We need an engine for "Bishop the Bronco" our 1988 Ford Bronco. We have to decided to pull the 302 out of the 1983 Ford Thunderbird. Pulling the engine should be simple and yet the RevStoration crew can make it more fun and exciting than ever. Can we pull it out with no problems? Will it be entertaining to watch the shade tree engine removal? Will it finally be time to comment on our crazy methods? All these questions answered on this episode of RevStoration.

I miss the days of working with my dad and him telling me what to do those were some wonderful days
Amen... I love it too... Wouldn't want it any other way..
Yeah but we never seem to realize it till their gone. I miss my dad every day now.
Me too I miss my dad a lot. I miss talking to my dad. He went to be with Jesus. He was a good mechanic until he got to be too old to see.
I agree with others on this post. I miss my Dad as well. I grew up helping him work on all types of vehicles. I learned many life lessons from him during his lifetime; as well al how to work on cars. May all of our Dads rest in the glory of our Lord.
You're getting oil all over the driveway take that POS to the junk yard!.. don't miss those days!
Glad to see “the old man” wasn’t hurt! Good Lord watching out that day!
I remember laying in a gravel driveway with two floor jacks and the temperature below zero and pulling a transmission out of a ‘71 Mach 1. I was a young man about 20 years old and remember being very tired and VERY cold! The moral of that story is that NOT at ANY point in time did I wish I had a Chevy! 😂
I agree... 100% of the time..
I'd give everything I've got to have my dad back. You're one lucky fella, Dave. 👌
I agree... Thanks for watching..
Rev great video pulling the motor, god was watching over your dad when the motor fell
No doubt... I am grateful that he listened to me one time... Glad he did not walk beside it.. Thanks for watching..
WHOA!!!!
That could have been nasty bad!!!
Hey Rev's dad, I'm SO GLAD YOU WEREN'T IN THE PATH OF THAT ENGINE!!!!!
Goooooodness!!!!
Amen, I am grateful too... We knew the danger and that is why we reminded one another to stay out of the way..
@@RevStoration I declare, my heart almost flew out of me.....
Rev. Your all so right . Safety first. That was a awkward way to pull that engine. Glad the Ole man did not get injured. But that was a good demonstration on what could go wrong. Can’t wait to see you get this in shape . For the Bronco.
Thanks Terry... More to come..
Hey everybody! Close call with the cherry picker tipping to the side. Thanks be to God no one got hurt. Scared the heck out of me sir. Otherwise everything looks great. Take care Rev and family. Big Al.
Happy Thanksgiving!
It happened too quick for it to scare us... I am glad we reminded each other of the possibility of that happening... Grateful everyone is well... Happy Thanksgiving Big Al.
@@RevStoration Happy Thanksgiving to a very nice family! Thank you.
Glad you guys got it out without getting hurt. Keep up the good work.
Amen... us too.. Thanks
I'm glad you show all the things you do on the vehicles that way no one can can say you took a short cut, I'm so glad the Ole Man didn't get Hurt. Dueces.
Thanks Robert... God Bless.
I can tell you and your dad love one another very much and are best of friends. The friendly jokes and names you and your dad share are such a blessing to me because I had the same great relationship with my dad. We used to repair and tinker with everything together on our old farm joiking and having fun the whole time. It never seemed like work. You call yours the ole man and I called my dad ''Popsie'' haha The lord called him to heaven 4 years ago and I still miss him dearly but I am doing the best to live my life fully until I'm reuinited with him one day. He's still with me in heart and spirit! God bless both of you, thanks for the great content!
I am truly grateful that I still have my Ole Man around. I truly love him and am pleased we can work on his rigs together..
I’m glad your dad didn’t get hurt thank the Lord y’all are ok. Happy Thanksgiving have a Blessed One Sir
Thanks Eddie... Happy Thanksgiving to you as well..
Glad no one was hurt. New to you = pre-loved
Preloved for sure.. Thanks for watching..
