Reoccurring problem with your videos -- timing 😜 You show so many beautiful plants and beautiful combination planters but you're a month behind me in St Louis. Our greenhouse are already cleared out. I've been running around like a crazy old lady hunting down your suggestions like Angelonia and Cuphea 🤣
Thanks to you, I'm trying several plants this year that I've never planted before: Canna, Coleus, Gaura, Angelonia, Cuphea, Rocket Salvia, Caladiums, Wax Begonia, Scaveola, Sweet Potato Vine.
The Gaura and Angelonia are new to me. The others I've known about from working in greenhouses but they were never my style -- but you've shown their beauty and usefulness so I'm trying them this year.
Thanks to you, I've double my flower purchases..... and credit card debt 🤣 but it's worth it because my patio is exploding with flowers ❤

I absolutely love your channel! Your color combinations and plant combinations are stunning. I have been planting flowers for years and I am known for my gardening. I actually plant for both of my neighbors (they give me full reign to do whatever I want) and truly enjoy it. I inherited it from my mother. Your explanation of what you do and why you do it really works for me well because of the way I think and do things. I stumbled upon your channel early this spring, and it really means a lot to me. Thank you for all the love that you put into your work. It is very much appreciated. Have a great summer and I’m looking forward to seeing more of your videos to see how all of your pots turned out.

You are like the Bob Ross of flowers...we can watch what you do, copy what we like and put a little twist on our own designs. I am doing lots of experimental stuff, using the little water crystals in some pots, and the water mats (like disposable diaper concept in some posts) and first and most importantly, recognizing when some plants aren't happy and moving thrm to different locations or to a new pot all together with other plants. I used to judt give up and let them die off.

Love the black and white . First time I've seen black petunias I'd love to come acrossed those here in northern ohio. My grandson picked out a beautiful hanging basket for my daughter for mothers day it was the only one with variety of 2 petunias and a white verbena it was over grown and in much need of tlc. Repotted and fertilized. Looks beautiful it was rootbound and is my first time experiencing verbena. Definitely will be adding more verbena in my varieties. Love the purple ones you got what a beautiful mystery lolLove your videos and all your tips.Ty for sharing your knowledge and experience

I have not planted anything yet this year. I hope I am not too late. I am in Zone 6 and we have been getting MONSTER hail. This is our hail season and hasn't been this bad in the past. With grasses like that, I take my gardening knife and make a big X in the bottom and make a few vertical cuts down the sides. That loosens it up just enough that new roots will grow from there without damaging the plant too much. Also, because it’s very difficult to damage a grass, I’ll put it on the ground and roll the pot with my foot putting some pressure on it and they are usually much easier to remove from their pots that way.❤

I live in south-central Texas (zone 9a) and we can NEVER plant according to the tag information here. A FULL SUN plant will not survive here in full sun unless it is 100% a dessert native. Even our garden vegetables have to have shade cloth over them to live. We are totally accustomed to throwing caution to the wind when it comes to putting stuff were the tag says it can’t be. LOL.

  • @WalkingbytheSpiritAlways

This was a big surprise to me since I just started getting begonias like Non-stop and Glory, and I am concerned that they won't like the southern sun like the angelonia and calibrachoa which I normally grow. Agree with you on how angelonia is slow getting going and gets covered up by my petunias in the mixed plantings. Even the verbenas have a hard time thriving. I had the mango canna last year and it almost broke out of the pot, and I overwintered it in the garage, and it's huge this year. I have three of the Firecracker Fuschia (variegated foilage) and three of the Gardenmeister which are new for me, but they are doing great for me. They get direct southern sun from 11:30-4:00. Your containers are beautiful especially that last one.

The Bermuda Beach has given me a "professional " basket for the first time ever. It has mounded and trailed and i just ended up repotting her and her Verbena friends because they are going crazy.

You’re giving them just the TLC they need. Keep them fertilized and watered and they should keep going all season 👍

Entire rootball needs a shave. The petunias will thank you

I’ve done both, and disturbing the roots hasn’t made a difference as long as the roots are healthy and the soil is good - petunia roots are especially happy to find their own way to good soil.

I fertilize some petunias n they dried, do you know why?

      Dried

If they dried out, that is usually a watering issue... or possibly the fertilizer wasn't mixed at a higher than recommended concentration.

I love the black and white planter! And I would rip up those grass roots, too. I like to take my pruners and slice up the root ball. Sometimes I cut the bottom right off!
