I just bought a Jeep Wrangler. I found out about Ducking Jeeps and thought that was a cool idea! Now, I just have to get me ducks! 😁

I LOVE THAT!! I always try to be sneaky but had a lady park right in front of me (in her cool jeep) and she walked over and handed me one... I OF COURSE returned the kindness!!!
Great video, thank you! Just to let you know, the peace sign that people give to Jeep owners, although many people that do it think that's what it is, It actually goes way way back to the early military that used Jeeps, it was a V for victory not a peace sign. Hope I helped with some history of the Jeep and the Victory sign! Oh, probably WWII

Just got the Jeep of my dreams and the seller gave me my first duck from a bag she had 🥲 just ordered a bag of ducks and I’m excited to hand-pick ducks for other Jeeps.

I'm about to get my first jeep and am excited to duck Jeeps. Also, was glad to know that it's acceptable to wave to other Jeep owners using an open palm because my fingers are bent and don't fully extend open, so I"m not able to correctly give a peace sign. 😕

There's a lot of loving people out there and drive all different kind of vehicles just because they don't have a duck or drive a Jeep don't mean they don't care they can be loving and care to you too
When I met my hubby 2 years ago he had his Jeep Wrangler. Up until recently its been our summer/beach vehicle. We had one duck from a b&b where we stayed and the owner had a Jeep. We really didn't know about the ducks.
But this weekend we went to the Myrtle Beach Jeep jam. The first night I came down and 2 ducks were on the Jeep. I was so excited 😊 once we got to the rally and after parties I couldn't wait to get out and see what we had. We ended up with 2 dozen ducks. I'm going this weekend to get a yard stick and velcro to display our ducks.
We just signed up for our first charity event run and a Jeep Jam in March. I ordered ducks yesterday and I'll order more this weekend. Now we're immersing ourselves in Jeep culture!
oh I like the yard stick idea!! I wondered how people did it!! I'm on that this weekend!! We haven't been to a rally!! I guess we should put that on the #bucketlist with STELLA
we made our display for our ducks too!! your suggestion... but we used paint sticks... and some E 6000 adhesive... probably velcro would be better!! HEAT in the window and all!! I posted a SHORT video on it.
@To Be Determined ...I changed it to mounting tape. We have 2 yard sticks going. I just had to bring some of the ducks in because our dashboard was full and we have 4 jeep events this month alone. Those ducks are in the office and bow we have room for new ducks.

I’m a Jeep renegade owner so of course I duck all jeeps but I have been ducked by wrangler owners. I do the ✌🏼with the thumb out for my Jeep wave. Makes it easy to keep your hand on the wheel. I love your video

I had a Cherokee (Eugene) and now I have Sammy the Patriot as a temporary rig while waiting for a Rubicon (must be red). I duck people when I like their Jeep. (My brother has had about 8 Jeeps.) I keep my Patriot clean, has a very nice stereo and he has a banner etc. My dream is to get ducked but it's not likely to happen I guess. So I'm starting a trend. Cherokees and Patriots will be getting ducked in Oregon!

So... at the store, I parked next to a sweet Cherokee and put a choice duck in the door handle. I went in the store and my adult son waited in my Jeep.
When I got back the Cherokee was gone and the duck was on the ground. My son looked at me and shrugged. I picked up the purple duck and got in my Jeep.
My son told me the guy and his teenaged son walked up, driver flicks the duck off the door handle and they drive off, snubbing a great compliment from a member of the Jeep community.
So now I'm ONLY ducking those models if they have mods that demonstrate that they HAVE A CLUE!
There, rant over. :-) I need a REAL Jeep. :-/