I'm glad nobody got hurt when that motor dropped keep up the great work may God bless
Thanks 👍
Nicky T had us in stitches with that fish joke.
So Fish tacated - She loves the dad jokes too..
Great video. I've pulled a few engines in the woods back in the day.! Reminded me of the days when we would cut 3 small trees, bind them together with a chain to form a tripod and pull the engine and a come-a-long.
Mickey, we have the get it done attitude here too... Sometimes, it is sketchy but if it works, is it wrong... Thanks for watching..
It's hard to keep an engine stand from falling over when its jacked up so high and moving it on uneven ground! I'm really happy no one got hurt! It was really fun watching you two figure this engine pull out though! It's not as fun for me working on semi trucks after all these years. Wish it was for fun and not a living now a days!
It came down but no one got hurt... thankful for that.
Awesome video as always Rev. Can’t wait to see that 302 in the Bronco. So nice to see y’all. Cheers from Jerome in California.
Me too..
Engine removal, dad jokes, and a song!!
You know those sweet tunes that I sing when in trouble..
Good Seeing You, Your Father & The Family, Pulling That 302 From That Old Thunderbird For That Bronco.. Keep Up The Good Work Rev, Be Blessed..
Thanks Charles..
I am really glad the old man was not hurt.
Me too Brother
Thank the lord the old man didn't get hurt..we used to build that year thunderbird at the atlanta plant..brought back some memories...they did pile on a lot of junk on these engines made them hard to work on..wish i could have been there to help out..make sure the freeze plugs are good or change them ..check front and rear crank seals as well..have fun..lol..see you on the next one..Cheers friends 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏
Thanks Rodney
Hello From Mark In Ky. Those cherry pickers will tip over on concrete in a nanosecond let alone being on soft dirt - I’m glad that your father escaped being injured.
Before I retired last year, I worked several years in a state government equipment repair facility and have seen and experienced many interesting situations and had my share of close calls.
We used forklifts with a large piece of steel channel slid over one of the forks with a chain and hook mounted at the very end of the channel for pulling engines and we used to loop old fan belts around the pretty large hydraulic lift cylinders that we used to remove for repair for the single axle and tandem axle dump trucks. For even larger items, We utilized a front end loader with either forks or a boom. Our repair facility serviced equipment for twelve counties.
Rev, I wanted to wish all of your family a very blessed Thanksgiving. PS. I think NikkiT has her heart set on Ford Blue and won’t take no for an answer. Instead of the next video being dropping the 302 in the Bronco; It may be the proper way to paint a engine Ford Blue - Just Saying Rev (LOL).
Thanks for watching Mark.. I appreciate your comment. God Bless.
Safety is real important. Glad your dad was out of the way. Real channel
Me too..
Rev enjoy this time with the Ole Man getting dirty and getting things done. My Daddy went home to be with the Lord in 1999. And those memories are among my most precious. My Dad taught me everything I know about Cars saving me thousands over my lifetime. I miss him so. I know you Love the Ole Man. So Let him learn ya even if he already has, :) God Bless you both.
Charles.. Mine has taught me a bunch too.. Thanks for watching..
Hi Rev, & Ol’ man ! Greetings from Scotland. Great job, and glad the Ol’ man wasn’t in line when the motor & cherry picker tipped over. I too used to work on cars with my Ol’ man back in the day. The difference when working in Scotland ( no garage ) is of course the weather. Many times we’ve been lying on the road with the rain bouncing off the road, and the water running past your shoulder as you try to remove or attach something. 😂
My Ol’ man is now 90, ( with a dodgy ticker 🫀 ) and these days are gone, but the memories are still strong.
Enjoy these times….take care.
I could only imagine how difficult that would be.. memories is still an awesome thing I am sure..
Great job glad no one was hurt in your mishap
Amen...
Now my 86 t bird wants a 302 thank you so much love to you and yours from michigan.
Thanks Fritz... It was a bugger bear to get out... The Bronco will be easier..
very good video love content like this the bronco series is really exciting!!!
