I'm using this AK stuff as my main gloss coat now. Advantages:
    1. Lightning-fast drying. Literally 15 minutes later you can apply wash or decals. No need to wait for hours or days like you do with pledge (future).
    2. No risk of paint cracking. Your paint of some brands (I've experienced it with gunze paints) may be prone to cracking when using pledge (future) as a gloss coat over it. The reason is that pledge acts as a solvent for gunze (and may be some other?) paints. Pledge was set aside after it literally ruined a paintjob on my F-14 model.
    3. It works extremely well over metallics and even makes them shinier (look what the name on the bottle says--"shine enhancer", that's the primary purpose of this product, check the original AK video about it).
Expensive? Yes, but that bottle will last for years, unless your build A LOT.

I have the gauzy and have tested it in various situations and it's going to be my go-to utility gloss for decals. It is VERY good. It's super easy to use, no thinning required (yes really, lots of products say on the bottle that no thinning is required but that's not true in most cases like with aquagloss it's too thick). Its extremely easy to not mess up when spraying (no cloudiness, doesnt run easily and dries quick so dust doesnt get in it) and gives a very high gloss smooth finish with little effort. I've experimented with Alclad's Aquagloss and X-22 thinned with IPA, X20A, and Mr color Leveling Thinner, and out of the 3 the Gauzy is the best. I've also used Mr color GX100 and this is also one of the best gloss coats out there but it is really toxic , seems to attract dust too easily (like statically charged or something) and dries too slow, a bad combo, also can eat decals if sprayed too thick. So Gauzy is currently the winner for me and I will be using it on all my models for decaling and panel lining. I have not tried pledge but from what others have said about its problems I'm not interested and now that its out of production good luck getting it and if you do it's not going to be cheap. Go with Gauzy, its possibly the most under rated, bestkept secret gloss product on the market.
ALSO: if you want the best flat clear coat ever made check out mr color gx114 super smooth flat clear. Out of all my testing with many different products this ones the king of the flats. You will need to thin it with mr color thinner (not the leveling) 1 part gx114 to 2 parts thinner

Additional comment. This is an well known, well used, wide - spread product. The Orange Label is the absolute ultimate for dipping clear - parts /canopies... Thanks mate... sort of... not really... :)

I have it but I am afraid to use it since it is laquer and I fear it will destroy acrylic paint. Pluss its a gloss so my model will shine. I was thinking about buying mr top coat flat spray because it is acrylic and not gloss so my model wont shine.

I have used Pledge in the past on starship like for decals. I have used Sponge brush to paint on these starships. And i can say it doesn't leaves a streeks.

99% of time Pledge will work. But it does eat plastics and decals on occasion. Gauzy being made for models in conjunction with other model products will not v eat plastic, other paints or decals. Using household chems is playing Russian roulette in a Ukrainian hobby store.

Have you tried using this on clear plastic? Does it make them more clear and shiny?

To be honest Pledge is almost the worst gloss coat I've ever used... It runs super easy, and the finish is well... Questionable to say the least... Yeah it's dirt cheap, but gloss coat is not gonna be the thing you use most, so you'll use it up quite slow anyway.
Second worst is the Vallejo Gloss Varnish. It's a real b*tch if you don't thin it properly, surface will be rough or orange peely if you accidentally soak it that way. However, if you thin it enough it's quite usable and the finish is good so to speak. Thin it 1-9 or maybe 2-8.
I used the gloss coat from Gunze. That stuff is quite good (their matte is just rubbish). It goes down well and the end result is almost mirror smooth. You can thin that stuff 2-8 and still get the results, so a bottle there will go very, very slow.
The best I've ever used is this AK-one. Goes down extremely well, super shiny residue-free surface, mirror smooth. A bottle will go a long way, since it's 110ml (that's a lot even for pre-thinned paint), I could probably spray half my stash with a single one. No need to thin, goes straight to the cup.
Whichever you choose, remember... Don't ever use Humbrol Clear! It cracked up my paint and it's super garbage especially if you spray it over Mr Hobby paints. It yellows in a year or so and the formula is inconsistent.
I hope this helps to find the best solution for you 👍

... " GAY - OOZY"... yeah Bobby, mate, that would be "GAW - Z - IE"... that's quite a bamboozling of perfunctory nomenclature. I'm sure AK are REALLY impressed... not :)
