Latinos are always shocked that they have a little bit of African ancestry. I don't see why though....newsflash Africa is diverse filled with every hair texture, skin tone, and facial features.
I have a theory that the Latino look around the Mediterranean is a mixture of Phoenicians' blood with that of Semites and Ionians.
black mamba civilisation started Africa so bound to find some African in every body
Errol Collins truth!!! I just love the diversity of everyone on this planet. Mother Earth man!!!!
+black mamba oh and also, depending if you believe in evolution, then it's a fact we all started in Africa.
black mamba They shouldn't be. it is what it is.
I Love when your mom says Africa and she smiles...Awesome!!!
Why?
DetroitScorpio 313 same lol
lilmrscutsie not neccisarily. The white in my family is but when we got a lot of Native American in us we traced it back ourself, but it only that, seems like you need to do some research
Que comentario tan estúpido!...
eglc100 who's is ?
Us Mexicans got it bad lol our elders did not care about recorded documentation. I’m just finding out that some of my ancestors would change their surname because they had a fall out with their parents.
I’ve thought of this before! I have been trying for a long time to build a family tree but I’ve been unsuccessful..
Europeans gave the indigenous people their surnames when converted to Christian or owned slaves, so it's not accurate to trace back anyway....
more slaves where sold and dropped off in the west indies, Caribbean and South America. Only about 6 percent of African slaves were sent directly to North America. it's just that America had breeding farm as they called them they forced and beat the strongest slaves man and woman to have sex so they maid more babies
@@ectorvalle4059 exactly, some ignorant people even get the “family’s crest” escudo Español, haha really funny.

Wow! Saron sampaio, your DNA,
Is very interesting.
Hahaha
What's the rest just curious
You’re not black.. there’s white redneck people with more African than you..
thank you for sharing your results, your African percentage is pretty normal for Mexicans as Mexico tended to absorb blacks via mixing, since it was one of the largest ports for slavery (Veracruz )etc, but if you look at Puerto Ricans and Dominicans they tend to have larger percentages of African than Mexicans but the Native American is pretty high in most Mexicans like you said , congrats again

Didn't Mexico have a black president???
Hello!! your brother mentioned that your grandfather spoke Otomi and wanted to know a little more about that. There is a place in Mexico in the state of Queretato a town called Puerto Blanco. Everyone there speaks Otomi. Most people don't even speak castellano very well. The women there actually still dress with their native clothing. I know this because I was there in 2005. it is a very cold place, it looks like dessert and people there eat tons and tons of nopales. they are cooked all kinds of delicious ways. I hope this helps a little. 😊
Yiyi Live Queretaro*
Yiyi Live you beat me to it yup you're so right. I used to live in Queretaro I love the way these ppl live.
Tlaxcaltecas spoke Otomí, the aztec's enemy, these guys are not descendants from aztecs, it is really sad that they are so ignorants from their own culture.
Nopales?
Luis Valdez Cactus, I believe
We are all mixed....so no one should be racist !!!

Yep sure!
A lot of people are not mixed

We are all one big family. When's dinner?
Sounds like a plan! 😉
❤️ Yeah, I love that. Maybe we need to establish a week long international family reunion celebration because we’re all one big family.
I’m Mexican too and just got my results. 39%iberian 31%indigineous 11%middle eastern %5 Irish and the remaining 14% being Scandinavian , Jewish, Eastern European, southeast African , Polynesian and central Asian. It’s so cool to see where your ancestors come from.
Exactly! It's great to also know that you can connect with people on a microscopic level :)
I'm thinking that middle eastern might have been from Spain conquered by the moors
The Polynesian are the same group the Hawaii, Mongolia Siberia and China the came the America’s through a land that connect Alaska. They are our natives. Look the people is Asia and you can see the similarities. Google and the strait between Alaska and Mongolia. I am 74 and I know history when I was a child.
South east African is a very rare result as that was not a region of Africa that saw slaving. It means that you most likely did not pick up that ancestor through trans Atlantic slavery. with the combination of middle eastern You may be descended from an actual black Moor. As the south east of Africa was on the Arab slave routes. Your ancestors conquered Spain
You’re a real Heinz 57!
we are all brothers, I'm just your light skinned - red haired brother in Texas!!

