Listening to this for the first time all the way through whilst going on a late night walk. Gotta say, Luke still speaks so well, he's able to very clearly express frustrations regarding the state of the football club and he echoes the thoughts of many fans concerning the potential issues we might face going forward. So thanks for that Luke it's very much appreciated.
I really enjoy luke being on, I feel he expresses how I feel really really well. Shame no one at the club cares to listen.

Biggest signing for us next season is the manager/coach!!!
New style of play is needed, new squad, backroom staff… basically a total reset!
The new coach needs totally backing by the board..and a long term vision is needed!
We need an identity, young team, energetic, high press, footballing side..
Next season will determine for me weather or not this board has any ambition and will be judged by their coach appointment and new signings…??

Best video I've watched in a long time. Everything said was spot on going back all those years. Same as Luke it kills me to see the club in this mess. If everyone stood up to be counted then change would have to come. Unfortunately there are too many members of the positivity posse who are too busy abusing fans with concerns to actually sit back and look at the mess we are in and try to do something about it. These owners have done nothing but run the club into the ground and divided the fan base.

Just because you might not like what others say about something regarding example recruitment is the right or wrong? So long as you can back it up and not just say it’s shit which when I do live shows if someone say Warnock manager I ask why? What reason

Great video chaps. Obviously I am getting behind the lads 100% tonight but, it's very difficult to block out what's been happening at our club. It's not negativity, it's just facts. This season alone we've had EFL Charges, poor management recruitment, poor summer transfer window, expulsion from the FA Cup, poor January window, accusations of staff being bullied by senior members of the board and then finally, the cherry on top of the cake, leaving us managerless going into the play offs because we didn't check Thalhammer's work visa before sacking Collins. It's been a shit show tbf. And this is on top of what Luke was talking about going back to 2017. It's critical they get the next appointment right because if they go left field again and it goes tits up, we'll see the toxic atmosphere come back to Oakwell like in the 21/22 season and I'm sure, nobody wants that back again.

The next choice of manager for us is critical, if we go for a cheap option it will be disastrous.
Agreed 💯 I said the same last season and we got Diff and it proved as the season went on
Thankfully eor us Richie Wellans has signed a new contract I was getting a bit worried that he was going to walk away with us getting no compensation, hopefuuly a lot of the out of contract will stay and we avoid all the long term injuries we suffered this year we could not even name a full bench last week, hopefully you get a positive result tonight giving you something to defend for the away leg, good luck.

Feel like you got a lot of stuff of my chest for me.
On formation we should be playing I said exactly same as Luke before last night. 4-3-3 with a front 3 of Cosgrove, McAtee, Jalo. Definitely need to be brave and do something different in the away leg with a 2 goal deficit. Literally nothing to lose now and everything to gain.

Can't disagree with any of that. If we'd got the 4/5 players we needed in Jan we most likely would have got top 2. But then again that would have been just papering over the cracks and not dealing with the root problems, which is the ownership. I think their hearts in the right place, they just haven't got a clue how to run a football club. End of.

Quite a few cans are saying the same and the frustration is in the air with our recent run of late yes we are in the semis but what is the plan and ambition?
Zero point in getting promoted, would be just as embarrassing as the 21/22 season if not worse. Poor recruitment costing us year on year. All the money in the summer we got in transfer fees seemingly missing? We are in managed decline and I’m worried we will become like Donny, play off hopefuls to mid table league two. Even Herbie Kane was saying in the summer the manager needed backing.
When you strip it back that’s what you have to ask short term or long term what is the aim of the board and club
We're of one mind, Additionally Shaw goes out on loan, rarely plays (even though scoring the winner against Rangers), So are we stipulating how many games our loanees play. Can't improve sitting on the bench.
So many issues with the players at the club as in terms of not ready at this level or an unbalanced squad
Come back Luke more often you speak the truth mate it is a disgrace what has gone on this season and the owners have no ambition whatsoever even in league 1, it' like a non league outfit mentality

The Crynes, Nareev and JAQ have their hearts in the right place to take our club forward. The issue is that we still have the stain of Conway and Lee at our club! That stain is taking a while to be fully removed and cleaned up. Barnsley will only ever rise up the leagues in a sustainable manner when we have a Barnsley born and bred owner - someone who has the money but also the heart deeply ingrained in the town. We all marvel at Ipswich now however, I would hate to think the millions and millions that have been spent over the many years of sufferance before getting to where they are today. We cannot afford to do what Ipswich has done as we will lose our club forever. Patrick Crane once said of the Ipswich owner back then that if he was to stack his money up and jump off the top of that stack he would kill himself from the fall! We need to take small steps, recruit with intelligence and strike the right coach! Small town clubs can do it!

Completely disagree with your take on the current board and ownership sorry, judge us by our actions, remember that? why haven't this re-jigged board changed tac from a recruitment/ sales process that is clearly failing season on season? If anything this aspect has gone into Turbo-shit mode this season with the non-league recruitment that haven't figured. Why haven't they employed a manager to manage and pick his own playing staff? Lee still has shares in our club although no longer a director I'm fairly sure, Neerav came in with Lee and Conway lets not forget, JAQ brings nothing to the table really, the crynes, especially James, are facilitating failure with this crackpot bargain basement player recruitment process. They all need to do a 180 immediately or sell the club to someone who wants success, then get out of Barnsley FC for good. Nothings changed apart from a few faces at boardroom level, emperors new clothes unfortunately. You reds!

I think in part you agree with me :). I have not said that the current board are perfect. I am not sure there are many football boards that are perfect. What I was attempting to say is that Conway and Lee are a stain on the club that needs to be fully removed. Yes Nareev came in with the others however, of all of them he came in because of a love of football. Conway and Lee came in for other non savoury reasons. JAQ is to be admired because frankly she cops plenty of abuse but still stays the course with passion.
You ask why haven't they employed a manager to manage and pick his own playing staff? That is because that practice has proven to be a fire quick way to kill a club - particularly in today's world of huge wages! It's not me that says this it is evidence based - I refer you to the fantastic book "Soccernomics" that explains the reasons for having a coach and having the club control finances associated with buying and selling players. A lot of clubs have taken buying and selling players out of the coach's hands. I also refer you to a CZcams interview of the Arab owner of Sheffield United after taking Wilder - he says that "after 30 years in football he has learnt a lt but major lesson is you take buying and selling players away from the coach"'. Basically in summary if you allow a manager type coach to take control of player contracts then what happens when that manager is sacked or leaves is that the club is left with contracted players (usually on horrendous contracts) that can send a club broke.
My view regarding the board was that the best owners would be those born and bred in the town (their heart ingrained in the town). John Dennis was one, Patrick Cryne was another. Patrick Cryne also once said that supporters ask him why not just pay a player what he wants and keep him? His answer: because the player will not stay at Barnsley for money as they want to play at the highest level possible - I go a step further - when faced with for example Ipswich or Barnsley then the player's partner will say Ipswich - sad but a reality. As a further example - if rumours are true and we do get Hourihane in as a playing coach and he succeeds to any extent as a coach with us he will be gone to coach the "next step club" as soon as he can.
Finally - my view is that yes there are certain individuals that are owners that must be kicked from pillar to post out of a club. In my view and for what it is worth, the Crynes, Neerav and JAQ are not the type of owners that warrant this treatment and we are very very lucky to have them! Unless of course you are aware of others that are willing to put in their money (in significant amounts) with no return other that a return of constant abuse, slander, critical comments from afar?
