  • On this video you will see the maiden voyage of my new Striker Skiff that I purchased from Nirvana Watersports about a month ago. After adding my accessories and installing a swivel seat! I was ready for the water test. This thing is a beast. Super stable and great wide open space for standing up and fish from it.
    No, this is not a Solo Skiff or a micro skiff. This is a YakSkiff that you can top on the roof of your car or transported on the bed of your pick up truck. At only 125lb! Anyone can handle this YakSkiff with ease. Also able to install a motor up to a 6hp outboard is a big deal. Able to cover more ground when fishing and fish new areas. Or if you want! You can just paddle like a normal kayak.
    I am still in need to do some adjustments to the kayak for better view of my Garmin Striker depth finder and be able to check the speed and share with you’ll. Also adjustment of the tilt on my motor to be able to achieve better speeds. This was my first day! So I was only concentrating on enjoying the ride and take some video to share. Next time I may bring my 2.5hp Yamaha as well and see how she handles that one. The 6hp Hidea was solid! But I think was not achieving the max rpm/speed due to my adjustment. I will work on that in the next video.
    If you have any questions about the skiff please send me a comment and I will try to answer to the best of my knowledge. If you need pricing on the skiff! Contact Nelson at Nirvana Watersports down in south Florida. He haves few of them in stock and ready for pick up or shipping.
    Thanks for watching and please share and like the video. And the biggest accomplishment that I am trying to achieve with video is for you to subscribe to my channel. If you are already subscribed! Thank you and please share with your friends. Thanks, tight line and have fun. 👍🏼

    I bet your new boat looked like a murder scene after those ladyfish. They bleed like crazy. LOL! I try to never let them in the kayak or boat unless I am keeping them for bait, and then I try to take them from the water right to the cooler. LOL! Great reviews on this toy and I am looking at getting one. Thanks!!

      You know you are correct lol. Next time I need to bring some Kotex and put them on the skiff floor lol. They are great for bait and for action if you have young ones with you. I definitely recommend it. Good luck and thanks for the view and comment. 👍🏼

    Big C, forgot to tell you on the phone, this time of year, fish the outflow of the plant. It's not nearly as good as Anclotes plant, but I've got some fish there. Go south too, and fish Christmas pass. Oh, and Merry Christmas!!!

      Thanks brother. Yes sir, warm water flows out of the plant in cold day is great. It will attract lots of fish for sure. Thanks man and Merry Christmas and a Happy 2022.

      Thanks my friend. I was looking at the Solo, but they stop making them! And used ones are price insanely. This is the closes to it. But cheaper, ligther and comes with some accesroies included. Good luck on your search. If you want one like this one! Talked to Nelson at Nirvana Watersports down in South Florida. He will hook you up.

    Is there any way you can give me the measurement from the bottom of the hull to the top of the motor in the upright/tilted fwd position. I have a Nissan prox4 with a camper shell. I want to see if I can fit the boat in the bed without removing the motor.
    BTW awesome improvements on your boat. Thanks Tom

      Tom, sadly I sold my Striker Skiff since I purchased a 20’ center console for the family. I made the decision to purchase another soon,, but at this time! I don’t have the way to measured. Sorry my friend and good luck with your project.

    Check out the jetski kayak I built in my channel. What do you think about a skiff with the peddle drive system as well with the motor in back?

    • @spanglishangler
      @spanglishangler  Před 2 lety

      That's awesome my friend. Nice yakSki. I would think the peddle is not necessary for my style of fishing. I like to stand up easily to cast and I don't like to have nothing under my feet or something in the middle to tangle my lines. I think the paddle drive would cause that to me. I have many problems already as is lol. Thanks for the recommendation and the comment.

    would love to know how you feel about it after a year, I am in Tampa as well so we would be fishing the same water, if you can let me know I am looking at that or the hoodoo but haven't pulled the trigger

    • @spanglishangler
      @spanglishangler  Před 2 lety

      Sorry for the delay responding. But I love the Striker Skiff a lot. Sadly, I sold the Skiff few months back since I purchased a new boat and did not have time for both (also wife told me I had one to many toys lol). I am already working on getting another soon because I really do miss it a lot. Is way to different than the boat. Two different styles of fishing for sure. The Striker would be my choice, since Nirvana Watersports really took care of my business.

    Would it possible to add a spotlock trolling motor to this?

    • @spanglishangler
      @spanglishangler  Před 2 lety +1

      Hello Dalton. Most definitely. I was thinking to installed one but I ended up preferring leaving the front empty and clear of anything. At least that’s what is best for the style of fishing that I do. But plenty space to install a Spotlock with some ingenuity since the front is not flat and you will need to add a hatch for access.

      make sure you gonna add at least a .063 aluminum ga. back plate before installing your seat. The plastic hacth is not strong enough to hold that seat...is weak. i did that to my HERO 130 skiff

  • @brittlinton8764

    So how is the stability compared to the outlaw 11.5

    • @spanglishangler
      @spanglishangler  Před 2 lety +1

      To be honest is not a fair comparison. The Outlaw is only 35” wide while the Striker Skiff is 39.5”. I know is only 4.5” of difference, but also the 1.5’ extra length of the Striker makes it a lot more stable than the Outlaw. But the Outlaw is not that far out to be honest. And the price! You can’t beat it. But I can definitely stand much easier and better on the flat deck of the Striker Skiff. That was more impressive in my opinion than the stability comparison.

      @spanglishangler  Před 2 lety

      @@frankperez5037 to be honest I think you can transport two people in it with ease. But fishing from it it would be definitely a challenge in my opinion. With a 550lb loading capacity! this thing can hold a lot of weight.

      Hello Barclay Sauls. You are 1/3 correct lol. In one of my previous videos, I talked about this. The Striker Skiff by Nirvana Watersports, The Hero 130 by Hoodoo and the MK13 by Brooklyn kayak are the same vessel,, just different names. The 3 importers mentioned (Nirvana, Hoodoo and Brooklyn) get this Skiff from ZERO Kayak in China. I went with Nirvana Watersports because of the following. 1) They are local in Florida (I am in Tampa Bay). 2) Excellent customer service. 3) In stock and ready to ship. 4) Nelson the owner is not only selling them, he is also a user and know his stuff if you need to ask him questions. Let me know if you need more information and thanks for the comment and for watching. Tight lines
