  • Yoshi does mysterious things again. This time by carrying an object that doesn't exist.

Ah yes. The good ol invisible box glitch. Its cool to finally see some sort of explanation for it.

ooh, I had hoped someone would cover this! this one's been in the back of my brain ever since searching up random glitch guides way back when I was a kid. thank you!!

So I guess it's very difficult to do anything meaningful when executing this by hand? You would have to precisely control what spawns next. But to have fun it's alright I guess.

Thanks for making this! , very informative! I'd love it if you made a video showing off some of the heap manip stuff too!

I'd love to see a video where you mess with heap manipulation using this glitch. Always found it fascinating

This is my favorite kind of channel. Along with pannenkoek RGME. Just explaining the programming quirks of old games. Does anyone have any suggestions of that sort of channel?

Is it possible to glitch the game the same way by picking up a box as it gets destroyed by a Tox Box or a Thwomp? That also results in carrying an invisible object.

Glad to see this covered. This is something I've wondered about for a while, but haven't found any explanation. I assumed it was some dangling or null pointer. Cool to see why the graphics break down like they do.

I found several glitches in this game myself. Want to analyze them, Josh?

Do you know why some people in the past have gotten different results from this glitch on emulator than console? Like there was a glitch that caused you to constantly clip partway into the ground, allowing you to easily bypass star doors, but it never was replicated on console.

As far as I know the only real difference between emulator and console for this glitch is that console is generally much more prone to game crashes, so it's possible certain things like the collision glitch cause the game to crash on console, though I feel like I've seen a video of the collision glitch on console before, the main problem is just that we don't have consistent methods of getting those effects.

I love bull egg. Good to understand more about it. Why can’t it be done this way on 1.0 of the rom and only with the spindrifts. Also how bout the yoshi tongue glitch…

That null object can crash the game easily!
