In my humble opinion Scofield’s genius is right up there with Bird, Trane, McCoy, Wes, Hendrix, Miles and others who have changed and shaped the music we have been so blessed to listen to.

I agree. He's always been a quick study...and fresh out of Miles' band- this song has a "Silent Way" feel. Sure, he plays great himself, makes the records of others shine when he's a sideman...but it's the scope of his compositions that's staggering and what makes him much more than a great guitar player. You could make an entire Real Book for guitar out of just his tunes.

I freakin love this track....first Album I bought of his...I bought the same guitar Ibanez Artist, a year later played Ronnie Scotts with my band..then saw him play the same club 5 years later..front row..it was a gig I will never forget. He is great composer and the most expressive player I know...may he live for a 1000 years.

First learned of Dennis Chambers in the 90s...saw him w/Mclaughlin. Powerful musician. "Still Warm'' was the first Sco I ever heard. It was on some late night jazz show off a college radio station. Bought it on vinyl first chance I got! Still my top /sco composition, right up there with "Don't Shoot the Messenger".

I was there at the concert and what an afternoon in Copenhagen. I recorded it afterwards from the radio on a really lousy cassettetape, which I still have, heavily worn after 30 years listening and magnetic decay. But this is so much better sounding - so thanks for the edition. The concert just succeeds in every way and is the best I ever heard from Scofield and band. Every single note is important and couldn't have been done differently. They are talkin' !

My favorite Sco period 1977--87..those early records with Mraz, Swallow and Anthony Jackson are stellar..then comes Still Warm with Darryl Jones as the Darryl I dig (the Stones Darryl got boring but certainly rich), Blue Matter, Loud Jazz and Pick Hits Live....also Electric Outlet as it was the seed of those 4 albums..Gary Grainger and Chambers are to this day one of the best rhythm sections ever ! Great times the 80's were...
