I was watching someone placed diamonds on their chart yet they didn't explain why. Now I have to do this for my square charts because of your explanation. Much appreciated.

    Stitcheresta,
I cannot even begin to thank you for this video! I just started my first square 23.62" x 31.5"
Thank you for being patient, thorough and most of all entertaining with your explanation. Oh and the close up is very helpful, too!
I've been watching and enjoying all your videos since April. Please keep recording and posting! It's my social media highlight!!

The checkerboard method is a LIFESAVER!!! I just got my first square drill and I was getting so frustrated with having to line everything up. And of course there's a ton of large areas of the same color. I was starting to hate square drill, but now it's a breeze! Thanks so much for the tip!!!

Awesome tip! I bought two kits and they came with square diamonds, so I'll be using this technique when I start mine! Excited to do this!

Omg!! Thank you for the tip on using the lid!! I don't know why I didn't think of that. Sometimes stabbing into the jar doesn't work so well. Unfortunately, all of mine have been round. I have some squares on the way, so I will try the checkerboard. Amazing how that straightens them up! Your Tinkerbell is looking so good!!

I just started diamond painting and I didn’t know about this checkerboard method, let me tell you it is a game changer with the square diamonds. I don’t see much of a difference with the rounds. I happen to like the square better but I think hat is because I am a kid at heart and I like the clicking sound when it all comes together. I also tried the pen for the first time because I had the round painting and again, WOW! Thanks for doing the tutorials and making things easier for us as you are working out some bugs as you go as are we. It is nice to know I am not alone in the “what the hell did I get myself into” boat.

I do this even with rounds. I find the area seems to fill faster. Yes, it is the same amount of time, but it seems faster.

I recently became a tweezer convert with squares. Happened due to having to use them because of oily drills. I was shocked to find how neat they go down. I have now learned how to grab a line of up to 4 with them. For some reason they are neater for me then when I do checkerboard. I have completely ditched the pens. Granted I am using the awesome tweezers that come fro Huacan. Just shows how everyone has to get a method that works for them. I think you are right that the checkerboard method is awesome, especially for people converting to squares from rounds. Thank you for another helpful video. I think it is nice to see methods from multiple people. :)

I use the tweezers to place my pattern. I found it a little easier to place them then use the pen to fill in. I also use a pen with no wax to twist the drill if need be.

Thank you for your video it was interesting to see how you placed your diamonds. I find it frustrating sometimes when as hard as you try they do not go on straight. I will definitely be using your method in the future.
I started with round diamonds and managed to pick up a square one from eBay the only problem I am having is the diamonds are not very even but I found that with my kit the diamonds go on better if I place the diamonds in a particular way as though there is a right and wrong way to them. It will be interesting when I start the one I got from AliExpress.

I have found that instead of pouring out 2-3 diamonds, you can just dip into your jar, one that is right side up always sticks to your pen. I Enjoy your channel so much, you always give good advice..😊

For one or two drills, you should be able to just put your pen in the jar and grab one, instead of pouring them into the lid.
