Cadillac Escalade V | 680HP Green Car of the Year

- čas přidán 7. 07. 2024
- We provide a full review on one of the largest and fastest body-on-frame, luxury SUVs in 2022 - 2023, the Cadillac Escalade V. This 680HP Supercharged V8 boat took a ton of engineering to make it ride and perform in a way it shouldn't. While there are other high performers like the Audi SQ7, BMW X7, and Mercedes G Wagon, and Porsche Cayenne, none are quite like this.

Who is ‘launching’ this thing,
My drunk brother in law who used it to crash into my sister's town house after a night out at Buffalo Wild Wings.
@@savagegeese Tiger Woods would drive this

With 682hp and AWD, I'll be the record holder at my local Starbucks drive-thru for the fastest window to window time!
Lol! Let's not kid ourself 99% of cars are mall/Cafe crawlers. I'd say a huge portion of the viewers on this channel have never tracked their cars
Hardly….700hp is nothing for 50,000lbs
@@feelthatfeelthat to be fair, tracking is very expensive. Even making 170k a year, i still would not track more than once a year. Its a lot of money gone in just an hour
Wouldn't beat my GT-R
@@brandodurham we ain’t hauling your momma
There is such a thing as the ultimate trophy wife vehicle, I suppose.
which has the lower running costs, maintenance and resale value?
Can confirm. I live in a town full of gold chasing hoors, and many drive these, along with Gwagons.
V badge
I thought that title belonged to the Range Rover?
Man those upshifts sound just godly. My T levels are rising just listening to it.
The shifts and the sound of the motor, wow! If you're looking to start a family, this is a good reason to do so
Or.. buy one and keep it alone to yourself without starting one 😏 😏
❤️
Viagra not necessary!
The burbling might get old quick, especially since it doesn't sound as natural/'smooth' as in ye olde times, but almost like tryhard emulated.
@@Dowlphin You're missing the point of this vehicle. There's nothing natural about it.
Cadillac: The CT5 V Blackwing will be our final ICE vehicle as we switch to full electricity by 2030.
Also Cadillac: 8 MPG Escalade V
Will their first electric Escalade V SUV need an overhead cable for power? Or maybe contacts built into the ground like a scalextric car?
On-board diesel generator!
I'm getting 13mpg for two weeks of testing.
also mid cycle refresh CT5-V Blackwing thats getting a bump in power and better tires for 2024
@@MJSEN the electric one will be even wilder. A lighting rod permanently affixed to the roof. 0-60 in .5 seconds during lighting strikes 🌩️
The Escalade V is insane and excessive, but I can’t help but like it.
Don't start a family due to a car. Not worth the head ache
🎉😅😅😊😂❤
As it should be.
Give in to your desires
@@seanelucero only a fool would make a V a family car. This thing is for business owners free of children
The connections that SG has made with GM have hugely benefited these videos. I love the engineering segments!
Its largely propaganda. I worked there.
@@lukewalker1051 nobody cares
This truck has put a giant smile on the face of every single reviewer I've watched driving it, and I'd say that's a huge part of what cars like the V-series Cadillacs/AMGs/M cars etc. are all about
But what’s the 0-60 while towing a Pottery Barn Special Edition Airstream?
you've got it all figured out! mmm
Epic exhaust note but Jack's laughter is still one of the best sounds on the internet
Yup! and he sincerely loves and finds love for most of these vehicles.. Mark and his liberal snark I can do without!
My gosh. The noise this mammoth SUV makes is intoxicating. I could listen to it all day. You guys looked like you were having fun. If I had that kind of money, I'd bite.
Those shifts are crisp!
Utterly ridiculous vehicle, but done well
In 20 years we're going to look back on this car and be like "Those were the days"
I couldn’t agree more on your take. I’ve wanted them to build an Escalade V for so long. Now that they have, I’m stuck wondering “why”. GM & “Murica”. That’s why. 🤷🏼♂️🤣 I’d much prefer a 3.0l duramax. You guys made me nervous taking the king-sized bed set around those corners!