I'm transitioning still. Bought an '06 Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 recently. It's been a dream of mine since I was in h.s. to own an older (late 70s Cherokee Chief, ) I've waited for this for 45 years.
But they were always snapped up before I could get it, or the price was way out of my meager budget.
Have had my dear little Kia Soul+ for several years, but w/ her high mileage I decided it was time to sell. I was aiming for either a Toyota 4Runner (had one previously, loved it), or a Jeep of some sort....
And then my "06 GCL appeared, at my mechanic's shop, no less.
She has half the miles my Kia has, and is 6 years older, and honestly, in way better shape, in spite of my and the previous owner's great care of the Kia.
It was time to take a chance.
My Kia hasn't sold yet, partially due to the high miles, but mostly because everyone is like "Oh, it's a manual? I can't drive that."
WTF is wrong with people these days?? Who doesn't know how to drive a stick?! For Pete's sake, I learned in a stick, most of the cars I've ever had were manual, my kids learned on manuals! Good grief!
(Honest though, I'm happy the Jeep is an auto/ 4, I had an ankle injury, I'm 60, I've used a clutch forever, and I'm ready to switch. BUT I DO KNOW HOW TO OPERATE A MANUAL TRANS!!)
Anywho....I couldn't wait for the Kia to sell-- yea, she's still w/ me-- so I got a small loan and bought that Jeep . Too good of a deal to pass up, based on all my research. I got very lucky!
I can't wait to drive her daily. Can't insure her til the Kia sells, but I know it won't be long! Have only gone out for short jaunts nearby. Midnight Blue Pearl, mechanically sound, cosmetically decent, such a beauty.
So stoked to be part of the Cult of Jeep, lol!!
(My son has been a Jeepr since 2013 or so, is a mechanic by trade, and approved of my choice. Says I got a keeper. Plus, he knows Jeeps, so I have an ally! 😎)
And I do the peace sign Jeep wave (when I'm in the Jeep) but then again,I've lived in the sticks for decades, and have waved like that at everyone for 30 years, so it's natural.
Ducked myself when I bought my Jeep, haha, he rides copilot in the passenger. Upholder for now. I can't wait to duck others too! I
I'm gonna miss my little Kia though....she's been good to me, I've taken great care of her, she has a lot of life left in her, and the fuel economy can't be matched by the WK.
Still, though.....I FINALLY GOT MY CHEROKEE!!!❤❤❤

I wave to other drivers who are driving Wranglers, but not Jeeps that aren't Wranglers. There are two kinds of Jeep drivers, those who want a four wheel drive car like a Liberty, Cherokee, Grand Cherokee to get through deep snow in winter, and there are drivers of Jeeps who belong to the community. Not all Wrangler drivers, though, have joined the community.
As for ducking, I duck if I like their Jeep, and especially if they have mods that show that they've joined the community. If a Wrangler is stock with no mods at all, I think the driver is in the first category who just wants a four-wheel drive car.
We Duck - wranglers- And def. Got the Jeep for off roaring but didn't make mods for extreme off roading
I wave to wranglers ✌️I get the wave back usually . I live in Gilbert, Arizona and have not got my first duck yet . And I dont see many jeeps here that have ducks on the dash …..
It does make a difference where you are. Seems we have got more in Utah than anywhere!! and Florida. (since we're her so much!

I drive a lifted 17 patriot mooded with a few extra's, big tires some cool decals on the windows. I think it looks pretty cool, i get all kinds of compliments from nonjeep owners but never a duck or wave except from my wife who owns a nice cherokee trailhawk & my 10yr daughter who luvs 2 play duck duck jeep. I live in central pa & i work for a pretty big car lot & have 2 drive some of the vehicles & when I'm in a wrangler i get all kinds of waves from other wrangler it drives me nuts so i bought myself a duck giving the bird & put it right out right were everyone can easily see it cause i know all those snobs that wave when I'm in a wrangler(which I'm not very fond of) would & don't even blink a eye @ me when I'm in my patriot. Don't get me wrong I'd luv 2 participate but wrangler owner act like their better than the rest cause they can afford one & for that reason my duck is giving them the bird🖕
a duck giving the bird, SO FUNNY!! I know the jeep ducking can be specific types of jeeps ... Some others on this feed have mentioned they duck all types of jeeps, not just wranglers. We duck and wave and some don't wave back and we see plenty without any ducks so we assume they don't play. 🤷🏻♀️. We have even seen a BLUE DUCK now being given to ALLIANCE RV owners... what's that about?

