    If you're a dark autumn, or suspect you are, this video should help you learn about your color palette, what colors to avoid, and follow the 12 season color analysis seasonal guide. I explained it as thoroughly as possible and tried to keep it as short as possible.

      Yessss I'm muted and warm but true autumn looks too bright and light autumn is too light and looks really odd. One of my best colours is olive but olive from the light autumn is awful on me but dark olive is the perfect colour on me. Yet people like to say you can wear all the colours in your season. Not for me .

    My undertone is more neutral and that always confused me with these color seasons. This makes a lot of sense. My hair leans more warm and in summer both my skin and hair get even warmer. I have pale skin with dark hair and eyes. I like wearing true black tho, but I enjoy a more edgy look. I used to hate brown, but I've been embracing them more recently

      You can typically borrow some colors from the sister palettes (such as black from dark winter). I am also neutral leaning more into warm (warm neutral). So silver does not make me look sickly and green, but gold is slightly more flattering on me.

    Wow that literally blew my mind. I’ve always wondered why so many trendy clothes and colours just look terrible on me and this is 100% it! It’s not that my body is weird or that my face isn’t pretty enough, it’s just that a lot of trends will never work for me no matter how much I like them on other people - I’m looking at you cottagecore.. The monochrome thing actually made my brain explode though. I had never considered contrast as an element when outfit planning but it’s definitely the common thread in all my go to outfits now that I think about it and the main reason why matchy matchy sets look so off on me. I cannot thank you enough for putting this out there!

      No Im not! But I do read their blog/ have their book 📖 and it’s one of my fav resources for color theory. I take a lot of the wording from them because they just explain it in english way better than I do. I also read Carolina Aubele’s book on color theory and personal image and have done her course and another image consultant course in Argentina - the teachers name is Soledad Valenti. They both offer online courses too but in spanish. They helped me a lot and it took some time for me to actually notice and train my eye to see color properly and notice which ones flatter someones skin more. There’s a few people online that have great blogs and videos too and I love watching case study videos, they made me learn a lot.

    WOW! It finally all clicked for me. This is one of the single most helpful style videos I've ever seen. I've been confused about my coloring for a while. I always thought I was a dark winter because I have high contrast with dark hair and light skin, I look good in dark blues, greens, and purples, and I look very unhealthy in most shades of yellow. But over time I noticed the dark winter pallet was weighing me down and I felt like I disappeared under it. I also noticed I liked the way I looked in brown, peach, orange, and even bronze, and that my undertones were subtly warmer than I originally thought. But most of the autumn and spring pallets seemed too golden and low contrast for me. Now I'm pretty sure I'm a dark autumn and am going to have fun playing with these colors and textures. Thank you so much!

    Thank you so much for the comment about shimmer in makeup. I finally worked this out by trial and error years ago when highlighter was all the rage and the Springs and Summers were basically covering their faces in glitter. Same thing with lipgloss. It seems nothing looks worse on an Autumn than sheer, glittery lip gloss. I find I definitely gravitate to ultra matte lipstick.

      it doesnt matter that much anyways because your palette stays more or less the same due to the dark aspect of your colouring. i get really pale in winter and wear a lot of deep winter colours and they suit me just fine, in summer when my skin gets goldish i could never pull that off. so its just a matter of picking your favs within the deep cool and warm range. the colours i wear are drastically different in summer and winter

    Yay, great summary of Dark Autumn from theconceptwardrobe which I love! The only part that doesn't work for me is, as a Kibbe Romantic I need lots of sparkle and shine, so I don't use contour just maybe a little bit of bronzer. I LOVE a natural looking highlighter. But everything else said here has helped me choose my best colors! :)

    • @e.nataliareyeshdez.3557
      @e.nataliareyeshdez.3557 Před rokem +6

      I'm also a Kibbe Romantic but believe me that sparkle a and shine aren't that necessary. You can easiy take advantage of the sparkle gold jewlery make. Put more focus on the shape of your clothes rather than how shiny it is. That's how I've been doing it and as far as I've gone, it works perfect for me
      Also, cottagecore is not impossible, you just gotta match your color pallette and your kbt

Something that clicked for me was when you were going over the makeup portion, 10:01 I usually always get compliments on myself when I make my eyes or lips the focus. I use a strong highlighter, and sometimes I have gotten compliments on that too, but that still is usually when I also tan my skin and keep my eyebrows dark to some degree (which seems to look better on me, as well.)

Turns out my skin is actually neutral/neutral warm. My dark grey eyes and dark hair make my contrast my most noticeable trait. I still love to wear black because I love an edgy look and sit close enough to neutral to make it work, but I’m leaning into more deep, muted greens and browns now. I can also do medium and deep browns, all shades of red except tomato. Neither silver nor gold looks better. They're just equal. I've never been able to figure myself out lol. My best advice at this point is to try and notice when people compliment you and what you're wearing. For me it was surprisingly deep cherry reds but also a slightly warm lavender.