We're all not just 1 nationality just because of our skin color. We're all connected yet we fight so much about racism??
I always think, out of all the planets out there were he lucky one to have been able to develop life but we waste it by fighting with each other. Lol one day!
We no, we fight about economics. The elite white power structure perpetuates racism and then we, the masses confuse it with our own common needs and called it racism.
Alot teaching and UN teaching to be done!
Morrocco is not Arabic, it's North West African.
No Morocco is originally indigenous to Carthage and Berber Nomadic peoples, and Mauratania(from 800bc.) They were invaded and colonized by the Moors/Arabic (hence their name Moracco) from the 8th-11th century. It goes back and forth between the Berber and Islamic Dynasties till the European Colonization (France /Spain) in 1830 which explains the lingo franco being french in a mostly islamic country.
Arabic refers to someone from Arabia... people confuse the religion of Islam for a nationality

Spain wasnt inhabited for just some point by North Africans, they were ruled by north african moors for 700 years lol... I wish you guys translated your mother's comments.
Mother is saying that her grandfather always said hid family came from Europe entering Mx through Veracruz and that would explain why some family members are blond and some with color eyes. Earlier she mentions her grandmother would say they were from s native Mx tribe called the Otomi and that even one of her grandparents spoke the Otomi language.
+Tomorrow Today before the Islamic invasion, Spain was not part of Morocco.
+Gonzalo Saldana thanks for translating that.
Tyline Burgess so true!!!✨✨yes my last name is Moore I always wanted to do this test, my family is Native Am, German, Panama, but the African side idk...
Actually it was 800years and The Moors were Senegalese and North African... basically black african muslims that ruled Spain and Portugal (because they used to be the same country)
If you *google the word 'Blackamoor'* (which was the European name for a Moorish person ...which literally meant *'Black as a Moor'* you'll see how the Moors really looked)
There has been an attempt hide and whiten this history by European Historians because of the existence of Racism white supremacist patriarchy.
Duh, guys Spain was ruled by the moors and in some way or another we all come from the first dark skinned people in Africa.
Well ancient humans looked more like standing apes (we had hair everywhere) but yes we all come from there if what science says is true.
One of southern Mexico's greatest hero was a African named gaspar yanga .

Soooo.... you didn't know about the slave trade in Mexico and the 2nd president of Mexico was of African descent and freed the slaves? BooYah! Great heritage, Mijo
Jiji Solomon The second president WAS NOT AFRICAN ! He was Mestizo and predominantly Native American. You are regurgitating Afrocentric hogwash! He was accused of Indionismo, fighting for the Native American, and was executed for it! No need for revisionist history!
The Legacy of Vicente Guerrero, Mexico's First Black Indian President published Dec 18, 2001, the late by Theodore G. Vincent
"Guerrero was born inTixtla, a town 100 kilometers inland from the port of Acapulco, in the Sierra Madre del Sur; his parents were María de Guadalupe Saldaña, of African descent and Pedro Guerrero, a Mestizo. Guerrero was tall and robust, and dark complected, and he was at times called El Negro."
You can also read La Población Negra de México by the late anthropologist and professor at the University of Vera Cruz in Mexico. BTW, I did not say he was African. Here is my quote, "the 2nd president of Mexico was of African descent". So, if you are using Mestizo as racially mixed, then, you are correct, "he was Mestizo and predominantly Native American" Being of African descent means that he also was descended from Africans as well as Europeans and Native Americans. We have people like this here in the United States. They are called Melungeon. President Abraham Lincoln was Melungeon. Somehow you saw the word "African" and took the word out of context. I don't even disagree with you. I just reiterate my stance.
vutube379 wats a mestizo?
Mrz. Star B A Mestizo is a person who is half European and half Native American by Mexico's caste system definition which would have still been used during Guerrero's lifetime; hence, if he was considered black by his apoearance and ancestry, he would have been desribed differentl and no where is he referred to as anything else but Mestizo.

Otomi are not aztec or even related, they are an ethnic group from central mexico. Very ancient culture, lots of history.
Well latinos are a mix of all races. Some more then others essentially latinos are a cultural group. So from country to country the results can vary a whole lot. There are still afro mexicans to this day in Mexico so its really not suprising.

true they always claiming their ancestor came from spain bwahahahaha when they obviously look very native
Methamor actually we never claim our Spanish ancestors
Methamor My grandmother was a black Honduran. I've never really known her. but her side of the family would never claim their rapists. anyone who does, hates themselves and their native side.
The reason for the North African ancestry is the Spanish ancestry. Centuries ago Moors from North Africa conquered Spain and had significant impact on shaping Spanish culture - especially the Spanish language which has many Arabic and Arabic derived words, like "el" which comes from the Arabic "Al". So the North African ancestry basically hitched a ride through the Spanish ancestry because many or most Spaniards have some North African ancestry due to the Moors conquering them for some time before Spain came to the New World.
And Mexicans have west African ancestry because the spanish imported millions of slaves into Mexico, during the slave trade. Most of them men
@Vincent, Ash I think a good amount of people just don't know history , culture/ people well!!!

