- Disney/Lucasfilm is a disaster, and Kathleen Kennedy has failed again. Yet another beloved character will be sacrificed on the altar of the agenda. It was only a matter of time until they got around to Indiana Jones.

Kathleen is great. Thanks to her, I saved lots of money over the years by not going to theaters to watch Disney movies.
*LMAO!*
haha - truly
Lmao awesome comment! Totally agree.
Same her.
Yes indeed.
Disney: Let’s take jabs at capitalism.
Also Disney: So how many millions did we make in profits last quarter?
You gotta chase that ESG.
Phoney and incoherent politics is the norm for the left. Guarantee if you ask the writer who wrote that to define capitalism they couldn't do it.
It really is wince inducing they keep making cracks at Capitalism since that's literally how the Indie movies and Disney make a living. Taking shots at Communism and Nazisim in the previous movies was fun because both are broken systems, Capitalism is flawed but still works.
Also Disney: "Let's take jabs."
Capitalism making profit of it's own critique is nothing new. After all, as one classic have said: "Capitalists would sell as a rope, which we will use to hang them".
Kathleen Kennedy is making miracles with her vision; my nephew who is paralized from the waist down stood up and walked over cut off the TV while we were watching Solo
Miracles do happen!
Yes, I can thank her f9r making me richer and Disney poorer too! 😂😂😂
😂😂
For years, I've dreamed about witnessing the destruction of Disney. I'm dismayed about the innocent victims they're determined to take down with them.
I wouldn't call them all innocent victims. The film industry is imploding together for what they've placed before families for generations.

Kennedy is not making mistakes, she is willingly destroying Indiana Jones and Star Wars
as per voices in her head doling out feminist dictums, she must... obey... her... masters....
Darth Kennedy must have alot blackmail on the Top people at Disney...She must know where the dead kids are buried?
I think she hates the people who like these movies. And, she might have some anger issues when it comes to men.
True. Intelligent people learn from their mistakes and do not repeat them. The fact that she continues to do these things with each new film, proves that it's intentional. Makes me glad that I no longer spend my patriarchal capitalist earnings on this weak, woke, woeful drivel, that isn't fit to be viewed by a comatose garden slug.
Could care less at this point. So done with Star Wars I don't recognize it.
The irony of this woman, whose family are literal Aristocrats who own European trading companies complaining about Capitalism is pathetic.
White supremacy guilt. She has been taught in her fancy, wancy schools that her family is evil and she is now giving back. Stupid Stupid woman.
Blue bloods have always hated capitalism. Those with wealth benefit from stifling competition (i.e. free markets). They've also always hated people who fight power against long odds, so it makes sense they want to slaughter all the IP that promotes that.
Of course you are against capitalism when you have a monopoly 😂
Yeah the irony is strong
She was reading a script
This is what they do. If you don't like a bad movie, they call you a toxic fan, etc, etc.
I find that very few movies made over the last 10 years are worth watching. Thanks Hollywood, you have saved me a fortune.
We said exactly the same thing, it has become too formulaic, and most film scores are soul destroying (marvel I am looking at you), just noise, no emotion.
Let me know what those few are, because I have not seen anything worth watching in 20 years.
Nothing Hollywood produces (tv or movies) now is worth watching! Too busy pushing liberal agenda & not worried about quality.
Agreed, you can name countless movies from the pre 2000 era but struggle to even name 3 or 4 from the last 20 tears that you could recommend. Django Unchained stands out for me.
If you didn't see the films, how did you know they weren't any good? If you did see the films, how did you save any money? Just asking...
The last Indy movie ended when Indy, his father, Marcos Brody, and Sallah rode off into the sunset after Last Crusade. Perfect ending to the franchise
Seriously, so many try to act like KotCS is great now that Indy 5 looks awful, like c'mon, there's only the Indiana Jones trilogy.
@@tylere.8436 Eh. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was NOT a good movie. It wasn't even a decent one. But it was fun enough to me, even though I accept that I like a bad movie.
I’m surprised people are saying Indy 4 is good. That movie was garbage and I’m a huge Indy fan. I watched a video about how Steven Spielberg and the OG Indy script writers kept telling Lucas for years that crystal skull is an awful idea and doesn’t belong in Indy’s universe but he was so stubborn about wanting aliens in Indy that they finally caved and did it lol.
And let's not forget the Young Indiana Jones series where we can see what created our favorite archaeologist