I am fully convinced this red is the best paint on this thing
Nah, imagine black, smoked wheels and lights, and just those super bright headlamps.
That would be the ultimate Walter White machine.
And he could intimidate you with only the never ending burble.
Jack got me at Scrooge McDuck 😂. Amazing review. I love this thing, I’d only get it in a “Long boy” spec all blacked out .
Great for McMansion renovation hobbiests zipping between happy hour and Home Depot. Would love to see a snow tire-equipped, driven on snow test of some modern high performance vehicles.
Better off buying a 30 year old
Truck and dumping $50k into aftermarket and making fun of SUV buyers for wasting money.
People with this money get somebody else to do their home improvements lmao
Dang, those shifts and exhaust note!!! Awesome job Cadillac!
Mark, " I don't understand the point" and then smiling like a stoner who just scored an ounce of "Acapulco gold". The point taken. Loved the sound, and your drive.
GM engineers are wonderfully open to talking, and seemingly really good at talking for a less-technical audience. Every time they agree to come on, they've benefitted the video.
The Cadillac Escalade V. Made expressly for either the strip club or coffee house parking lot. A vehicle to fit all lifestyles.
If a $180k car doesn’t make you smile every time you drive it, it’s not worth $180k. And given that fact, I get the entire point of the Escalade V. It might actually justify the cost of entry
Super Cruise was NOT available for the first batch of these being made. Every one built after October 2 will be coming with Super Cruise. All supplies went into the Lyriq launch in May. That's why I waited until that restriction was lifted especially at its price point. The only thing 100% discontinued for the remaining 23 models is the adaptive headlamp system.
I was able to secure an order for one at msrp and with my trade in on an older model Escalade that I was offered, I said fuck it let's do it. If I couldn't land one at msrp, no way would I be buying this. Mark ups I got through roughly 10 dealerships ranged from 60-100k. The ones selling at msrp, their lists are massive and one of the biggest dealerships in my area said at least a 4 year wait(130+ waitlist).
Every single reviewer I've seen cover this car, when driving have a huge smile on their faces. This is my obnoxious send off to ICE. I'll be getting 7 mpg the way I'll be driving mine probably but fuck it, life is short, enjoy it while you can.
Have loads of fun. I can't really fault you for going for it. By the time I could even think about affording one of these, vehicles like this will be long gone.
Good for you mate
When everyone is driving a cheap EV with barely any sound insulation you’ll be blasting down the hammer lane with this cargo train screaming at 6k rpm and there’s not a damn thing any one of those pawns can do about it. American dream.
@@markm0000 Cringe
I've got my Powerball ticket for tomorrow's drawing and I'm fucking buying one of these when I win
Good luck dude (i actually mean it)
That sound is GLORIOUS!
Bash it all you guys want, but those giggles and ear-to-ear grins just don't lie.
This car makes me smile. It seems like there’s a lot of passion behind it. It’s totally unnecessary, yet in the days where people cry “climate emergency”, it’s extremely refreshing! A car for enjoyment.
Fuck those people lol. Buy more v8 trucks and suvs. Freedom 🦅🇺🇸
can't wait to see livery plates on it and be driven to the airport in one of these. At least I will be confident I won't miss my flight.
Are you looking for a new chauffeur? I will relocate, I'm a beast behind the wheel, and I'm a pro when it comes to the logistics of choosing the most ideal route, etc. I will gladly switch careers to drive this puppy!
I love the title of the video more than anything else right now.
You and 5 of your closest friends are taking a road trip to Vegas for a bachelor party. Escalade V
Say what you want about it, but very few cars have made them laugh like that
I've driven both the 2022 & 2023 Escalades for extended distances & have been a passenger in all areas of them - they are by far my favorite large SUV. I've driven the CT5 Blackwing as well (manual) and it's in my top 5 all time favorite cars I've driven (blows the Hellcats away BY FAR!!). I'm super excited to drive this & I love they built this. I hear the 392 Durango's all the time and they are louder than this Escalade V - but the Durango's are BEYOND obnoxiously loud to the point where it doesn't even sound good - at least those that harass our local town....
