In year three, we might have people talking about how this contract is an absolute steal. We’ll have to see how much Tua, Dak, Love, and Lawrence end up getting. If the Lions didn’t pay him, someone else would have. Secondly, the way the contract is structured means that the cap hits will be pretty well distributed. Over 70 million of it is a signing bonus, which means it can be added in any amount spread across those four years to the cap. The team has plenty of flexibility in how they take those cap hits. The final year is also an option year, so they’re not even fully locked in to those four years. Finally, when we look at the market, we should also look at total contract value. In average cap hit, Goff is second right now, but in total contract value, he’s eighth, and that’s without the guys I mentioned above getting their contracts. 😂🤷🏻♂️
What a terrible take 😂
Yup. I’m stupid for thinking Goff shouldn’t make more than Mahomes. 😂
@GarbageTimeSports Mahomes took a pay cut for the team. Also isnt a contract year. Of course Mahomes should make more. Doesnt mean Goff signing was wrong.. and to say Goff hasnt been a GREAT QB is wild. Hes been playing at an elite level. Best Red Zone QB in the NFL....
I would be so happy to take the L on this. The lions winning the SB would be amazing and I would be so happy for that city and the fanbase. But all I have to do to be right about this is not have the lions win the superbowl in a couple seasons where Goff's cap hit is outrageous? Ill take that bet all day long. They can win it this season and I would still be right. Haha
Garbage Take
Thanks dude! But it’s Garbage Time. 🤓😂
Jared Goff is Andy Dalton. There's a reason the Rams ran him off.
He’s better than Dalton, but he is not top tier.
@@GarbageTimeSports What is top tier? Is he Patrick Mahomes or Tom Brady? No, but no one else is in this league either. He's a top 5-10 QB in the league. That means he's going to get a contract worth about 50 mill a year now.
@@danielpudvay1486 he’s not elite or great. He’s towards the top of the “Good” tier. Around 10 feels right.
@@danielpudvay1486 not worth it in my opinion.
@@GarbageTimeSports Who exactly is elite in your mind?
Goff is a adverage QB everyone knows it,Brass has surrounded him with superbowl talented players ,the hope is by improving the defense we can win the NFC,after all we made NFC Championship game with one of the worst secondary in the NFL,problem is Jared Goff hasn't improved,he has lost his last 7 games vs SF and 2 straight with Detroit, another huge problem is no adverage QB like him who lost a superbowl in over 50 years has ever returned only 5 have and all 5 are in Canton.Lion brass knew these facts but thinks Goff can beat SF and lead us to a superbowl IT AINT HAPPNNING its sad how we as superbowl starved to put our hopes in a losing type QB just shows how desperate we are
“Jared Goff hasn’t improved.” So uh, are you actually dumb?
A average qb that was in the Superbowl with the rams an nearly took Detroit there if not for our defense an he has a winning record against mahommes how is he just average