The reality of Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis not allowing the production of a Back to the Future Part IV is sadly looking all the more sane with every passing year.
Oh yeah…I absolutely loved Willow as a kid!! Some of my most enjoyable memories of my late father were staying up late with him and my best friend playing the video game on Nintendo!!I’m smiling right now thinking of me and my buddy yelling “Brownies!” simultaneously at a moment where we were trapped in the game and didn’t know what to do, and then the Brownies popped outta nowhere to help us escape. I remember it like it was yesterday when it was over 30 yrs ago…yet I didn’t even care to watch one second of Willow on Disney plus. That’s how far my respect for Disney’s ability to tell an entertaining story!!
Between Marvel, my lifetime favorite fandom, and Star Wars, something I enjoyed with my late mother, and other stuff like Willow, I should be easy to get to open my wallet…but I’m no glutton for punishment!!
I should be enjoying this stuff and introducing it to my son as well as my 10 nieces and nephews…but I don’t care at all anymore!! Now, what I look forward to and hope to be alive for is the day that these properties are no longer controlled by Disney!!
This is the biggest failure in the history of entertainment!! There will probably be a highly profitable movie one day made about how this failure destroyed what should have been the 2 most profitable and enjoyable franchises in modern history!! Any competent people would have a license to print money for 50 years with Marvel and Star Wars!! But these morons inexplicably destroyed it all!! These are the biggest losers in the history of Hollywood!!
The ability of Bob Iger to overpay for IP, and the ability of Kathleen Kennedy to subsequently destroy its value, is truly mind-boggling.
As is the fact that KK was not fired after her failures.
I know right

Disney should just hire Bud Lights, Alisa Heidersheid to do some creative marketing! Between her and Kennedy, Disney’s long protracted suicide can be completed in about a week!
he actually didn't overpay. If they had just churned out half-decent Star Wars movies every 12 months, it'd be easy billion $.
A big shout out to Harrison Ford for not only creating but also destroying two of the most iconic characters in film history.
I hope the money was worth it.
Harrison Ford getting bread off the top of these projects is one of the sad saving graces of these Disney projects.

@@phandaal they will try to make the classics illegal for reasons and put that crap up.
He’s made it pretty clear he doesn’t give a single fuck.
You are right, he should shoulder some of the blame. He has enough FO money to do so, but like he said about Greedo he doesn’t care.
I straight up told my brother when this movie was announced that this'll make Kingdom of The Krystal Skull look like a masterpiece. Well, low and behold, lmao.
I don't understand. How can they do the same stuff that ruins all their stuff, and then be surprised when it comes out suckful?
I don't want to remember Indiana Jones as a broken old man. I want to remember him as a heroic legend riding off into the sunset with his friends.
I agree. I’d rather see the movie being made (a few years from now.) with Indy handing his whip to someone just as adventurous as he is. And _not_ Waller-Bridge. I’d rather see him in a respectable way with humility. And defiantly not they treated the character of Indy and Ford. The film was written just to make Fleabag feel better about her misandrist ass.
I definitely agree with you, I’d rather remember this franchise in a positive way.
Then don't watch this shit. Stop at Last Crusade. Leave all the garbage where it belongs - out of sight, out of mind.
I agree, and feel the same way about every male lead they’ve done this to.
It's a shame they couldn't channel a little Clint Eastwood magic--he did old-man movies with style (Gran Torino, Trouble with the Curve, The Mule, and even Million Dollar Baby and Space Cowboys). His characters were old but not spineless cowards.
I remember a tv episode with an old Indy telling a story to a kid in a museum about one of his adventures and at the end the old Indy slides down the museum staircase. That was a great tribute to Indy
Kathleen Kennedy must have the Ultimate Job Security to not be fired for screwing everything up with Disney's IPs.
I'm thinking she has some good dirt on the people who would otherwise fire her.

At this point it is hard to believe that this is not intentional; The culture of our nation, it's institutions, it's heroes, are systematically being usurped and corrupted from within, in order to undermine and crumble the very foundations on which they stand. I must say - your review here is about 1000x more enjoyable than any of the movies you mention here. Well done my friend. Well done. Subd.
To be fair, I don’t think you need either Lucas or Spielberg to be connected an Indy movie, *so long as you respect the legacy*. Many franchises have used multiple directors, writers and even actors with perfectly acceptable and even great results. But that respect is essential. If you think you can just use it as substrate for ambition, activism and exploitation, you will produce something miserable.
Disney ruining every classic franchise they touch has to be intentional. Definitely a symptom of the mind virus.
It's about subverting and destroying the target host's culture. It's like Marxism 101. Calling it a "mind virus" is very fitting as they cannot create, only subvert.