Some of those are not ducks. lol. I had to separate them. My kids gave me a bag. Hard to wave when owners tint their windshields. We always wave. 👍👍😎🇺🇸
Our windshield is too full~~. need to separate some too I guess!! We were given the ALIEN by a JEEPER at Watkins Glen Speedway. She calls her jeep an alien and has it all sticker up 🤷🏻♀️.

With ducking, I'm partial to ICE Wranglers. If it's not a Wrangler, it's not a real Jeep. 😜 Also, if you own a Wrangler and you don't do the jeep wave back once you've received one from a fellow Wrangler driver, then you need to sell it and get outta the Jeep club. 😜✌🏽

So, I’m a guy and I drive a Liberty Jet edition. I got ducked for the first time a couple weeks ago. So I have purchased a 50 pack of random ducks to start participating and ducked my first Jeep today actually! I will be spreading the love with all Jeeps, not just the Wranglers.

OH YES.... we have about 20 in our window!!! Some people use the duck they were given to then duck another jeep. We keep ours and have a supply from amazon ready to duck at any moment.

I just got a 15 grand Cherokee and went out and got a bag of ducks I did my first ducking at Walmart I have ducks on my dash to let people know I'm open to being ducked but haven't had it happen yet might not but who knows. I'm ducking all jeeps not just wranglers.

I got my Gladiator a month ago. I went to the pharmacy for my wife, and the Pharmacist saw my Jeep outside, and they all ran out to see it! One of them made the comment: "Oh, I wish I had a DUCK for ya!" My response was "...wh..what?" The manager explained that "Jeep owners give other Jeep owners a rubber ducky. They try to sneak it in, when the Jeep is in a parking space, and no one catches them!" The Pharmacist added "they are just the little ones, ya stick it on the jeep handle!" I'm like: "...oh" She, the Pharmacist, then added: "Its a way to spread a smile, a rubber ducky makes ya smile!"
Next time I went to the Pharmacy, I handed her my first duckling! I found a bag of glow in the dark duckys! You'll know when I Duck ya! I have not gotten any myself. The Pharmacist is out on vacation, so none from her, yet. I finally placed one on a Wrangler next to me in a parking lot. I had to drive to another store, and returned back through the same parking lot to exit, I got to see that Jeep owner return to her vehicle....with a scowl on her face! It didnt spread a smile a'tall! I dont even know if she kept it. I almost stopped to say "howdy" or something, till she turned, and I saw that upside down smile! I kept going!
I remember going up to that Pharmacist months before, and asking her what she thought of her Jeep. I wanted a new truck, and I couldn't decide- Tacoma, Gladiator, or Bronco. Bronco was too expensive, and I wanted a truck, so, Bronco out. My GMC Sierra, I drove out the glass doors, off the showroom in 2003. Then over 200K miles, I was itchin' for something new. I was asking $7000 for her, and no one was blinking. They said that was a great price...and it was, towards my Gladiator.
The Wave: I knew nothing about this, till one day I was stopped at a light. The Jeep was one week old. Someone turning Left waved, open handedly, the whole way in front of me and past me...he was in a Wrangler...then it hit me! I quickly waved back! Big smile returned to me...I knew I did the right thing. Then it hit me. Jeepsters must wave to each other. Like motorcycles.
I ride an old BMW, not many people wave back to me...the ones that do make up for the others who just return my wave with a blank stare or ...a scowl. Note: My Jeep is replacing the Beemer, because I am getting older and have decided, after 55 years, that 4 wheels is much safer in this old world! Ive seen way too many close calls! So it has to be a Jeep that replaces the moto-cycle.
Both of mine are for sale...I built a Chopper. ...NOT because of any foolish tv show, just because I could. My old Ironhead Sportster bobber was in the garage more than on the road. If I washed her, she was going to leave me stranded somewhere. The tow truck flatbed people got to know me well! I realized one day that I have rebuilt the old Sportster enough that I should just build one from scratch, the way I want it. Nothing Harley on my Chop, either. I dont like the way they treated my older Brother. He invented the left side shift for the ol Ironheads. Mine came from his Shop. It was the 76 model with the first left side shift from the factory. It was found a basket case at the Lakewood Ga Swap Meet. Now, she belongs to a Biker in a Gang, The Sundowners. They are older guys, settled down, not outlaws anymore. He offered cash, if I would sell her. I said okay...sold!
Anyway, I duck, and wave. If I dont give the open hand, I give the duce, the two fingers closer together- I figure if someone cant see me very well, he might just see one finger, and think its a birdie. Plus, my fingers dont work like they used to, so whichever comes up when I tell the hand to wave, is what they get.
Thanks for the comment. As far as the Jeep, I (Peyton) was not into the Duck thing at first but my mind has changed...it does bring a lot of joy to people. We put a card with our ducks to tell them we love their Jeep and that seems to take out the guess work for those that don't know about Ducking. As far as motorcycles, I still ride a Harley and do the "deuces" to any motorcyclist. I know some just wave at Harley's but I think that it's silly. We are love to ride, so as far as I'm concerned, we are all the same.

