It's crazy that EA paid for exclusive ESPN licensing rights and never used it. They had no intention of improving their presentation, they just wanted to kill competition from the NFL 2K franchise.
Thought they used it for NBA live?
They did and their gameplay was so poor compared to 2k they couldn’t compete and continue to make the game. Same thing woulda happened to madden had they not bought the exclusive NFL license.

We've finally sort of caught up to Madden 08. Players rejoice!
I just have a bad feeling superstar mode is gonna be nothing like we remember, It's hard to rekindle the love of a game mode that's been gone for over a decade & so many devs could've come and gone since then. I bet none of them worked on Madden 12s superstar.
Wonder if right before you pass the ball it shows network error, then as it resumes your qb was strip sacked and your opponent is about to score a TD.

Not really; however, it's been reported that EA is taking a "make or break" attitude with Madden 24. If sales aren't where EA expects them to be, then there's going to be some major changes. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if EA decided to skip next year's edition of Madden since they already have a game called Madden 25, which was released during the Madden 25th anniversary (they skipped Madden 14 to do this). So, perhaps they'll allow their developer two years to make a better game and return with Madden 26.