More to come! Hopefully, it is going to be in the engine on the next one..
Good job! I'm glad no one was hurt! I really enjoy your videos, you have a beautiful family. It was a nice touch to include Moose!
Thanks Raymond..
You may already know this but I had experience putting engine in my pickup. Love these old fords
Not fun..
Nice I like the video I'm glad the old man did not get hurt
William, I agree... I am grateful that he did not walk beside it but behind it..
Love the dad jokes
The corny one are the best in my book.. well all of them.
Love watching you guys getting the engine out you are both doing a great job
Thanks Sheldon..
Nice to se daddy with the t shirt in this time.Makes him look younger. God bless yu daddy and the whole family Always.
He usually only wears that at the beach.
Hi Rev. Another great video. I hope that people learn from seeing the cherry picker tipping over. I'm so glad that the Ole Man was not hurt. Remember that you can never be too careful. As always I thoroughly enjoyed watching. Cheers Chris.
Amen, we talked the dangers over and I think it helped.. Thanks for watching..
Hey Rev are they putting that motor in the Ford bronco that's going to be a nice sweet ride
Yep... we will drop it in the Bronco on the next video... God Bless.
Yes I remember it always took a long time to take off the fan shroud, fan and then the radiator. If you haven't done it before it is definitely a pain. I have the same 3 ton Harbor freight cherry picker and I used it for picking up a 750 Lb Transmitter my brother was buying. Used it to load it in his truck. You were lucky your dad side stepped that cherry picker falling and you are right you always have to be alert to the unexpected.
Im pleased he stayed out of the way of the falling engine as well.. God Bless and Happy Thanksgiving..
One bolt at a time gets the job done. Looks like we could have a Thanksgiving STUFFING a 302 video.
Yep... Hopefully, this weekend..
God bless you and the old man and your backs REV
Hard work... never hurt any body...
Hay Nikki-T You're 1 Step Closer Thanks Friends, Hap-E Thanksgiving ! ATB T God Bless
Thanks for watching, Terry...
Thanks for sharing another enjoyable video Rev!
Thanks Mike
Yeah, you're jokes got me smiling..
Yes I'm subscribed..
Thanks for watching and smiling..
Good to show the good and the bad. Heard a story from a work mate about a boy who watched his father die under a car when the car dropped and pinned his chest under the front disc brake took 10mins for him to die while the boy tried to lift the car off his father. End of the story workmate told me he was the boy in the story. Put amtear in my eye that's for sure. Always have a backup to Jack's and jack stands.
My heart sink every time that I see the engine fall.. I know that the Ole Man knows what to watch out for... Glad that He did not walk to that side.. I think it will show the dangers of the pulling an engine..
Good one! Plus had the Moose bonus at the end
Thanks Jeff..
Cool you all had a 302 that is nice.
Pulling it out..
@Rev.Storation I so glad your dad didn't get hit by the motor
Rev. Why did the Turkey cross the road????? ............. To show he wasn't chicken 😆 😂 had to throw that joke in... but as always awesome video Brother keep them coming P.S you can use this joke 😉 🤣
Haha... Love it.. I may use that one around the table on thursday.. Happy Thanksgiving..
@@RevStoration Happy Thanksgiving to you and the family
So glad the Ole man was able to get put of the way. I'm sure you already know the lord work in mysterious ways God bless and Happy Thanksgiving to you all
Absolutely
Great to see you. Have a Happy Thanksgiving. God's blessings to all.😊
Happy Thanksgiving, Andrew..
You guys had me a little nervous for a little while. Easy to break something or cut it off. Glad it all worked out. Happy Thanksgiving. Love you.
Im nervous most of the time too... Thanks for watching..
Go with GOD SPEED DAD AND REV HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU ALL
Happy Thanksgiving to you as well..
You better strap it down in that Chevy. Your boat anchor will fly out the back..LMAO....LOL...HAHA
Haha... It may go a little faster with it there.
