- Episode #778 Today, we're making a custom bow stand for my Cousin Chace. He's a bow hunter and shoots in his back yard all the time. Now he won't have to put his bow on the ground to retrieve his arrows. We made this from redwood lumber and customized it just for him.
Cut List:
1 4x4 post - 60"
2 2x4 - 20"
2 2x4 - 14"

Love the angle grinder detail! Great job!
Thanks Richard!
Outstanding attention to detail as usual. Like the idea of building a project other than a sign occasionally. I build projects as well as craving signs. Don't comment much but always watch your great videos.
Thanks Jim! We're trying to expand our knowledge base a little bit HAHA
You all keep raising the bar. I love it.
Thanks Brian! We're trying to make bigger and better project. We have a BIG one in the works...
I'd like to see more projects like this.
That's the plan, buddy!👍👍
That is an awesome looking stand!!! I'm sure it will be the envy of everyone who sees it. No doubt you'll be getting orders for more of them from your cousin's friends!
Thanks Lori!
EZ E your the man...🤘🤘🤘
Nice job by both of you. 🏹🏹
Thanks Dan!
Great product. It could use some wheels for easy mobility. & side cup holders for your buddy that is shooting with you 😊
That's a great idea!
Quite the project. It looks great and functional. I like it. Great job!
Thanks, Bill!
Nice job, very cool build.
Thanks Don!
Another great video! As a part time woodworker and competitive archer, I love this idea! Now I wish I had a better place to shoot so I could make one for myself lol
Thanks Jesse! So here's a question...as a competitive archer, how was my form?
@@oldave100 form looked pretty good, only critique i'd have is on your grip. I notice you snapping your bow hand closed pretty quick, which can definitely cause torque, which will change your impact left and right. Me personally, I touch the front with my index finger to "hold" the bow and close my other fingers inside between my palm and the bow. Keeps me from snatching the bow when i release.
Right on! I'll work on that. Thanks Jesse👍👍
Love anything with cedar. Cool project and nice carve. Need to get me those 2 inch letters and figure out how to use them. This project hit the mark! 😳
😂😂 Thanks Lou!
Awesome build, I like all the way the edging was done.
THanks, buddy!
Hey Ryan….you’re a man of many talents. Archery now!! Whatever next. 😊
HAHA well...my next thing I want to get into is long range shooting. But that'll be a while...its pretty expensive to get started
That's pretty dang cool!! Great work!
Thanks Greg!
Nice job guys love it
Thanks Scott!
Great video guys! That's a cool idea!
Thanks, buddy! It was fun to make
👍👍👍Thank you
Thanks Pete!
Nice build!! I have no doubt you will be making more of them.
Thanks Frank!
Very cool i. Will likely make one for a crossbow shooting buddy he shoots seated so mine will be shorter but it is really cool thanks Ryan
My pleasure, buddy! Glad you liked it
I’m new at this so definitely need some help. Making one for my son but don’t know where to find clips to hold 4x4 to stand. Also, you were right about carving on 4x4, it did present a challenge and is definitely not my best work. Thanks for video on this project.
No problem, buddy! It was a lot of fun to make. The pins we used to hold the post to the stand were actually hitch pins for a truck, but you can use regular dowels or anything like that. Shoot us a picture when it's done!
Love it ❤
Thanks Ade!
Ryan/Eric, would be nice to list the cut list and maybe a few measurements…..Thnx
Great idea! I'll put it in the comments.
That was way cool 😎
THanks Guy!
Nice
Thanks Robert!
You need to have hooks for range finder or binoculars.
Good idea!
I have to admit I really like this when I'm really. Watching it on my TV show that I can see the detail a little better. I wonder? If. You? Would have to do something different if you were carving something with a curve or a radius in it like a baseball bat or gun stock
The biggest thing to remember when carving on a radius is clamp your work down so it doesn't move on you. I really need to do this again on film. Check out videos #272 & #273.
A great bow holder, just one thing I didn't like, the beer holder, I used to teach archery and can not condone alcohol with weapons. Also, on your technique, I noticed you were using a sling, yet you grabbed the bow, let it loose in your hand.
Great video, as always.
Can't disagree with that. Thanks Mark! My form definitely isn't the best, but I'm working on it 👍👍
It does not have to be a beer holder, think of another beverage.
👍🏻
Thanks Mark!
Can you give a link to the magnetic strip?
This should work amzn.to/48QAOTY
What did you use for the new arrow cup?
Nothing, we just carved a circle in the top about 3/4" deep
