Enjoyable video. I loved making it because Edge is one of my all time favorites. It was unbelievable to see him return at Royal Rumble 2020 whereas back in 2011, we thought there was no chance in hell of a comeback. Regardless had it been the end for him back then, It was still an incredible career. What did you think of Edge's title run?
One of my favourite wrestlers of all time loved him as a heel and on 11th of April 2011 i was balling my eyes out and crying the day he announced his retirement
Combine Stone Cold's 1st and 2nd title reign in one video, no point of doing just one reign since he only lost the title to Kane for 24 hours.

I remember going to a house show a couple of weeks before Mania. The belt looked incredible. I didn't know Edge would be there, so I had made a Christian sign. Edge was autographing stuff and he saw my sign and chuckled and joked with me saying "wow man, you're really gonna have me sign a CHRISTIAN poster? Just playing, hope you enjoy the show." That's still the only show I went to, and he made it so memorable for me.
I remember when Edge retired all my friends and I put him as our profile pic on Facebook for a whole week as a tribute. That's how much he meant to us.

I hated Edge growing up, but I was saddened when he retired a decade ago and was really happy to see him return to the ring last year.
I remember being so sad when he retired. I thought he'd be gone for good after that, but when he made that Royal Rumble return in 2020 I jumped out of my seat in happiness. I couldn't believe he was actually cleared

I was there at Elimination Chamber 2011 I'm glad I witnessed Edge as World Heavyweight Champion on a live PPV in my lifetime!
I met edge during covid last year, and had a conversation with him and from what I could tell that guy loved his job and was ecstatic to be back wrestling I'm telling you I told him he was my hero and I can tell it met a lot to him.
To answer your question of “was Del Rio the best choice?” Hindsight no (obviously) but also, CM PUNK WAS RIGHT THERE! Have Punk win, face Edge in the show opener, loose, go to Raw and then do the whole Summer Of Punk story but this time you can also add the little element of “I won the Royal Rumble, I should have MAIN EVENTED WrestleMaina not opened it” which perfectly fits the story with Vince and Cena especially if they used that element in the contract negotiations segment.
I was at the March 4, 2011 Smackdown and after the show Edge and Christian did the old poses from back to the old tag team days, it’s on CZcams.
Edge deserves last title run again,something he never lost.
17:48 Actually, Edge and Christian briefly teamed up in 2004 & 2005 when they were Heels who had common rivals. However, they were not pushed as a tag team at that point of time.
It was the last time I was watching WWE before I stopped watching. I cried 😥🤧 when he announced his retirement.

I wish u mentioned the mixed tag team match with Laycool and Dolph vs kelly kelly and Edge. It was a main event match that involves mostly the women. Kelly kelly helped defend the world heavyweight championship. The first and only woman in wwe history.
To me, this title reign was something of an important time and not because the fact edge had to retire was something of a stepping stone for other talent but was sad because he was gone. Other talent were coming on the rise like Randy Orton, Mark Henry, Daniel Bryan, etc. this helped give momentum for others. Edge sort of help make the rest of 2011 for Smackdown. And maybe some of WWE itself. You can maybe tell me I’m wrong and maybe I’ll see if I’m wrong myself.

I have a ton of fond memories of Edge’s title run here. The Vickie/DZ/Edge stuff especially. I still come back to the set of matches with Dolph and Edge. Just fun times.

Unlike most Edge actually respected both world titles the WWE Championship and World Championship.
He was probably the last World Heavyweight Champion that was treated like a main eventer at that point. It seemed to always play second fiddle to the WWE title at that point unless Cena or Orton had it. Christian too I guess but his first reign was forgettable and felt like a shaft to him and the second one was a heel reign.
even knowing he is well and back wrestling, his retirement speech on raw still makes me shed a tear.