..I... would argue it's social MEDIA engineering. I don't think anyone in the big industry cares about your precious dick and balls and loses sleep over putting them down. After all, if you REALLY look at holywood, a huge majority of people in charge are still rocking white cock&balls. I think we need to look where the MONEY is. And the money, today, is in the CLICKS, people. CLICKS, not tickets. Producing good movies creates WAAAY less clicks than producing controversial flops. And controversial flops still sell tickets because hey, people have to SEE what they're commenting about, right? Imagine if they created a really good OG looking Little Mermaid movie? Little girls and their moms would go see it, there would be some couple million good reviews, it'd get streamed and... that's that. ...but then they cast a black boobette and there's been clicking for 6 months before the premiere :)

3 Indy films, 1 Matrix, 2 Terminator, 1 Jurassic Park, 2 Alien. It's almost impressive how often sequels made just for money turn out to be forgettable crap.
It’s so sad. Indy 5 should be a Top Gun Maverick level hit, attracting dads with their kids, older fans with a new generation, a return to form for practical effects in movies.

Speaking of Disney, weren't they the ones who bragged about their ability to do a horror movie? The movie I refer to is, of course, "Arbor Day", in which an ordinary tree somehow comes to life and embarks upon a very, very, very, very, very, very, very slow killing spree.
The ability of modern Disney to ruin everything they touch is a tragic meme atp. The classics, Indiana Jones, Star Wars and Marvel (if they don't fix it). What more proof do they need that focusing on identity politics BS over a good story and characters does NOT work?

If I had to write an Indiana Jones 5, it would’ve started with a now old Indy being nearly killed and losing an eye after trying to retrieve an artifact. While managing to retrieve it, he is in a very poor state and is hospitalized.
Recovering in the hospital, Marion begs with Indy to retire as she does not want to lose her husband just like they lost their son Mutt in Vietnam. Indy is not willing to let go of his adventurous spirit.
Short Round, who is now an archaeologist after being inspired by Indy, checks up with him after hearing of his mission and the two have a pleasant reunion. He tells Indy that he has been searching for the lost temple of Nurhachi. (The remains from the opening of Temple of Doom)
Indy and Short Round go on one final adventure together, beating whatever bad guys they stumble upon along the way, Indy then finally decides to retire and lives with Marion. Giving Short Round his whip as a symbolic passing of the torch (No way he’d give him his hat though)
It's honestly tragic that a random youtube user can whip up a more compelling and interesting premise for an Indiana Jones movie than a conference room full of supposed professional writers.

I'm actually quite disappointed in Harrison. I understand him letting Disney destroy Han Solo, because he's made his distaste for that character quite clear. But he supposedly loves Indiana Jones, so I don't understand why he would not make absolutely sure that this character is treated with respect. You can't tell me Harrison Ford doesn't have enough clout in Hollywood that he could've thrown his weight around with the script and story and made sure it honored the character. But it's quite obvious that Harrison is ignorant to it all, and is just cashing paychecks, nothing more
i agree w/ him using his influence to get a good script made. possibly he simply increased his salary Disney wasting his time w/ such a shitty script. $$$$ talks. How many famous actors turn down good money/more time in the spotlight even when its shitty for the 'legacy' or whatever. Actors dont give a fuck about that shit.
I read the synopsis for DoD and Indy got Han Soloed. I am even surprised that nobody at LF stood up during a reunion and said: "Huh, Han Solo's fate and Indy's fate are quite similar, and the fans hated what happened to Han Solo, shouldn't we change the script?"
Nope, no change.
I don’t think he has that clout anymore. He peaked in the 80’s and most of the 90’s. One of his recent roles is opposite a CGI dog FFS. My guess is that one of his final roles with be a barely seen art house flick which will garner him the Hollywood equivalent of the retiree’s gold watch: a best supporting actor Oscar.
You have to remember, most actors are incredibly vain narcissists. They don't really care about the quality of the writing, just that it's good enough to get them recognition.
Rumour has it that he signed on when Spielberg was slated to direct, and couldn't get out of the contract when Spielberg dropped out. If true, I can get it: I don't think Spielberg would have done this nonsense.
Any theater showing this film is automatically renamed *Temple Of Doom* !
You can get a sense of a movies ability to attract you to see more just from just the trailer , how ever the trailers for the last few Star Wars movies and other Disney disasters have served more a warning to stay away .