Life began in AFRICAN...
.
Absolutely
Yep! Cradle of civilization :)
Facts
i think some people are confused about the African in some people’s DNA. While we know that all people came from Africa, DNA tests don’t go back that far. So when people get pleasantly surprised at those 1-5%s or more it means that it’s a closer relative, maybe 2-3 hundred years from this date. (Might be less or more)
Some DNA tests are able to trace a gene to a common ancestor from a very long time ago. And this is still far away from the time when we were all in Africa. I believe it’s called Hap gene or something.
:)
Africa didn’t exist when life began on earth.
I guess people dont know that DNA started in the "Region of Africa/ Mediterranean".
Kathleen Gaines No. Actually it originated in the region currently known as Namibia.

Otomi is a tribe from mesoamerica native to the area known as el Bajio, or the central plateau in Mexixo. it includes the areas of Quereraro and Guanajuato. They were mostly nomads at the time of the nahua (aztec), and considered Wildings by the aztecs who never really conquered them. The aztecs called them and other nomad trubes, chichimecas.

Everybody should have African in their blood because Africa is the birthplace for all mankind
Exactly its no surprise but he overreacts. We all have African blood. Even if you have no african traits you still have between 1 and 5% african. Even Asians have african blood.
valente Reyna: I don't want to contradict myself but I want to make clear that Everybody SHOULD have African blood.
I saw an Asian young lady's DNA video the other day and she got only two hits or whatever you call it. They were Chinese and Native American.
It baffled me because I would think that she would have an ounce of African in her blood somewhere but according to her, she only has Chinese and Native American.
The Native American comes from the Mongolian stock who were the ancestors of the Natives who came over into the new land crossing the Bering Straight some 13,000 to 23,000 years ago. So its understandable that she got the Native DNA through her Mongolian ancestors. However, she didn't read off any African results in her DNA which surprises me.
I am going to continue to look at different ethnic groups to see if the African DNA shows up in their results. Of the few white folks that I have looked at, they showed African DNA and everyone else that I looked at did too. However, I've only seen a tiny few different DNA videos from people who are non black. I happen to be black myself.
This is not true, Valente. My mom did the test and didn't even have one percent. African didn't register on her test. Whereas, I have 17% because of my dad. So, I think the way that some individuals tried to breed out my people, they did the same with their own peoples.
jesusneverexisted300 so so true
@Mimi: If you don't mind me asking. What do you mean when you say, " So, I think the way that some individuals tried to breed out my people, they did the same with their own peoples."? I am very curious giving that your mom doesn't have any African blood.

Please read" They Came Before Columbus" by Ivan Van Sertima. People keep referring to slaves in the comments, as if that was the only way that Africans came to Central and South America...
Tammie F. Taylor
Teach?
Sertima's research isn't taken seriously by anthropologists. He's essentially an Afrocentrist who claims that all the major cultures around the world were founded by Black Africans despite the lack of any credible evidence.
Californio - That's what they all say about Black scholars, even when they are not marxists. They said the same things about J.A. Rodgers back in the 1920's in the USA. But of course in Europe (excluding England and colonies) and the rest of the world he received several high honors for his work, which is all the more relevant today, because a lot of his proof was destroyed or replaced by Nazi SS racial investigative groups set up by Himmler. Anthropology origins are rooted in bias, always has had links to Eugenics, the USA inspired the Nazi "racial hygiene" movement, in fact. Invoking Anthropology is far from making an impartial argument. It's like comparing a sporting fencing match to an dark alley fight with broken bottles and brass knuckles...
It is, Van Sertima was mistaken. No proof of African presence before Columbus.
Hank West - Afrocentrists and Eurocentrists are two sides of the same coin-- both are trying to to diminish and take credit for the achievements of other people in order to serve their own agendas. There are some people who would even rather credit extraterrestrials for the achievements of mesoamericans before crediting the actual Indigenous people responsible for them.
I love when ppl find out they’re a little African! Lol

