  • All countries have national myths: stories about origins; specialness of 'our' country; heroic ancestors; unjust victimhood - or some mixture of all of these. Sometimes these are 'myths' in the sense of pure fabrication; more often, they are mythic re-tellings, and attribution of patriotic meaning, to actual events - usually with quite a few embellishments thrown in for good measure. But what happens if a crucial - even foundational - element of one nation's myth is the same set of (embellished) events as those of another nation? Which of them was the thief? Or the johnny-come-lately? (Or, perhaps, not even a 'real' country - whatever that might mean?!)
You've guessed it: We're talking about Ukraine and Russia.

Seemd more like Russian and Ukrainian episode. Not much about Polish developements there. It will be hard to explain modern history of both nations without explaining how second side developed and how it saw region