I'm glad your dad didn't get hurt pulling that motor. That was too close for comfort.
Me too..
Good job! You could have cut the engine pulling part out but I think we need to know what NOT to do too! 😁. Can’t wait for the next one!
Yep... We show it all.. The good bad and ugly... The falling engine was ugly for sure... Thanks for watching, Nancy..
Greetings from a small town in Australia. I have just Discovered your channel and I love it . I even love your jokes, good luck and god bless your family, Mark
Mark... we are honored that you watch. God Bless.
Glad no one was hurt!
me too...
That vid brings back memories , ive dumped a few engines in the dirt back in the day .
Lesson learned until the next time I do it...
Thanks you and your family for the great content
Thanks Roger.. God Bless.
I love watch your channel rev and may God bless you guy's
Thanks Nathan, we are honored..
That was a great sound in your Voice as if you were scared the Chevrolet might not pull it that’s a valid reason to be scared lol you know I’m digging you guys
Haha.. We use what we had... it happened to have been a chevy
Happy Holliday's ! God bless
Same to you
Good nobody got hurt happy thanksgiving to you and your family
Amen, It could have been worse.. We knew to stay out of the way... Glad we did.
You're lucky God has a sense of humor and let you get away with that one
Yep... I agree.
One more step forward. Hoping you and the family have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Same to you! Happy Thanksgiving..
What a crazy lookin' oil pan
Two drain holes..
On that engine stand put some grease where it rotates and get a much bigger bar so you can spin it over if need be.That little bar won't do nothing.
I have come to figure that out for sure.. We have not started working on the engine yet, but we are going to need to do all of those things... Thanks for watching..
Thank God the old man was out of the way, sometimes those old 302s are difficult to get with all that unnecessary junk on them till next time God bless
I agree.. Thanks for watching Deek
Hands down the best CZcams channel, brings back a ton of memories. On our farm we had an oak tree limb and chain hoist that was our cherry picker for generations going back to my great grandpa , many a 289, 302 , 360 & 390s hung on that limb not to mention many deer were butchered from the same tree limb.
Keep it up! Absolutely love watching you and your dad having fun!
Wow! Thank you very much. We enjoy making the content and sharing it with people like you. God Bless and Happy Thanksgiving!
Lucky old man !!!!
Blessed for sure.
im a old dodge lover but love the bronco too special the 78 an 79 but any bronco is cool
Me too.. Those years are awesome... Honored to own this one..
Hey Rev,Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. But while I am here, you know I was going to cook up some alligator until I realized I only had a croc pot.🤣🤣🤣 Can't wait for part 3. Glad your dad was safe. I have tipped over a cherry picker myself.
Haha.. Love it.. I may use that one.. Thanks for watching and Happy Thanksgiving..
Hi my friends. Good luck to you all. And God bless you all to.
God Bless
Great video Rev!! 💪
Glad you liked it!
Brother I hope you charis working with the Ole Man. I lost my daddy when I was 19 and still miss him at 64. GOD Bless y'all and have a Happy Thanksgiving.
I most certainly do... Thanks for watching Mike..
That's one way of doing it 😉 good job boys
It worked... eventually..
You to work very good togather God bless both of you have fun and enjoy love watching you all work on vickels
Your Dad and mine are exactly the same. I used to get so mad him. Because he was wrong more than right. I know my engines
When I went Bible College and Seminary he was so angry at me he told me "the water is cut off from now on you're on your own." HECK, I HAD ALREADY BEEN TO NAM. DID A 3 YEAR STINT! I DIDNT NEED HIS MONEY! I had my own life an a job to do for Jesus. We hadn't worked together in years. However, he's gone and I miss him so much. God Bless you guys!
We bicker like Brothers, but I love him and respect him as my father.. Thanks for watching friend.
I am glad that you dad is okay.
Me too..