@@stephanieduncan91430
Imagine my surprise I had ruddy skin red hair and lots of freckles lol.
I am learning so mich about old trade routes, and how cultures blended. It's fascinating. 😍
Yes very cool. Thanks for watching!
Each person within a family have different percentages of ethnicities and can also have percentages of other ethnicities that other family memebers might not have at all. It just means you got more DNA from one side of the family or the other.
Love it!!! I'm African American and my indicators were 85% African, 12% European and 3% Asian. My African indicators showed 50.4% Nigerian :) 23% West African, and 7% Kenyan. Like you guys, my European indicators showed that I'm 5% Scandinavian and 5% Iberian. There was also 2% from the Balts. I had no idea about my Asian heritage. Interestingly I'm of Uzbekistan and Nepali descent. I'm very pleased with my results but I'm mostly pleased with finally knowing of my African heritage. Just goes to show that we're all connected in some way. Thanks for sharing your heritage. :)
Thanks for watching!
Actually the lower the percentage is where your true roots start. The largest percentage is just what your DNA has been mixed with with recently.
Tina King FACTS
Pretty sure a genealogist explained that small percentages means you had one distant relative with that DNA. Which makes sense since many Mexicans don't have African DNA, especially natives. Still I do like how mixed Latinos are, and Americans for that matter.
Thanks for sharing! 😍
Thanks for watching!
Why is it that the African part is always the shock??? Just curious...
Virgina Andre it’s probably because being Mexican we’re never really taught about the African presence in Mexico. It’s sadly just pretended as if it doesn’t exist. and as far as many Mexicans know, they have zero African ancestry even a lot of do.
A lot of Mexicans have features that hint towards possibly being Afro-Latinx but a lot of them refuse to make that connection as there is a lot of pride for being Mexican and also even a lot of racism towards other races. So finding out you’re African as a person who’s always been content with just being Mexican can always be a bit of a shock.
Most Mexicans have straight hair and a tannish complexion but my mother has 3C curly hair and a lot of her family have very very dark akin, but even so, she refuses to believe she might have African lineage.
@@karlazafra2201 Its funny how Mexicans claim brown pride and rag on White folks when Mexican abandoned their native Aztec/Mexitec language, religion and culture for the White European language of Spanish, Mexicans call themselves Latino even though Latin people are white europeans(French,Portuguise,Romanian,Italian(Real Latins) and spanish etc).
Mexicans make fun of Asians even though 40% of Mexicans have Asian eyes, and half of Mexico has native DNA aka Asian DNA.....lmao
karla zafra a. That’s is not how genetics work. The people of Papua New Guinea look African but they haven’t been in Africa for the last 50k years
476 Anno Domini Genetics work based on dominant and recessive traits being carried down through generations. Just because they haven’t been in a place for a while, doesn’t mean they can’t carry those traits. People with Japanese heritage in Mexico make up 2% of the population (maybe even 6% now), and even so, a grand majority of people in Mexico have those familiar and distinctive Asian features like fine straight hair, mono-lids and much more. Mexico is a melting pot itself, and though many of the different ethnicities that make up the population in Mexico haven’t recently been present, they can still be VISIBLY present in the faces of the people of today - thanks to genetics.
The Moores inhabited Spain for centries. The trace of African and Iberian Pennensula could have entered then.
True
***** Actually they did. And unlike other Spanish colonies they allowed miscegenation. Brazil is a Portuguese colony. They got their slaves from the Portuguese Slave colonies of Angola and Mozambique. Dominican Republic only has more Black people because they were invaded by Haiti. Pick up a history book sometime.
Carlyle Tom
not true. lmao.
Carlyle Tom and they descovered america 300before columbus and before mansi moussa
and turkish and asia
that mean moors mixt with nativa america
and columbus other moors helped his he stupide. no know read maps
Salma alomari actually that is false.
look the jefas face when he said they are part african
Its so embarrassing how people make a big deal about being from Africa when that is a place people should almost feel guaranteed to be from. This is why I have no trust in the educational system
I find it odd that they can pinpoint European countries or regions, but when it comes to "native american" ancestry, they lump north America, South America and Central America all together. Surely there has to be some markers that indicate Aztec, Mayan or the numerous indigenous people of South America.
I think it’s probably more mixed and integrated. The reason why I say this is because of how diverse the continent is. (Languages spoken, features, etc.) however they have updated their data and gives some specifics about some American regions. Unfortunately I don’t think they’ll be able to give details about tribes.
