I find it funny that the only reason they replace Frank West's voice is because they wanted him to sound like he's actually in his 50s, even though the original VA was in his 40s during Dead Rising 1, meaning they could've afforded him as Frank West again by that point
Funny that Frank's og VA comes back to another capcom zombie franchise as William Birkin in RE2Remake
Other games that tried to replace original VAs were Max Payne 3 and Hitman: Absolution, both in 2012 with this same excuse, thankfully they went back after the fans backlash
That’s something I’ve always wondered, because he sounds really young and energetic, but everyone calls him “gramps” or “an old guy”. Same goes for Chuck, even though his voice sounds older and more mature, he’s still called “grandpa” by bandits
The fact that they had the option to use the original VA, and purposely chose NOT to, is honestly the worst thing this game has done.
Frank always had kind of a childlike voice to me but that was his charm imo
This one always felt like they wanted to do a "journalist investigates a conspuracy game" so they used a recognizable character. Then half way through planning realized what game series frank is from. Then saw all the "serious zombie stories" out at the time and decided to do that too.
Like when this came out i remember a lot of people having zombie burn-out, myself included.
This game came out the same year as Dying Light, the best zombie game in the last decade
@raidengoodman8754 dying light came out the year before, if I'm remembering it right. It might have gotten an update in the same year as dr4 coming out, though.
tbf, Frank was also a journalist researching a conspiracy in dead rising 1 too. The only thing that's dofferent in this game is you fight way too many of the obscuris and military enemies. also the stealth... not the game for stealth

So essentially this Game probably would have been better received if it waited to come out after the zombie phase of gaming because genuinely I don’t see what makes this not fun so far. It just seems like dead rising that’s slightly more linear and nicer graphics.

Honestly they should do a remake of the first as a way to test if it still has appeal and reboot it in a way that course-corrects it by massively turning down the focus on combo weapons and en-masse zombie killing, which is arguably what killed the franchise.
Kev you deffo need to play the Alternate capcom mode where you dress up as various different characters from their games instead of using normal weapons you use their powers

Other than the intro he seemed to have fun so it can't be that bad

Yakuza is going to be crossing the 8th game now and so far its been a really good series even though its 3rd game has a somewhat mixed reception its really cool how they otherwise keep the series quality constantly amazing.
tbf 3 is the oldest one (if you dont count og 1 & 2) so you can give it some slack especially with the amazing story

Earth Defense Force started as basically a budget game among a series of budget games where the publisher just shotgunned a bunch of games at a wall and saw what stuck. EDF is now on its 6th mainline game and each one s significant improvement over the last.
There's also Ace Combat where, other then Assault Horizon spin off (pretty much held in the same regard as 'DMC is to Devil may cry fans) have been going strong for 7 games and 4 5 and Zero are regarded as the best in the series

I watched my brother play this game mostly and to a 10 year old it looks cool. I think that’s where anything good ended though.

It looks like a modern game. Of course the dated sandbox from 2006 is the one I prefer because I played it when I was a kid. But if you were a kid and saw this I’m sure it’s not bad. Nostalgia is the word I’m looking for.

The only good thing in the whole game was at the beginning when she said : Frank it’s a zombie! And frank just said no shit
My favorite part about this game is a friend gave me a free copy on steam because they got a key in a promotion that they didn't need, and then I discovered despite meeting literally all of the requirements and then some to make the game run, it still wouldn't run...and apparently this was super common for the game to just not work for some people for some reason. I still can't get the game to run years later with an even better computer.

Days gone deserved a sequel No one has ever seen a horde system like they had in that game and it was beautiful and I love the story and everything in it. I don’t understand how the sequel didn’t get made.
This is the game that made me say “you would have to feed me a full tray of pot brownies before I played more of this game than necessary”
Keep in mind their justification for changing voice actors was Frank was older and more mature. Now rewatch the video with that in mind.
This would make sense but because the og actor was literally in his 50s at the time of the game being made, meaning he would be playing a 52 year old just doesn't make sense and just comes off as a lazy excuse especially sense the new voice actor is way younger than the og one

I actually enjoyed this game. Not as much as dead rising 3, but i found it playable and pretty enjoyable the first time.
The first three are all amazing for me and I stand by that any time someone tries saying the third is not Dead Rising enough. The second and the third may have lost special things that made the original entry the best, but what they did differently more than made up for any losses there and with their strengths, especially since the tone of each video game fit what they were going for extremely well. All of them are fantastically made games on every level with insane levels of detail and all of the DLCs are good too. Three straight 9-10/10s in a row in my opinion. The fourth game is the only sequel in the entire franchise that sucks and it sucked so bad that I wish they shelved it and never released it. There are only a few redeeming aspects they added to it that could have been fun in a different vision and the DLCs were alright. It is legit one of the worst games of 2016 and I lost all enjoyment and interest in playing through it until the end after 10 minutes. The only reason I at least completed the main story was for the achievements. It also sucks that they closed down the studio afterward as it was the fault of the newly hired clueless awful executives instead of everyone else. They made hit after hit throughout their entire lifespan prior to it. Just forget this game ever existed and make new editions, but called something such as Dead Rising: (name of any city or mall) for each new version instead of the numbers such as Dead Rising 5, so there is no attachment to the 2016 game. Proceed with brand new characters and a brand new story for the first and then have old characters return to proceed with three's post-credit scene.
the third one definitely is not as good as the first two, but only because of the art style, its too dull and muddy, the other two games are very colorful
@@InitialPC It did other things with its graphics and other areas in its gameplay that beats out the others to make up for issues there and issues elsewhere. Each of them have different strengths and weaknesses that all level out to about the same in my opinion. Besides the first which is obviously the best in the trilogy.
I hate when people say the third one is bad. They expanded upon everything and kept the charm. 😊

I heard that last Medal of Honor game was actually really good and just ahead of its time. Apparently it did the red and blue outline of teammates and enemies that is so common now way before everyone else and people hated it.

I love that last MOH had a dedicated sidearm, a large caliber, & small caliber. &The shotguns had actually good distance, same with the damage for the sidearms.
If you haven't played Dead Rising 2 Off The Record yet I'd highly recommend it. It's probably my favourite in the series as it's the second game but with Frank West instead of Chuck

@@swaggadash9017 eh the story is fine, I'm one of those people that liked the first few for the time management game, the malls weren't the biggest play areas so crunching down the time to rescue every survivor and do every case in one play through was always the most fun I had with the games

I originally played this at launch and beat it once then got rid of it. 2, 2OtR and 3 I played multiple times, 2 and 2OtR more than 3 but 4 has 0 immediate replayability.
I'm now replaying it but on PS5 and enjoy it more this time but it still sucks compared to 2 and 2OtR.

It really felt like a rushed games, the change in voice actors wasn’t bad but I felt as if he wasn’t even given a good script 😂, they had some ideas that weren’t fully flushed out, there was like 4 construction sites but they only had collectibles and they were never used as big set pieces, although I know most people want a DR1 remake but they could’ve made DR4 nuts to butts crazy. I don’t mind the fast pace of the game, I feel as though at this point in the series frank west is a psychopath himself. It’s not my favorite but I would just turn off my mind and mindlessly mow down zombies, it’s not fun for some people but it really got me through tuff times 😂

They are planning of making yet another one, let's hope they bring back the charm. Number three is the best... technically five if u count the spinoff game and this soulless ginger of a game.
