Geometry Rulers and Patterns Some Tips I picked up along the way some I invented. Please share your in the comments! instagram: @jimmydiresta and @direstashop thank you
You all prolly dont care at all but does someone know a method to get back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb forgot the account password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me!
April, i also follow your channel. Love the way you explain things, the same way I love how jimmy explains. I believe Both of you are like the queen and king of the DIY prom.
Well after all these years, you are not just brilliant, but wise....say what? Thank you for sharing all this wisdom, I'm glad I found this series. Well done. There is something here for everyone.....even an old .... like me.
Love your tips.... Some of them you shared I was shown by my Grandfather more than 50 years ago. Being a kid, I either didn't understand their worth or thought they were archaic and had long forgotten them. Thanx for the kick in the butt! Now all that "useless" stuff he showed me is seeping it's way back into my head. Hope there's enough space in there to keep it all in !!!!!
Among his many talents, the one I envy more than most, is Jimmy's ability to freehand draw designs, even rough designs that are later refined by these tips.
what you share with us all is information that not anybody is ready to share for free... you are like a teacher for me and a inspiration I really want to keep learning from you... you're the best Jimmy!
Used the negative space tape trick last week! Had to line the floor of a Ford Transit truck with plywood and needed to get the angle & curve of the wheel wells. Worked like a charm! I made sure everyone I was with working knew where I got the idea! 🙌🏻
I really appreciated this one. I have dyslexia, and other crap that makes it almost impossible for me to figure this stuff out with math. I rely on these kinds of tricks to get me through projects daily. You the man, Jimmy.
jimmydiresta I used your tip on dividing equal quarters to put coat hooks up on a reclaimed door! Talk about saving me a headache! You da man! Love your vids! Thank you!
Thank you Jimmy. While all of this is useful, the "find an angle with cardboard" was very helpful this weekend when I was building a dog house for/with my nephew. Keep up the great work.
wow!!! you are a genius, the tip for finding complex corners with tape or hot glue cardboard is awesome, no more wasting materials for this guy.....thank you sir, 🙇
I really enjoyed this, it is interesting to see your solutions and the way you learnt shop geometer and once again pointing out things that look so obvious but yet have completely by-passed me up until this video, thanks again
I saw you wearing your powerlock tape measure in one of your videos about 8 months ago, and how you would pull in from your hip to use it. So, I started doing the same thing, now I always measure twice (or more). This stuff is one of a lot of reasons why I watch everything you make as soon as I can. Thank you for all that you share with us.
As if you couldn't get any better you make Old Greg references to your cat. You sir are perfection.

These tips are ridiculously great for a newbie like me who spends too much time complicating things. This is the secret on how you get things done. You just do it.
I love the tips and tricks. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with me and the world. The old Palm Sanders head for a hand sander has been awesome in my shop. I've seen a few is this one I can't wait to use.
Holy crap, one of the best tips video! So many tips I never knew. Who knew the little cut out on the end of a tape measure was for a freak'n screw head? Not me! Awesome Jimmy!
Great tips. About 8 years ago I had the opportunity to talk to I believe 5th and 6th graders about the importance of math and science at the time I was a mechanic on a sub in the NAVY. You should consider talking to kids about the importance of math in everyday life.
Fantastic work as always! Keep up the amazing work you do here and on the Making It podcast. Looking forward to more to come... oh, and Spike is a great addition to your shop.
Brilliant, a few I knew, a few I just learned. I have to say i'm holding my breath troughout the week waiting for your videos. Keep up the good work brother!
A few of these tricks my algebra 2 teacher taught our class. Also, that tip about the "carbon paper" has saved my life countless times for last minute school projects!
So many great tips in this video! Thanks so much, Jimmy. I especially appreciate the last tip on finding outside and inside miter joint angles. I will definitely be using this one. 👍

I really am enjoying the tip videos. I work in the trades and there some tips in this video that were new to me. Thank you, great stuff! Especially with the ovals, negative space, and tough angles.
Lots of good stuff on this one. Very cool. I never thought of an ice pick as an EDC type of tool. When I watched the video where you made it I thought to myself how often could you need one, but the more I watch these videos the more I understand the versatility of it.
Had a chance to try your tape measure suggestion....I don't have a problem with losing them around the house, but I do fund that in the middle of the project, I've put it down somewhere out of reach. Kept it on my belt the whole weekend. Took a bit of getting used to with just letting it go, but once I got used to that it worked out really well! Gonna keep that one for sure! Wisdom passed along from the master! 😁
I was totally lost at how I was going to cut my baseboard under my my stairs... Thank you for sharing this you took all the guess work out of it for me!
Man.. so much good stuff in here. I'm really glad you're doing these!!
You don't love a cat until you warm it's ears up with your mouth! Great tips btw. I liked the tape / cardboard on floor for shapes.