See when the mark india the mark it as south asian... India itself has many races....
They may have significantly less contributions from those areas which prevents them from getting more accurate results. It'll likely also be very hard to be confident that the contributions they do get represent anything "pure" (you'd have to trace your ancestry back to be certain which isn't likely to happen in those areas).
Not odd at all, it just proves that all native Americans were nomadic from an original group (originally East Asian).
@@djpoolservice Maybe some were nomadic, but no more than the Europeans. The Aztecs looked very different from the Mayans. The Alaskan Tribes did not migrate to South America on a regular basis. I think they just have not done much research into the indigenous people of the Americas.
The Moors of North Africa conquered the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal). No surprise there. South African (very wide range) is probably Angolan, because Angola was a Portuguese colony and hit hard by the trans-Atlantic slave trade. Many were brought to the Caribbean, Mexico, and Central America.
Derrick Adams Indeed.
Derrick Adams the moors never made it into Basque Country! That’s why we are white.
I'm Mexican with African roots as well! I am from Veracruz... I took the 23andme test though!
@chuy chuy, but thats because of the slave trade so don;t get all excited.
this is black people's roots
czcams.com/video/vkZXY3dYzE0/video.html
Aguila Que Cae You're so stupid. Africans used to sail and travel to all corners of the world just to trade. This was even before the European slave trade. So yes, she has every reason to be proud of her roots.
I can see your African roots.
Chuy Chuy You must believe anything anyone tells you too.
RU4REAL the white man loves you. Lol.
When you mentioned Africa and the expression on your mom face was priceless.
Great video! Ancestry has since updated everyone's results. I'm curious to know what they are today?
Hey! Yes i have been planning on filming it. But i haven’t had the time! Lol
Why are people so surprised that they have a small amount of African ancestry there were black slaves brung to Mexico. And there are still Afro Mexicans in Mexico today
Exactly
@@tantig5923 please anyone who learned about Christopher Columbus knows.
The whole black people were brought to the Americas has been debunked, if you search up Olmec colossal heads, which were a civilization that lived around Mexico. You can see they have “Black” facial features.Which doesn’t add up if you look at it from The whole Christopher Columbus theory. I’m just trying to encourage people to do there own research of our human species instead of agreeing to what social media and the His-Story books want you to believe...Love & Peace
True. But Mexico still has least amount of Afro DNA compared to All the other Latin nations. Like Cubs Puerto Rico, DR, Colombia etc.
@@voton.w.b.8584 You are So dumb. 7 million slaves here brought to Latin America. Mexico having the least Afro DNA, DR having the most. Not to mention the African migration after that. 1/4 of Latinos are mostly black. 130+ million. You are so ignorant.
My wife is from Ecuador. She did the AncestryDNA test and is 61% Native American, 12% Iberian Peninsula, 7% Sub-Saharan Africa, 5% Basque, 4% France, and the rest include Ireland, England, Sardinian, Italian…
Los europeos estamos todos muy mezclados... los genes irlandeses, franceses, italianos o alemanes de tu mujer proceden de sus antepasados españoles, al igual que los genes vascos son igualmente españoles.
3rd cousin means one of your grandparents and one of their grandparents were brother(s)/sister(s).
What part of Mexico 🇲🇽 are you from? My dad and his family speak “otomi” as well. Need to do this test! By the way we are from Hidalgo Mx.
Basically. Your grand grandfather was an Arabian Andalusian who was either deported or had to flee Spain Andalusia after it returned into the Spanish rule. Then he married a Native American woman. Their kids married Natives too till most of your DNA became Native but you still carry some of your concurring Arabian ancestors genes in you.
That's what I was going to explain to them. They seemed kind of confused about the "African" heritage. Well said.
That's one theory Einstein
The natives bred them out, they are conquered no more
Ba A then why are they mostly Iberian? The Andalusians who spoke mozoarabic were actually Berber and Castilian. And Andalusians didn’t get kicked out of Spain unless they were Muslim or Jewish and you can obviously see these guys aren’t either
Being part African isnt a bad thing. People shame their ancestors with the sheer disgusts. Africa is a very beautiful continent and have some of the nicest people I have met.
I agree
Very interesting, thank you for sharing
look at my aunt!! i need to take a trip to see you guys! nice video btw!
Aztec was the name of just one tribe out of many who shared the same language and religion. After the Aztecs established dominance over the others, the population of the empire were called "Mexica". Besides, there were many other ethnicities that still exist today, zapotecos, mixtecos, purépecha, mayas, etc. So, it's really inaccurate to say you descend from the Aztecs.
