      I don't remember much of her, but I do remember her volunteering to go home despite being a powerhouse in spite of her injury. It really says something when 1) your team is telling you that you're still better at half strength than the full combined strength of the two they put forward, and 2) you get a standing ovation from the opposing team out of respect and recognition. Would have been nice to see her return in a later season.

    Ji's elimination was just heartbreaking. She powered through a whole service while standing on an injured foot, earning mad respect, but the pain afterwards was just too intense for her to keep going and she admitted it. She selflessly eliminated herself because she knew she couldn't keep going, as it would only drag the team down. Lacey is actually a really good example of a full blown mental breakdown. She became incapable of even basic cognition, couldn't comprehend things like timing and was just moving from pan to pan without doing anything with them, almost just pacing around. She would have been trying to figure out what needed doing and what to prioritise but as soon as she tried to generate a list of things to do she became even more overwhelmed. I've had breakdowns like that before at work and it's almost impossible to pick yourself out of one without some serious R&R, and then a phased return to work.

    • @MilkyWayGrump
      @MilkyWayGrump Před 2 měsíci +2

    • @MilkyWayGrump
      @MilkyWayGrump Před 2 měsíci +5

      I said this on another video re: Joseph's elimination that I think is relevant this comment:
      The reason Gordon wanted Joseph to not only name the elimination candidates, but also give reasons for why, is because he expects even the people who are safe/staying to understand, and be able to articulate, why a person is up for elimination/cannot be allowed to remain. When Joseph kept refusing to give reasons why his teammates were being sent home, not only was it cocky and disrespectful of him, it's also him refusing to actually explain what they had done wrong. If it's so obvious, and "they know what they did", he should also know, and have no trouble spelling it out.