Sort of agree, but she’s survived 10 years so someone shares and supports her “vision”
Maybe Disney's competition does! 😄
Not at all. Her boss clearly totally agrees with her, and I hear that she's replaced every employee at Lucasfilm with either fellow cult members or those who are willing to pretend that they are. It's very charitable for the disney shareholders to burn their money on her gender agendas and dreams
If you think about it, KK is the ultimate disney princess
Wait a minute,if the critics hate it that means it must be really good.
I'm gonna be perfectly honest: Kathleen Kennedy and Disney have NOT split fan bases. I straight up believe that the people who claim to like this garbage simply aren't actual fans.
It's true that they aren't fans because they always use 'the fans are to blame' sentence when every single turd they push out gets criticised.
If anything they United the fanbase before the Disney era there were those who only liked ot and those who only liked pt with some in the middle but now all the fanbase collectively hates the st

This damage cannot be undone. Those of us hoping that someday new management at Disney will come along and magically repair these busted franchises would do well to face reality. These studio heads NEVER admit they're wrong. They never apologise. And they will burn it all down on their way out the door. Nostalgia is dead and to some extent, pop culture will follow. I wonder if kkenedy is even the major problem behind this disaster with bad films at Disney. it's probably a more institutional, corporation-wide, multi-corporation-wide, or hollywood-wide corruption.
These film creators are so insanely sensitive and dramatic now. Their narcissistic egos are too fragile to listen to any criticism. You don't make movies for yourself you fools, you make them for an audience. They seem to have forgotten this.
I disagree, most times you definitely make it for yourself.
When I worked at the cafe for a smaller, but major animation studio that's suffered some serious bombs recently, one of the OG's told me, "Back in the day, we used to make movies for each other...", which implies they used to make movies for people who like movies. Now they make movies for people who don't care about movies.
I feel terrible for Ford, who has seen both of his most iconic characters erased, but he chose money over integrity. All he had to do was say, "No".

Kathleen's infrastructural legacy at Lucasfilm has doomed their future as well. Even if you were to get her out now, the decade-plus of staffing all levels of management in the company with those that think nearly identical to her is likely hard to weed out. Like Chapek learned, if you join disney with the intent of changing the deliberately constructed corporate culture there you'll quickly find yourself working alone and then not at all. To many people working there they see their messaging as being vital (this is Vulnerable Narcissism at its finest) and that any distruption of their message poses an existential threat to whatever group, or cause they have taken up the mantle of that month. these characters and stories are just flesh vehicles for their message, and they will burn down the company down before giving up their percieved righteous social engineering. Its all narcissistic larping and the logical end of the decades of mounting political hegemony the progressive left has had in hollywood.
Imagine wanting to be a creator all your life only to wind up working for a company that is not only morally going bankrupt but also not creative.
The sad thing is that Kathleen Kennedy had the opportunity of a lifetime: A chance to learn at the feet of two creative titans, and did nothing. I’m sure Lucas and Spielberg would have been more than happy give her pointers on the finer details of filmmaking. That’s how Spielberg learned. When he wasn’t helming episodes of Columbo or Night Gallery, he went all over the Universal lot and spoke with producers, other directors, and technical staff and picked their brains about the business. Why she never just sat down with one or both of them and ask “How did you set up this shot” or “Why did you use this type of lighting?” Or “Why did you make this editing choice?” is beyond me. Maybe she already had third wave feminist tendencies and felt she would be “mansplained” before that term ever existed. I don’t know. What I do know is that, despite the awards, the accolades, the millions of dollars, and expensive dresses and shoes, she’s still that wet behind the ears, clueless coffee girl who is out of her depth and would have been exposed as such had it not been for “current year”.

I saw this last night, not really paying attention to who was or wasn’t behind the production.
I didn’t really like the apathy and passiveness of Indy and the chase through the streets seemed particularly boring and completely void of the gimmicks and clever moments of the original films. It was just cars racing through streets and shootings. Haven’t we seen that a 1000 times before. James Bond productions pull this off much better and more intriguingly.
