Our tag line for the Gremlins is: “It’s about the fun!” We are so impressed with how much fun everyone has been having flying, crashing, racing and building Gremlins. They are a blast! The Gremlin concept is something that we are going to be investing in for a long time, so here are some quick updates:
The delrin frames are excellent and we haven't had any break and only minimal customers breaking them. If they happen to break we cover the replacement so shoot a picture, story and address to our email and we will replace it. With that said, carbon fiber isn't needed but if you want a lighter, nearly indestructible gremlin frame this is it. Plus, they're beautiful!
If you have a dream of seeing your designed frame in carbon don't forget to share your design with us! We’d also like to put 3D print designs on the product page for others to download.

Upcoming and New Components
The Gremlin staple is the Emax power pack, which provides a great flight experience for all skill levels. In the future we will be offering a more customizable Gremlin experience. Not only will you be able to choose your frame but also a selection of electronics. The baby red-bottoms are coming! They are still in the very early stages of production we will be getting them as soon as they are available. the tiny bullet ESC's allow us to change up a build to allow up to 4s.
The stock props are optimized for the current motor but we are also testing some HQ prop alternatives to carry on the store. As soon as we are happy with them, we will add them!
Not only will you be able to choose different motors and ESC's, but we will also be testing some 20x20 mounting flight controllers/stacks from various manufacturers.

I just got my Gremlin that you guys built me on Monday. Jen was super helpful! I can't wait for it to stop raining so I can take it out to fly.
I think you should put Velcro on the planes wings and booms and then Velcro on the bottom of the Gremlins and see how many you can stick to the Sea Duck

Why not throw on a runcam Split onto one of those Gremlins? Are the PCB mounts not 30.5mm?

I love all your Flite Test designs, and the Sea Duck is a truly amazing airframe. I would like to say, however, that it would be amazing to see an FT Ugly Stik, like what was around in the '60s. Another good episode would be to do what HK did with their Skymule (of course just "testing") and put twin EDFs on your Guinea pig. I want to try it, but cannot afford a good fan. Keep up the great work!

Vlad Midan Not quite. Enlarge the plans by 200% and now you have score cuts that are 200% wider but with foam board still 3/16in thick. You also have heavier wings which would need a stronger spar. Josh even mentioned that the wings started drooping. It’d be a big project for sure.

I'm scratch building one right now (also a Spear) and I'd love to see a reinforced large scale version... maybe a working cargo door? Cargo drop? OOOH! Drop Rebecca and Kit from altitude into a lake, and Baloo, Louie, and Wildcat can all head back to Cape Suzette for margaritas.

Do you guys have a way to protect the antenna on the camera? I break mine a lot!
Aidan Farley You can try to build a ziptie 'hoop' around it or you can use a dipole/whip antenna which will not break, you will have a bit worse video range though
If you're using a clover, you could try a zip-tie over the top. Good shock absorber at these sizes. Pull through at the bottom of quad and snip the remainder.
When I broke mine i switched to a modified dipole.
I did that but then the entire board that sticks out where you solder the antenna onto broke off. Very sad.
Would REALLY like to see a 'giantized' Sea Duck kit, but even more so, would LOVE to see the Mighty Mini Catalina from the forums brought out as a kit & even more so with a doubled up sized version (100/114"wing span)...
THAT would almost make it worth the HUGE cost of mailing FT foam-board all the way to Oz!
(Now theres another idea- an Aussie supplier of FT foam-board packs... *wistful sigh*)

Micro brushless is such a fun format. I've got a 2" built but I really need to tune it and start flying it more.

I so think you should fly the Sea Duck, and make a bunch of small aircrafts like the pirate fighters. I am sure they would be a pain to fly without some liberties with the design, but that is what I was thinking as you guys were flying the gremlins after it. heck, it might be easier to use a quad helicopter and build a shell around it to look like the pirate fighters

Im a rc crawler truck guy so i only have 1 small cheap plane. But im definitly getting that gremlin after my kids get their trucks this fall.
The 12A emax ESCs are way nicer than the 6A. They are shorter in length, and only a little wider, which makes them fit one hte frames nicer. Also they are rated 2-4S so no worry about burning up the ESC. Also want to say thanks to FT for replacing the delran frame I busted, fast reply to my email saying I broke it and a few days later it was in my mailbox...and with some FT stickers too! Thanks FT!
Can you guys do more flite test videos like making stuff and testing it like the helicarrier
I would like to see a VTOL Sea Duck. Swivel the motors up and add motors mid-boom that's always facing up which turns off in forward flight.
Can you make a video regarding the DJI snail racing series and maybe incorporate it in the gremlin.
Have you guys thought about making 'XL' models of certain planes or 'to order' kits. I'm sure yall would have a good challenge and fun designing those. I can think of a couple models I'd buy. SEA DUCK and Mustang off the top of my head

If you *do* release a Sea Duck kit in the future, would it be possible to make interchangable wing size packs to fit four (side by side or opposed as on certain Dornier seaplanes) or even six engines?

The video feed from the 480p FPV camera is better than the 1080p keychain camera, lol.
Install Velcro on a patch of the big plane roof. Then Velcro on bottom of the quad. Then land in the air.
I wasn't gonna get a gremlin because I was afraid the wind would sweep it away, but after seeing this i am definitely getting one

Hey guys i have been watching your videos for quite some time but i have always been more about the airplane aspect instead of the drones but because of your new little quads (gremlins) i would like to build one. I have realized that the FPV footage shown in most of your older videos is footage from the camera on your drone and not what you actually see when flying through the goggles (i think) so i was wondering if there was a way for the footage that comes out of my goggles to look more crisp and with less static. (side note) I have not purchased any FPV equipment at all and don't know anything about it

YES YES YES!!! Please do build videos for ridiculously big planes. Stupid big planes. This is what I want to do, build bigger and bigger until I need to buy a trailer to haul them in. I have a Sea Duck but what I really want is a Sea Albatross. You should totally scale up the Sea Duck and sell it as the Sea Albatross!

My soldering skills aren't good enough to solder a Gremlin myself, so I'd probably opt for the FT guys to build it, but I really wish you had options for a Frsky receiver... Any suggestions on one to go with this?
You should make a cargo hatch on the sea duck and have a challenge by seeing who can fly a gremlin into it

Flite test, what is the best 100$ drone with a camera. I'm going on a trip with a beautiful view and I'd like to get a drone before.
Paint sticks and vinyl tape = no sag... N it would prob last way longer than the owner would have interests in it.. or build around a carbon fiber rod or three mechanically fastened to each other with a brave and a couple of m5 bolts
