 feet. I can only afford one lol
Sir i just wanna ask if you can put strap on it because i want to use it on my fixie
Which pedal lasts longer? ball bearing, sealed bearing or DU bearing?
I just had a pair of the rock bros break in the trail on me after about 400 miles. Not worth the $20 I saved initially!! Just got a set of chesters
What was the component, that broke? Bearings, axle, platform? I was going to buy rockbros like these for casual riding
Oneup will be ok for shoe size 8 (five TEN) ?? Or maybe ja tak big for small shoe
How is Rockbros a rip-off when they were selling those even before One-up was a company? 🤔
One Up purchased the patent and Rockbros knows the factory who has the mold so stole it.
@@CaBdosdos If they differ in size, then they are not using the same mold, do they?
@@impact0r Yea it can be any size with scaling they change the molds...I should have said they also have the 3d files to reprint them and change anything they need to and save costs.
@@CaBdosdos You sure seem to have a lot of insider information on this one.
Was hoping to understand if the one up middle bar is as high as the rock bros (no the edges) because o got the rock bros recently and the middle bar of the pedal is way higher than the edges and it's a bit annoying kinda inverted concave feel...and you loose traction on the sides if you have a stiffer shoe sole
I’m pretty sure that OneUp is the same in that regards. I was looking at them before I chose Spank Oozy pedals because I thought that would annoy me
What make and model is your multitool?
what saddle do you use?
what's your shoes size?
Im curious if Chester v2 has more grip.
I definitely like the way they look! It would be worth trying.
Cool, but i wanna know Ansjs bike pedals, how do u think of ansjs brand?
hi friend,
How can I contact you? I am kapvoe brand cycling glasses
Can I send you some glasses for testing?
To not buy something because of where its sold seems narrow minded. Especially when you didn't find anything wrong with it.
I know I’m super narrow minded…
@@DrJMTB Clearly.
I dunno man. But based on old knowledge anything that used to come from China has terrible quality control. It just stuck with most people but nowadays brands like Rockbros are okay especially for their price. Can't really complain about a pedal that cost 20 bucks.
You have a hardon for the oneup
The one up reminds me of the Guy who after buying an Indian v-twin instead of the Harley has to explain himself to everybody as to why it’s such a better bike 😂
I’ll stick with the race face Chester Black
DeanBooster I admire your dedication to a $49 pedal. I could care less which one you ride (or which one I ride for all that matters).
You sound like your feelings are hurt that Chesters aren't the be all and end all.
@@DrJMTB if you could care less, that means you care some - maybe even a lot. Which suggests Dean had a point.
@@impact0r you got me
Same pedal made slightly different in the same Chinese factory $20 cheaper? I’ll promote that all day. No reason to stay loyal to a company dependent on Chinese manufacturing. Cut them right out of the loop. 👍🏼
That's what I thought after seeing the prices on my local mtb websites.