The Brood: He debut as a member of The Brood along with Christian & Gangrel, the stable itself was meant to be a heel group but they was simply too cool to boo them, they were also meant to meant to be a main event group but it was far too obvious that they were a mid-card group, even when they turned heel and join the Ministry Of Darkness, it was far too obvious that the audience didn't want too boo them, which leads to the next era.
Edge & Christian: Following Gangrel leaving the federation, Edge & Christian went on to be a regular tag team & they work here was superb, while they were meant to be heels, they were so likable in this role that they quietly turned babyface.
White-Mean Babyface: Following Christian turning heel, Edge would maintain the same babyface character he had during his partnership with Christian, while it was fine for a little while, it got stale very quickly as the happy babyface trope was dated in the 2000s.
Top Heel Of Raw: With Triple H slowly faced out of the main event ranks, Edge quickly took that throne, he would turn heel at the 2004 Taboo Tuesday PPV and his motivation was that he wanted to be world champion, while a personality of this nature would have worked in the Rock 'N' Wrestling Era of The New Generation era, it's like it would worked in the Ruthless Aggression era but surprisingly Edge made it work & it's likely due to his intensity, charisma and supervillain acting. This is also where Edge debut the Rated R Superstar gimmick and Metalingus which are his trademarks and most famous for in his career.
The Face Of Smackdown!: When Mr. Kennedy got injured, WWE decided to give Edge the MITB briefcase and cash-in on the Undertaker to become the World Heavyweight Champion, this is definitely peek Edge were he reign supreme on Friday Nights as the face of the brand, some could argue that this where Edge become Triple H 2.0 but honestly he's Triple H done right as he was the final boss of the brand but not to the point where he's outright unstoppable, this period also contains the La Familia angle, which is often considered as a Smackdown! version of Evolution, while this angle was a success it did kinda overshadowed Smackdown!'s product especially in the Summer of 2008, the angle in ended in 2009 where Edge divorced Vickie because she was longer in power (no surprise), Edge continued to be the final boss of Smackdown! for the rest of 2009, he also formed a short lived tag team Chris Jericho and the two would even win the Unified Tag Titles until he got injured at the end of the year.
Spear!, Spear!, Spear!: When Edge was cleared to compete, they wanted him to be a babyface for the first time in 6 years, it was certainly a baffling move, while Edge turning babyface was certainly welcome from a character standpoint, he was so good at playing a heel that the audience wasn't gonna take seriously as a babyface, WWE was insisting on making this babyface run work by giving him a white-mean babyface chant of: Spear!, Spear!, Spear!, this chant is truly cheesy and it didn't clicked with the audience even for a PG audience but when Edge got drafted to Raw, they clearly realized that Edge wasn't in this babyafce role and they turned him tweener that same night.
Back On Raw: When Edge went back to Raw, he turned tweener after officials realized that Edge's babyface run that year wasn't working, to it make it even more baffling, Edge was demoted as a mid-carder with little nothing to do on the show, he would then embark on a comedy feud with The Anonymous Raw General Manager which was a feud that was clearly beneath him, Edge's only world title shot he got that year on Raw was at Night Of Champion in a match that he lost, not too long after that match Edge turned back into a babyface and head back to Smackdown!.
The Finale: Edge would reclaim his role as the face of Smackdown! but instead of being the final boss of the show, he was instead was a regular top babyface, this final run was surprisingly better than his initial run as a babyface and his tweener run on Raw as the material he was given was certainly better than what he was given on Raw, Edge's final match in his run with WWE was against Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania 27 a match where he won, a suitable ending for one of the best in the WWE.
Had edge not got that neck injury he for sure probably would’ve been 16x world champion

Edge is awesome , played the bad guy roll so well with Matt Hardy and Lita story line , he was and is one of the best and I'm so glad he healed up and made another run after having his neck broken , he made a match with undertaker a great match instead of another wrestler going after the streak , and is always going to be one of my favorite wrestlers if not one of the best of all time , he loves the business and wasn't just a wrestler but also a huge fan of the industry , and edge and Christin had so many great ladder match's that completely redefined what was possible in that very specific match type.
