Operation Unicorn, Part II, lowering the front end of a 2022 Honda CB500X.

This video describes what steps are needed to drop the front forks of a CB500X so my 4'11" wife can safely ride it.

Torque specs for triple trees:
Top: 16 ft/lbs or 22nm
Bottom: 24 ft/lbs or 32nm

I wasn't able to get a straight answer out of any of the companies that make lowering links for the 500x, but there is definitely a taper that starts below the machined part of the fork where clamps are in stock configuration. I have read you're never supposed to clamp on a taper. How has the fork held up? They make it sound like it'll implode if you go as far as you did.
Also, I'm with the other guy, we lowered my fork and had zero need to take the fairing off to move the front fork in the triple clamps. In case anyone else is reading, you definitely don't have to do that.

Changed it to a T-REX one.

Why did you need to remove the fairing?

To lower the forks since I dropped the frame. You can't get to the bolts with the fairing in place.

@@bikerforlife5222 I was able to lower the front end without removing the fairing and I didn't have any help. I'm not bragging I'm just not seeing why that was necessary.