I drive with the window down & people with the same Chevy or if I knew other guys with classic cars Id wave out the window.
My X gf hated the 74 DJ5 so I ended up driving it & omg there were lots & lots & lots of Jeepers out there, generally waving with a full hand here in Texas. We wave hi here. Since then people have an image they project & customizing Jeeps has really exploded.
Owning vehicles is different now. It used to be enjoying the same vehicle & having a knowledge pool of parts & repairs & such. Now it's leisure. Just what I think though.
When we had our Mini Cooper we waved to other Coopers too.
I keep a dozen or so ducks in my 03 tj just for ducking people .. I've been ducked 3 times this summer . And I jeep wave every wrangler I see in ne ohio

Okay I think the duck thing is a girl thing The wave I don't do so much of a wave I do a head nod to most everybody for most anything. But as my dad would say who was in the army for 20 years sometimes you got to turn the attitude off that the military installed because you become a little too hard to take. Just saying dude enjoy yourself. Loosen up man You're a stiff as bored You're out now. But I like how you are you remind me a little bit of my dad I think it's the military side there's a reason on a purpose for everything and that's how you do it every day I rub off on me pretty hard which makes me kind of the same way My wife is been working on me for 32 years to loosen up I'm still pretty organized and pretty set in my ways I don't like it It's making me feel really old at 60 remember time is short have fun stay loose and above all stay sexy That's something we used to use the body shop all the time Don't know exactly what it means 🤣
First, thanks so much for watching and the comment. Yes, the military changes us in ways and I've been unwinding that string for a year and have plenty to go. We kept discussing the do's/don'ts of ducking so I finally said, "let's see what google says..." well, the rules of ducking are, there are no rules. It's kind of fun and the wife really enjoys it. Had a Mini Cooper and a Truck before we downsized for something to tow for adventures in RV life..We have a Harley too and we do the Harley wave to fellow riders. So special :P. Jeepers who play are considerate in placing ducks on others property & they ENJOY giving and receiving. "chicks" and DUDES from all walks of life 'do this'. It does 'compute' that not all want to 'play' .... we see plenty of JEEPS with NO DUCKS in the window, and it is TOTALLY ok (sorry DaveG, we get it, and it is totally fine with us). We don't usually leave a duck if the window of a Jeep is empty.~. It's really just a thing .