Got to love those fords...LOL...HAHA..I will be surprised if the motor even works in the Bronco. fords were noted for nothing being interchangeable...LOL..HAHA..At least you 2 are Comical to watch...LOL.HAHA...Great video though
It will work.. Same engine... Watch the next one and we shall see..
Another great video Rev and Ole Man. I bet that 302 was embarrassed having to ride in the bed of a Chevy! Happy Thanksgiving from Australia and just keep on doing what you do.
It had to be... Thanks for watching..
Great day bro
Thanks Chris..
love you all too mates
Thanks Brett.
Hope y'all have a Happy Thanksgiving. Love the videos Brother
Thanks, Happy Thanksgiving! You too!
You sure went the long way around the barn on that one ! A hot wrench and sawsall is all that’s needed , bing bang boom its out ! Paint don’t make the engine run better just do a lite overhaul, nothing major just gaskets oil pump clean heads and new head bolts ! I know your on a budget but an ounce of prevention goes a long ways oh and a new water pump wouldn’t hurt ! Believe me I’ve been there and sure as shootin the water pump goes out and you know how much work it takes to replace it once the engine is installed ! Hop it up a bit , have fun !
We are going to get it going and hopefully it will hang around a while for NikkiT..
@@RevStoration so basically it’s a get the Bronco going situation ! Got it ! I’m just saying cover thy butt and be safe not sorry !
@@RevStoration I guess I see your point in that you have 10,000 people telling you what to do and you already have a plan of action !
david going threw like told in the last video go threw it with fine tooth comb and replace stuff i told you and also do a front pump seal in the tranny and rear main seal on the motor i forgot them .thanks
- nick
We will get it all going... Thanks for watching..
I can relate to "The Ole Man" thinking it needed metric as my parents had a 84 Cutlass and working on it drove my dad nuts. You needed standard and metric wrenches to work on it and had to use both simultaneously.
They had some of both I think..
@@RevStoration I bet as it was very common during the time.
I once pulled my engine out of a truck and no way to move it from backyard 2 acres back to the garage so I hooked the engine lift to a chain then to the car and dragged it 2 acres digging trenches with tires to get it into the barn to put it into my old truck I got specifically for that motor well long story short had to replace the wheels on the engine lift 🤣🤣
Haha... That should have been video taped..
the(old Man) LAYS ON GROUND-wrenches; plans the moves or suggests best thoughts ;hard to find better help!!!!He must be appreciated!
Don't forget those 302s with the serpentine belt has a reverse water pump Make sure you're running the belt the right way
I got it right...
That made me quinch when that engine fell I'm glad the ol man is ok
I am grateful that I did not see it..
@@RevStoration ikr
You will have to check . The water pump may turn the opposite direction on the bronco .I believe you will have the oil sump and pan off the bronco
I am going to use a Bronco pump and the oil pan and pick up off the Bronco engine..
Rev I know it takes a while to get stuff pulled off then its going to take a while to pull the motor out as well but u guys did a good job
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family
Thanks Charles... Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours as well..
An engine hoist is a machine to test the tinsel strength of anything holding what you are trying to remove.
It worked but came down too quick..
God bless you Rev. Wow what a scary situation. Thank God nobody was injured. When is your next video with nutcase?
Me too..
we want the motor ford blue..good job there o'le rev..i would recommend putting a timing chain and gears in it
We are going to take a look at all of that..
New front and rear seal for the transmission while you got it this far apart might not need them today but this is called preventive maintenance
I am not going to be using the transmission, but it is good to have one when needed..
Your dad is funny as hek
In real life, he is funner... Maybe he will come out of his shell on camera... Thanks for watching..
Hay rev one day I'd love to come hang out with you and the old man and go to church with y'all then take the Granada home with me lol
Welcome anytime... God's house is always open.
@@RevStoration tell where to come and I'll be there
I took a 351w out from my 85 Bronco with this same method. Luckily your dad didn't get hurt.
Amen... glad he was not in the way... scary but blessed.
80s 302s had a lot of brackets.
Lot of extra stuff that is not needed for the Bronco..