I'm sorry the 392 dominated your ears.
The answer why they did this is because they can and people will buy it.
That intro was PHENOMENAL!
There are a lot of things I could do with $150k... 😅 First thing I thought after hearing the sticker price.
You can buy 37,594 beef and cheddars from Arbys
@@Tool0GT92 back in my day it used to be 5 for 5$ for the regular sandwich. Disappointed to see it was 2 for 7$ recently
It’s amazing the Cadillac always has been heavy. This is the power that it needs. I absolutely love it.
I'm still ASTONISHED you guys manage to film vehicles like this on the backroads where there are farms / houses close by (not suburban but still..) and not have people coming at you with pitchforks and yelling at you to slow down 😂 😂this car sounds like a nascar lmfao 😂 edit : Also didn't know that you drove a X7 now! Time to do a update video! Thought you drive the Xc90 still ;)
People out in the country don't care that much. I live on a busy country road and love hearing the cool cars haul ass
They're really just disappointed its not a 454 swapped '78 SeVille tearing down the road instead
What do you think the farmers do in their spare time? 🏎️💨
@@alecwhatshisname5170 I didn't know farmers had free time ;)
I’ve got a 2018 Camaro SS with the 8 speed automatic and it shifts like this 10 speed Escalade V. And every time I hear that pop in my Camaro, it makes me laugh and smile so hard. I’m glad to see that if I was rich enough I could get the same experience in a family hauler 😂
Those gear shifts are insanely fast for what it is.
01:22. My GAAAWWWWWD that dash looks amazing! What an enchanting place to chill during a nice long road trip!
I think I can record this engine sound and listen over and over. Its just so thrilling. No EV can give you such satisfaction. Oh yes EVs can put funny fake engine noise.
Thank you guys so much for your video I always appreciate it !
Black on black Escalade V with some big black wheels.. nicest most inspired car on the street !
The shifts are incredible.
The sound and shifts are next level! Too bad it won’t drift 😂
It will but it won’t do anything after
Not with that attitude!
This is where I’m glad the channel is not just Mark. The reason for the existence of this beast is self evident. It’s awesome.
Your faces whenever the right foot hits the floor…look at those smiles!😂. 10:10
The definition of a BEAST.
honestly, I think supercruise is by far the most compelling feature of these (or regular escalades). Like something that the competitors do not fully match. I would be pulling chips from anything I could to use for these.
Great video. Thanks for putting out such interesting content.
This thing is hilarious! Loved the driving portion!!
So glad this vehicle sound exists to set a standard for future societies
I added a "V" badge on my wife. She was not thrilled...
This video is it. Thank you Cadillac.
this was the most hilarious review of yours that I've watched in a long time
Definitely buying this as soon as I win the lottery twice. Once for the escalade and a second time for the gas
13 mpg, city/highway combined.
Seems high, lol.
So basically 10 MPG real world
Yeah, the engineer who tuned the Escalade V exhaust deserves the gold medal for obnoxiousness. Truly world class levels of giving an auditory middle finger to the world. Just practice saying, "But officer it's stock!"
It sounds insane!!
You seem to have forgotten the popularity of the Hellcat, which has the same performance profile as this thing - it's fast in a straight line. BUT this Escalade can haul 7 people COMFORTABLY while towing a camper or boat and then have a FUN time (fast) at the destination. This vehicle seems like it would fit perfectly next to anyone who even considered buying the Hellcat.
Man! I sure hope I get to experience this beast, while out and about! Yay ya!
I was 🤣 on the floor. This thing is funny as hell.
That thing sounds positively awesome
This is all I wanted to see 9:00. All we need is Mark in a ridiculously silly beast. Joy 🙏🙏🙏
Getting “head shakes” and “middle fingers” 😂😂😂
Cadillac Escalade V- $150,000. Pissing off every other driver on the road- Priceless!
My brother the father of my kids would love one of these..