      @@dianaben18 Have you figure it out yet? Cause if not: Try finding two shades of the same warm color (preferably orange or red, but any warm color should work) one that's muted vs one that's brighter. Try taking picture of your face (without any makeup) right besides the colors and try to see which one makes you look "more alive" (less tired, in other words lol); if you have trouble noticing which one makes you look better, try asking friends or family that you trust. If you find that the brighter color enhances your beauty way more, you are more likely a bright spring; if, on the other hand, the muted color makes you look better, or both of them _really_ have the same effect on you, you are most likely a deep autumn.
      If you are still doubting try the same thing but now with a soft shade of a warm color vs a deep/darker shade. If you are a deep autumn the deep color will make you shine; if in contrast the softer color looks as good or maybe even better than the deep color then you are most likely not a deep autumn.

    Btw, here's an interesting story! When I was a teenager, I would purposely stay out of the sun, and because of that my skin had more of a 'cool' color to it. Thusly I would wear mostly silver jewlery because it looked better (I never liked GREY clothes though). However, When I got older I started to LOVE being in the Sun. ☀️ And it was then my natural 'warm' glow started to shine and I began loving GOLD jewlery because it just looks way better. As of now I am still loving GOLD and desire to own real pieces of it someday soon!! It's such a beautiful color and really compliments my Warm/Bright primary colors. 😍👑💫

    Neutral undertones are either green or gray. Warm undertones are orange, orange red, red, and yellow,. Neutral warm is a mixture of some cool undertones AND warm undertones, but still warm all the same, it is slightly yellow, but not fully yellow. Neutral warm means slightly warm, or slightly yellow.

    I think the high contrast color in outfits idea just saved my style 😅 ive been falling into monochromatic outfits on accident and wondering why they arent working for me/like you said in the video, making me look dull! Thank you!

    7:18 Now it finally makes sense why movies with low light with a deep autumn color palette when a character wears a lot of shine especially on the face it looks "weird" it's because it gives a icy finnish to the skin but when the movie has a bright cool color palette the characters look great with dewy skin

      Dewy skin actually looks better with brightness and warmth. Bright + cool suits frosted or glittery finishes best

    Love this! But feel the opposite about a few things. (the monochrome and shadows/shimmer comments - perhaps flipped with winter?) Think highlight in natural colors is very important for autumns and that shimmery eye makeup is the key to not looking flat and grey. And that monochrome in rich colors is the most flattering... But that could just be my opinion!

    I can’t wait for you to do a warm autumn video! I am a dark autumn, but I believe I still carry the ability to trend towards true autumn. Everything in this video was well suited for me until I got to the make up. I look much better and more alive in true autumn make up than I do in dark autumn. Dark autumn can give me a seductiveness, but it tends to be too heavy for me. Even though I have very dark brown hair, I have medium green/hazel eyes and bright skin that are overshadowed by too much darkness. For example, I don’t relate to the darkest colors in the dark autumn palette, just like I don’t relate to the lightest colors of the true autumn palette. However, I successfully pull off everything between a “dark” true autumn and a “light” dark autumn. Does that make sense to anyone? Lol.

    • @zsofiasej
      @zsofiasej Před rokem +2

      This is me exactly! I’m technically dark autumn, but when I saw the palette for true autumn makeup, I instinctively knew those looked more natural and “glowier” on me. I *can* wear the darker, richer makeup colors of dark autumn, but that would be if I wanted a more dramatic, smoky look. Another weird thing is I can and do wear black all the time, which is supposed to be something only a dark autumn (vs soft and true autumn) can do.

      DA & TA can borrow colors from each other's palettes, because they're sister seasons. I think for the clothes, it wouldn't be too much of a difference as long as you choose warm, muted colors. When buying clothes in shops, drape them on you to see the effect on your face. As for makeup, do/ use what you feel best, IMO. :-)

    crazy how i've been choosing everything right, i've always hated pastels and neons on me, the whole highlighter make up trend never worked for me, brown eyeliner always made me look better, some days pure white clothing made me feel washed out, gold jewelry over silver but silver still working just fine, and the list goes on

  • @violoyolo8262
    @violoyolo8262 Před rokem +3

    I always think that white makes me look darker and uneven skin color on my face look more visible. Off-white or anything that is not pure white work best for me. Also dark brown somehow makes my skin glow. I thought it's because my skin are too dark for pastel color (color I like) but I think I might be Deep Autumn since the characteristic also match 🙈

    Hi Mikaela! Thank you for posting! I knew I was an Autumn, but I struggled with make-up and those colors that are warm, but still wash me out. I always stayed away from rusts and mustards, but after watching the video, I bought a few key pieces, and they help. I am 4'11", so monochromatic outfits lengthen me, but don't do much for bringing out my coloring. Accessories in those lighter colors are helping balance that petite dressing vs. accentuating color dilemma. Your video also helped me understand why some "Autumn" colors were still not my best and how make-up could accentuate my coloring by going with understated eyes and bolder lips. Definitely an example of "less is more" and when I tried it, it amazingly works ! Thank you, my beautiful sister!

    I probably am a dark autumn, but mostly only wear all black outfits but always with lots of golden jewellery and I found that to be flattering for me. I cannot at all wear clear whites though and banned all whites from my wardrobe, only beiges and light brown left.