I love the sounds of those shifts.
Congress needs to pass a law that all shifts have to sound like this.
What a beast!
Hatchbacks are all anyones gonna be able to afford soon lol
Yes indeed … heading into a protracted Recession , you’re prediction is spot-on !!!
soon? now.
Solid new hatchback is 25-30k. They're already unaffordable.
I got my Mazda 3 hatchback back in 2015 and all I can say is that with the back seats folded down its got enough storage for the average person. And at 5'10" I can stretch my legs out laying down back there, which will be perfect because i'll never be able to afford a house.
This IS the biggest, coolest, most powerful and badass hatchback!
Love the hoodie message 👍
Cadillac just built my dream machine lol .... forget supercars.... this thing can fit your entire family in comfort and fulfill your acceleration and sound dreams.
I have got to subscribe !
This is completely freaking ridiculous, the engine is crazy powerful for an SUV, those brake discs are bigger than a pizza, the new pops and crackles are obnoxious, yet I can't help but grin ear to ear. Those WOT shifts sound just like on my 6th gen Camaro. 101% awesomeness, a proper farewell to the legendary Escalade.
Mark's sweatshirt doesn't resonate terribly well with the targeted audience for supercharged GM V8s.
As a European having lots of narrow roads and parking spots that feel to small for compacts I would hate this as a daily, but I would love to have it for the fun weekend stuff and just the crazy of it.
I love you guys!!! I have another vid to watch my breakfast to
Wow!!! Mom I want one !!
Hands down the best video review I have seen so far of the Escalade V. Thanks for the video it was very informative. Are you guys planning on doing a review of the 2023 BMW X7 M60i?
One of the all time great cars
I love it!
This is the most logical purchase.
I have a very limited time for my home improvement projects on the weekend. I need to get to Lowes and home with a load of bagged concrete as fast as possible. The Escalade V is the only vehicle I trust to save my weekend in time to get back to my day job as branch manager of Buckhead Chase.
Don't forget it's Starbucks performance from order screen to pickup window.
The reggae music in this one was amazing.
Props to you guys if you produced it yourselves, but I'm sure you mixed at least a little bit too.
Solid Gold !😆😆
Cadillac going out with a bang. I love it.
I better prepare a cigar and glass of cognac now for that Cayenne GT video. Love the geese talking about coupe suvs
That driving impression was hilarious.
Exhaust sounds sickkkkkk
This thing is amazing. Tuned perfectly. Not MPG friendly. 😂
Damn thing sound amazing!
German engineer here. You guys are calibrating my view of the average American, and I will be measuring reality offset once I get to visit my colleagues in Ohio.
I am currently driving this for testing while my 19 Mustang GT is sitting in my garage for two weeks, but I'm not complaining 🤣
Love the music choice in this one. Reminds me of the airport scene in The Fifth Element with the guys frying the rats out of the landing gear
I have a 22 Camaro SS 1LE and it's overrun is just as crazy, if not even crazier. It's so much fun, so much. You guys need a Camaro SS 1LE to review. Though it's not the time of year to review one, but you will see it is the best sports car, best track car for the money, period. The sound, the power, the suspension, brakes, the feel of the whole driving experience... it is one of the BEST cars GM has ever created for the money.
I want this Cadillac Escalade V asap.............Nuff said.
Somebody: Just 'cos you can doesn't mean you should.
Cadillac: Yes! We can!
I was sitting my car the other, a Lexus RX330, so not too low to the ground but not high seating either. A new Escalade pulled in next as I was looking over my shoulder to back out. I about freaked out because it was like a damn train was about to hit my car. My wife was laughing at the audacity of a street legal train. His hood was nearly over the roof of my RX330. He was parking in the handicap spot and in all honesty, I feel if you can not only drive something like that and get in and out, you are not handicapped.
That shifts so damn good.
This is going to be worth its weight in gold in years to come. It's a dying breed.
after working in gm service for almost 2 years now, i totally get what he's saying about the gm service experience definitely not being as good as other higher end manufacturers
